What a Difference 8/11/2002

For the first 4 years I lived in Tucson Caruso's was my favorite Italian Restaurant. I went back after being away from there for 4 yrs and found not only had the food items changed, I found the ones they had to be less than adequete and service poor at best - STAY AWAY more

Crazy for Caruso's 8/8/2002

This is an excellent family restaurant. If you want authentic Italian cuisine instead of reheated frozen army surplus food like Olive Garden, go to Caruso's. The pizza is delicious, the garlic toast is magnificent, and the lasagna is simply the best. For memorable outdoor dining, ask to be seated on the back patio. There is no comparison. Caruso's Restaurant has the best Italian food in Tucson. Pros: Inexpensive, 1930's Ambience, Back Patio Cons: Crowded more

all around good 7/26/2002

Caruso's is a downtown Tucson staple and the ambience of funky Fourth Avenue serves it well in attracting a diverse and interesting crowd. You used to be able to bring in your own wine... not sure if you can still do that, but it's worth checking into. Start at Caruso's and end up at any number of 4th Ave. pubs/bars/clubs for the remainder of the night! And eat on the patio--very nice. Pros: good food/good value, location is fun Cons: parking is tight, can be noisy inside more

Hit & Miss 6/7/2002

Caruos is hit and miss sometimes. The food is okay it use to be good but over the last couple of years the sauces have become bland. There is always a new hotess every week. The service is hit and miss as well. I can think of a better Italian resturant to go to. But if you like the Buzz where this resturant is located than this is definately your place. It's fairly inexpensive. Pros: Great location, Cheap eats, great patio Cons: sauces can be bland, Service can be awful more
