Good Food, Overpriced, Horrible Service 6/27/2010

I like the food here but it's pretty spendy for what you get. My biggest problem with this place is the service. The staff forgets food, doesn't apologize, and overall treats you like they're doing you a favor. It's really unfortunate because this place could be so much better, the staff just ruins it. Pros: Delicious food. Cons: It's not worth the money and the service is awful. more

never going back 3/6/2010

The Scene -- A Saturday night -- busy but not overly so. We could not imagine that it would take over an hour to get our food. And when it finally arrived, all of our dishes were cold or luke warm. The taste was nothing special either. My son suggested that the Penne pasta was no better than what he gets at Noodles and Co. where it arrives within 10 minutes and is served hot! Caffe Molise -- Not recommended. Pros: the art on the walls Cons: poor service, cold food, overpriced more

a 3-way disappointment 3/3/2010

We ordered 3 different dishes, none of us could eat our dinner. They seem to be into style, but really missed the mark with the cooking. Pros: Garden setting, central location Cons: The food more

This is a must go! 7/17/2009

I love Molise! The owner is hysterically funny. The food is incredible Try the Bruschetta Misto! So good. I don't agree at all that its not worth the price. The Misto is like, $9 dollars. And yes the patio is awesome. Pros: Appetizers, Owner, Cons: small, a little loud more

NOT WORTH IT 7/30/2008

While the patio is very nice, that is about it. I have tried the restaurant serveral times (hoping it would improve) but have never been impressed with anything except the patio! The food and service is VERY inconsistent! I have had good and terrible servers (who no nothing about the the food or wine they are serving!) If you can catch the restaurant on a slow night the food is ok, (but always over priced) and you could probably get a better meal at the Olive Garden than you could on a busy night at Caffe Molise. If you don't care, and no nothing about food the patio is very pretty and you might enjoy yourself, however if not, steer clear.\r Pros: patio Cons: everything else more

amazing Sunday Brunch 2/1/2008

I can't relate to the negative reviews on this place. I have never have a bad meal here. I have been coming for more than five years. Parking can be tricky if you demand close and free- if you are a little more reasonable then you will plan accordingly to avoid disappointment. Come on, it's the city! Take trax!\r We love the specials and also the gnochi. But the Sunday Brunches are to die for! I am scared to mention it because it feels like our little secret and we never have to wait to get in Sunday morning. Eggs benedict, proper breakfast sandwiches, and mimosas! more

What happened?? Don't expect anything from this place... 1/11/2008

Came so highly recommended to me, a foodie, and I remember looking at my ""Power of Intention"" cards today reminding me to give love, although all people may not deserve it... I entered with a warm open heart, and was sourly disappointed, from moment 1. Highlights: wiated nearly 10 min for uninterested waitor, borishly recited specials...about 15 min of empty glass of wine. Had to ask other server for another glass. Weak overly oily salad, And bland entree!! Bruschetta-best part of night. Complete waste my money when all I expected was some life out of the waistaff and the food. Save your money and go to Trio. Pros: Bruschetta, Good Jazz on Friday nights Cons: bored servers, don't care. Food was poor, bland, could've gotten better food at Olive Garden more

amazing patio not so amazing service 6/1/2007

The outdoor patio doesnt get any better. Our waiter was horrible. The only time we saw him is when took our orders and brought us our bill. He didnt even tell us his name! He forgot my husbands drink order and passed a few times without asking if we needed anything. The food was good, but nothing special. The salad was anything but tasty. For the price, I expected a lot more, especially from the wait staff. We wont be returning. Pros: outdoor patio Cons: service, over cooked food more

Fabulous! 4/23/2007

Molise's food has to be some of the best in this state. I have eaten there on several occasions but few could compare to the Sunday night we shared a few weeks ago. Service was above average and the food was supreme! From the other reviews I have read, it seems like the right night is the biggest part of dining there. My friends and I will definately return. I am a chef in this valley and would have to say that they keep us running for the money. Try it out, I know I'll be back. Pros: Open on Sunday nights, a rarity in this valley! Cons: None for me. more

You Have To Try It 3/1/2007

We had a wonderful experience at Caffe Molise. Brunch on Sunday is awesome. We were greeted promptly and everyone was very friendly. Our food was mouth-watering. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent, service was wonderful and the atmosphere is beautiful. Highly recommend to anyone. Pros: Excellent Food, Beautiful Decor, Pleasant Staff, Brunch is not to Miss! more

