SLOWEST SERVICE FROM HIPPY'S WITH ATTITUDE PROBLEMS 12/5/2011

Do not eat here unless you have an hour to waste waiting for a bagel delivered by an employee that looks and smells as if they haven't showered in a month. Especially noted the extremely rude brunette behind the counter who looks as if fleas from her dreads are infesting the cafe. Would NOT recommend to anyone unless you have the whole day to waste with hippy's with an attitude problem. more

Awesome, out-of-the-way find. 8/4/2010

Some might feel this place is ""divey"", but I found it cozy and not as draining on the pocketbook as other coffee houses in this part of Denver. I think this establishment also has a very eclectic assortment of patrons which makes the experience even more interesting. As the previous review says there are indeed plenty of drink variations available for those with dairy intolerences or even sugar restrictions. more

Hidden, but not overlooked. 9/30/2008

Nice out-of-the-way hangout compleat with couches and adequate lighting for the readers. The patio out front (probally made for the smokers) attracts neighbourhood musicians and it's not uncommon to hear live music playing on arriving. This place is also very accomodating to customers with special needs, such as my ""no milk or dairy in my drinks"" condition. Pros: Comfortable atmosphere. Cons: May be difficult to find for someone not familiar with area. more

Everything but the atmosphere is disappointing 8/30/2008

Ive been to Cafe Europa twice and wont return. The service is unbelievably slow, the place is dirty, and the food is below average. Clearly under poor management, the staff struggles to even get a cup of coffee out in a reasonable amount of time. The cream and sugar counter looked as thought it hadnt been cleaned in a week. Bins of dirty dishes and food scarps sit around the restaurant for the many feasting flies. Pros: Cool location Cons: Poor service, food, and lacks cleanliness more

Owner could be nicer...Breakfast should be later 3/28/2008

Not really that freindly which stinks..it's the reason I don't go to Stella's..Breakfast should be all day on Sunday...Also when they are walking around they should pick up dirty plates and wipe the crumbs that are EVERYWHERE..the couches are gross.. Pros: cool people show up Cons: workers could be more friendly more

very dissapointed 2/5/2008

I am so dissapointed at this place. Cafe Eurpoa used to be such a good environment to be in and the food used to be wonderfull. The old owner sold the place and not it's going downhill. I will not return and neither will by friends. Not to mention rude costomer service. Where are all the origianl beatiful art work that used to be here. I know they sold it as is so where are they all. NOT RETURNING TO THIS PLACE AT ALL. Pros: Good looking place thank to previous owners Cons: Food is not good more

Long live Cafe Europa! 1/10/2008

This is a delightful, laid-back West Wash Park neighborhood hangout that's more than just a coffee shop. This space has undergone several changes of ownership, and the present incarnation keeps me coming back for more. Cafe Europa features a terrific menu with daily specials and sponsors innovative events like movie nights and holiday specials. I go there often, and the staff and owner are always friendly, courteous, and helpful and go above and beyond in service. That the previous reviewer felt poorly treated makes me wonder whether THEY weren't the ones with a chip on their shoulder. Nobody's perfect, but in my experience, the owner and staff are unfailingly respectful and welcoming. Cafe Europa and its staff are a great asset to our 'hood. Pros: Friendly staff, good service, great food & coffee, ambiance, location Cons: What's not to like? more

Very rude owner 5/2/2007

I used to frequent Cafe Europa often. I love the feel of the place but things have changed with its new ownership. The young owner seems to have a chip on her shoulder. She is extremely rude to customers who are buying HER coffee. After she was rude to me, my friends and my colleagues, I have had to find a new coffee shop after many years of going to Europa. Pros: nice setting, beautiful artwork Cons: the young owner more

A hidden gem in West Wash Park north of Alameda 2/14/2007

A wonderful spot to just be. A hidden gem in wash Park. While there, you can enjoy a wonderful coffee beverage, take in the ambience, and wonder whether or not that nearby Kitchen Gallery is nothing but a front for the mob or not (never see anyone going in or coming out of there - it should be converted to a Trader Joe's as they are not in Colorado yet). Pros: Location, alternative to corporate coffee. Cons: Hard to think of anything, other than the usual complaint that coffee shop doesn't sell many 25 cent cups of joe. more

Hidden Treasure 12/26/2004

Recently I was visiting Colorado from the Bay Area. I was looking to move to the Washington Park area and during my search I discovered a unique coffee shop. Cafe Europa is really a hidden treasure. It has great breakfast food; burritos, pastries and even a variety of omelettes. The coffee drinks are amazing. The service people are friendly and outgoing, making me feel very welcome. They even have wireless internet access which I could enjoy from the comfort of an overstuffed couch using my laptop. This place is fantastic. I even saw that they rent out the space for events such as office parties, dinner parties or other special occasions. I highly recommend this coffee shop, it is by far the best place to enjoy a cup of coffee in Denver. Pros: inexpensive, ambiance, great food and drink more

Europa comes to life ..... 12/2/2002

I love Cafe Europa. This is a place where the atmosphere is pleasant, warm and welcoming. The place has been nicely decorated with natural color schemes and the food is AMAZING. What about the Il Tuscano ..... WOW. Brunch is just as satisfying as their warm sandwiches are. Cafe Europa surely has been the best addition to the W. Washington Park area.......where has it been all this time. A must to stop by and taste some great food and have some great conversation with the owner, staff, or other customers.....Great Job - Keep it up Cafe Europa more

Try the ""Fifth Avenue"", Yum! 10/22/2002

Europa is great! The colorful decor really attracted me to this place, and the food (fresh-baked goods, tasty sandwiches) and the friendly people keep me coming back again and again. Very comfortable, and the music is always fresh and inspiring. My only hesitation is a slight lack of outlets to plug in my laptop, but that will probably change soon. If it were on a slightly busier street, it might be a little more lively, but for me, that is part of the appeal! Highly recommended. more
