Best

I can't relate to the negative reviews on this place. I have never have a bad meal here. I have been coming for more than five years. Parking can be tricky if you demand close and...

Worst

I like the food here but it's pretty spendy for what you get. My biggest problem with this place is the service. The staff forgets food, doesn't apologize, and overall treats you ...

Great for a romantic night out. 5/10/2005

We went to Cafe Molise for our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. The live music, food and wine combined to make a wonderful evening. The bill was very reasonable considering the food we ate. Definitely try their filet mignon. Pros: Food, Price, Ambiance more

Disappointed 1/14/2005

When the Molise first opened I was pleased that Salt Lake had a resturant which reminded me of my mothers cooking. She was from Abrutzi, a province that is just south of Molise in Italy. Putting delicately cooked pork with Lasagna (and with other tomato sauces) was familiar. HOWEVER, the Lasagna I had last night had tough pork sausage and the sauce was blunt, bitter and poorly seasoned. The Penne Sugo's sauce was the same and when we said it was not at all to our liking, (something I have done once in my life) the irritated waitress said, she would ""fix it."" The plate sat, untouched the whole evening. Nothing was done. This should not happen in any 9.5 rated resturant. The Gamberi Puttanes(pasta with shrimp) had 6 shrimp, $17.50. Roasted lamb and mutton are the meats of choice in Molise as well as many vegetables and savory sauces. Pros: it's Italian, 50% authentic Cons: , spotty quality, overpriced more

Great experience at Caffe Molise! 1/20/2004

Excellent experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Caffe Molise. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. Pros: authentic Italian, Great Service Cons: parking... more

Keep it up! 11/21/2003

Whenever we have visitors from out of town we make a reservation at Caffe Molise. The food is phenomenal. Staff are professional and attentive, and remember us, and the one time we had a minor issue (in the 5+ years we've been dining here) the management listened and definitely made it right. I've been to private parties here and events catered by them and it's consistently well-prepared and delicious. Fred, you've got it right. Pros: lovely place, lovely food more

A family friendly restaurant?!?! 10/20/2003

I love Caffe Molise, but I would hardly consider it a family restaurant as listed in City Search's ""Family Friendly Restaurants."" To my knowledge, they don't have a kids menu! And, I wonder how it could be rated as a romantic spot AND a family friendly restaurant?! City Search blew it in terms of a family friendly restaurant - but it is a quality restaurant nonetheless. Do yourself a favor -- visit Caffe Molise for a romantic dinner for two, and leave the kids at home! more

WONDERFUL!!! 10/5/2003

My visit to Caffe Molise was great and I will definitely return. This is why: 1. Authentic flavors. It is obvious that Caffe Molise uses quality ingredients and the result is great tasting food. 2. The patio is phenomenal. In the middle of downtown, it is the best by far. 100 South street is very quiet and all you can hear is the fountain (or the Jazz band if they're playing). 3. Service. I've been to Caffe Molise many, many times and I have only had slow service once. There are other good Italian restaurants downtown, but Caffe Molise is the best. At lunch I usually get one of their salads--the Spinaci or the Chicken--and at dinner, my favorite is the shrimp pasta dish. Their specials are always good and the Lasagne is the best. Pros: Food, Service, Patio, Location, Specials Cons: Can be loud more

HORRIBLE!!! 7/21/2003

My visit to Caffe Molise was horrible and I will never return. This is why: 1. Only two servers for the entire restaurant. Service was excruciatingly slow. 2. We waited 20 minutes for a server to take our order. No water, no silverwear. Nothing. 3. My date and I had the spaghettini al pomodoro and the penne al sugo. The spaghettini al pomodoro was bland and was nothing more than tomatoes and spaghettini. No flavor, no basil. It was runny and watery. The penne al sugo was also bland, runny, watery, and was really nothing more than some pot roast meat with over-cooked penne. The worst part was that all of this garbage cost me $41 including tax and gratuity. I will never visit Caffe Molise again. I should have gone to Al Forno's. Date of visit: 7/18/2003 at 8:15pm. Cons: bland food, expensive, poor service more

Italy, it ain't... 10/27/2002

I've been a fan for years but lately I think Molise needs to re-examine its fare. It's gone from excellent to marginal. The staff and service are both above average but the execution of the menu items is marginal. You haven't lost me yet Molise. Check out Cafe Terigo in Park City as a model for your continued success. Pros: service, location Cons: marginal food more

Caffe Delish, more like. 8/26/2002

Easily housing the best French-Italian cuisine in Utah, Caffe Molise has something to offer everyone. The pasta sauces are tangy and rich, the pasta itself never anything less than perfectly al dente. The art on the walls is equally pleasing to the palate, and the wait staff friendly and helpful. Should definitely be ranked in the top three restaurants in Salt Lake. more

Salt Lake City, Italy. 8/26/2002

Found in Molise, Utah. The best food available. You can't beat the patio at dusk. Pros: Great food, Italian wine selectio, Great food more

A little part of Italy right here in SLC 8/26/2002

This is the only restaurant in Salt Lake that I recommend when people I know ask for a good restaurant and is the first place I take out of towners. Everything about the Caffe is wonderful and fresh. The outside patio is the perfect place to dine for summer evenings and in the winter the inside is enchantingly warm, cozy, and friendly. The food is the abosulte BEST italian I have ever tasted. Pros: No better food around, enchanting embience, value is excellent more

So good, so good, so good. 8/25/2002

Caffe Molise has been a word-of-mouth best-kept secret for years! They catered my wedding and it was incredible. My favorite is their bruschetta, and I love their salad dressing. Don't get me started on their tiramisu! Pros: Good value, great patio, beautiful wines more

quiet and classy 7/29/2002

Caffe Molise was a great place to take my girlfriend for our anniversary. The food was excellent, but they had run out of desert by 10 pm. That was the only drawback though. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pros: small, quiet more

Fab, darling! 7/23/2002

For lunch, I recomend the ""big-as-a-"" house salad. The orcchetti with the spicy sausage, wild mushrooms and carmilized onions is the best pasta dish in Utah. It will keep you full until you eat again. Pros: helpful staff Cons: too expensive more