AVOID PERIOD 2/16/2007

This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had and we will never go back. We waited one and half hours for our entrees becuase the kitchen could not handle a full restaurant. The food was bland and undercooked, like it was rushed out of the kitchen. We had a similiar experience 3 years and had not been back and thought tonight would be different, but nothing has changed. The service and food were terrible and I would not recommend this restaraunt TO ANYONE, especially if you want to recieve your meal in a decent amount of time. Starter salads took an hour to come out of the kitchen which was ridiculous since all is was was too much vinegar, lettuce and cheese and nothing else. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS A DECENT MEAL IN A REASONABLE TIME. If the kitchen can't handle a full restaraunt then they should close or limit the number of people. Cons: THE ENTIRE DINING EXPERIENCE more

Definitely not Olive Garden... much better! 2/15/2007

I had never heard of this restaurant (or even seen it when I pass by every month) but I was told I should visit. And I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is small (seats maybe 100-150 people??) and cozy. The waiters were very prompt and helpful. The food tasted 10x better than any Americanized Italian restaurant. The price was just right for a good value. Pros: Great food, waiters helpful, good ambience Cons: Parking difficult to find but there is a parking lot just down the street more

If you are looking for a place to compare to Olive Garden don't come here. This is better. 1/2/2007

The food here is from the Molise region of Italy. They are not serving Americanized Italian food as many of the other main stream restaurants are. The chefs do a great job of keeping the food authentic. I have been bringing out of town guests to this local treasure for years and we are never disappointed. I suggest showing up a little early on the weekends to take advantage of the live music at night . Take your time, order some wine, enjoy the flavors of the food and the fun atmosphere, our experiences here usually last 2 hours or more. Do not be afraid to ask about a item on the menu before ordering, I have had the chefs gladly come out and personally explain menu items, which is a perfect touch to our dining experience here. In the summer dine outside, it is perfect for a romantic date. My thanks to the staff. Pros: Local, Downtown, live music on weekends Cons: Food is too good! more

Uneven. Some highs some lows 8/7/2006

While well regarded, I found the restaurant unpredictable in its execution. \r \r Appetizers have all been good, though they aren't geared for mainstream american tastes. \r \r Pasta is properly cooked, a sad rarity in italian food in America. I though the suaces tended to be bland, so pair them up with something exciting. Portions are adequate, but skimpy by modern standards. I'd score that as a problem for overwieght diners, not Cafe Molise. Pros: Attention to detail Cons: Still not reliably good more

Worth trying, not much more..... 6/19/2006

Our visit (06/20/06) was anything but perfect. Very slow and rather poor service for the level of business and the 'class' of establishment. The food was also just fair, nothing over the top or shocking. The salad was nothing worth writing home about, especially the NON-EXISTENT dressing. If you feel like being adventureous you might give Caffe Molise a try, but it has not met my standards and won't be a place that I frequent or return to. Pros: Good fresh & HOT bread Cons: Service, parking, menu selection more

Great Spot to Wine and Dine 3/9/2006

The weekends at Molisse feature a live Jazz band, which makes for a fun atmosphere. I love their Polenta and their Mozarella antipasti with Balsamic Vinegar and ripe tomatoes is addictive. Molisse has been consistently delicious and is relatively affordable, particularly in light of the superb quality of the food. It is definitely a favorite. Pros: Mozarella, Polenta, Jazz Band Weekends Cons: Parking more

Extremely Impressed 1/13/2006

Never been to Caffe Molise before and was beyond pleased. The food was authentic and full of flavor - the Arista is to die for! My friend is vegetarian and the server was very helpful in recommending options for her. The ambiance is great and the service is exceptional. I heard how wonderful their patio is in the summer and can't wait to try it out. This place is ideal for a date or even a group get-together. It was definitely exceeded my expectations and have been recommending it to everyone! Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance more

It was okay. 10/29/2005

Our experience at Caffe Molise was mostly a bummer. Caffe Molise has an excellent looking menu. The ambiance is nice, the art is a treat, the music is wonderful, and the service is excellent. But the food is pretty unreliable. Two of the four dishes we tried were delicious (pork entree and clam appetizer), the other two were totally blag (squash soup and salmon special). With more quality control in the kitchen the experience could have been yummy and memorable. Instead we had buyer's remorse. Pros: service, ambiance, location Cons: food more
