CAMCO

Can someone PLEASE, PLEASE explain to me why it's taking over two months for me to get my request to remove my lawn and put down desert landscape? I keep getting the same old song "" I send out reminders to the Board weekly"". I pay my dues on time and this is horrible service. I'm beginning to get the impression that they are trying to run me out the neighborhood. I am not going no where. more

My current (and previous home) is in a HOA managed by CAMCO and I have never had a bad experience with them. If you follow your CCRs and pay your bill you won't have an issue and the few times I have had to call the office for anything the staff has always been polite and helpful!! more

I've lived in 2 CAMCO communities. Problems in both! We had one amazing community manager, but she left. The current one plays favorites, is rude to most, causes problems between neighbors...and I WAS the HOA prez. I resigned because I didn't want people to think I was part of the disregard of CC&Rs by KB Home & CAMCO. They need to be investigated. CC&R rules are a JOKE to them!! more

Very poor service to the ones they are suppossed to be serving. They give authorization to a bunch of thieves to take your car even when you are within the limits of the postings. more

This HOA company is the absolute worst!! I have been the President of my HOA for several years and Camco was our management company. About a year ago, we found out they were stealing money from us and charging us fees for items that were supposed to be included in our contract. They even tried to get us to sign an updated contract telling us it was the same as our old one that they had ""misplaced"" yet come to find out it was brand new and included tons of fees we shouldn't have been charged for. When we called the Ombudsman's department to report what was going on, they told us Camco could not get away with it they had to honor our prior contract. When we told Camco that we contacted the Ombudsman's department, they immediately cancelled our contract before we could cancel it with them. They did eventually refund our money so we wouldn't file a complaint against them. Now, a year later, after we switched management companies, they are trying to send us another bill for over $1,000 they claim we owe them for things that have no record of. Do yourself and your homeowners a favor and stay far, far away from this company. more

They are horrible. They pick the homeowners off one at a time. They will harass you in violation of the CC&Rs. They do not return calls, respond to emails or letters or answers questions at Board Meetings. Their violation notices are inconsistent and incorrect. They will not allow anyone access to the community records. They are useless! more

I've had CAMCO Nevada as the HOA for my community for a few years now, and as a long distance property owner, I have not had great experiences with them. As much as I would like to agree that HOAs in general have some importance in regards to ensuring the neighborhood and keeping the properties in the community in decent condition as possible, one would also agree that HOAs have to be reasonable and worth the cost. My experience with CAMCO has been otherwise. Violation warnings are issued and sent with little to no regard on how long it takes long distance owners to assess the situation and implement a solution through their management/tenants. Written description of violations are vague and almost subjective. And no photos are collected to clearly identify the violation so that it can be quickly and efficiently corrected the first time. First time violations are considered ""warnings"" however, not knowing for sure that your first-time-fix was enough to satisfy the HOA, a second violation is sent, instead of, ""sorry, it wasn't good enough the first time"" or ""that's not the violation issue that I vaguely meant"". And all of this ""great policing"" justifies a 30% increase in monthly dues??! Did they not realize that homeowners especially in the state of NV, got hit the most by the bad economy? These experiences include not only myself but also other home owners in the same community. more
