Don't Shop Here! 11/6/2012

I would not recommend this store to my worst enemy. They have nice furniture and the store owner, Rico, was nice in person and helpful (had good opinions on style and color). He promised us superior customer service and his sales associate, Danny, promised us our order in 8-10 weeks (at the most, his exact words). We purchased two sofas (a big chunk of money and investment for us for a new home). Danny was completely unresponsive and only gave me limited information on the status of my furniture. I only heard from him after I first contacted him. Finally, after 15 weeks and my emailing and calling to see what was wrong, we finally got one of our sofas. The other, after 18 weeks, still MIA. He won't give me any tracking information on where the sofa is, just keeps making up BS and side stepping without any substance. He tells me he is working on it and he is doing his job. Ha. I am not an idiot. If you don't have any clue what is going on or what has happened it is pretty obvious. Now I finally hear from him today (the first email he has sent me of his own accord since I have placed my order) and he tells me it will be here next week by Friday. Ha! I am not holding my breath. Don't buy anything from these guys. They don't do their job and they just don't care. I have ordered several other big pieces from other bigger, more reputable stores and received my order quickly and without hassle. I went with this store because I wanted to promote the little guys and local businesses, but the customer service at this place is atrocious. I guess that is what you lose when you try and buy local??!! more

Gorgeous modern furnishings 12/19/2005

Rico stocks some of the best quality modern furnishings in Brooklyn. Prices are on the high side, but so is quality. Most of what he sells is special order, so you can custom order the upholster on all or most of what he sells. In addition to furniture, Rico also sells innovative lighting fixtures (which I believe he designs himself), as well as contemporary art work. My only gripe is the price - I can't afford most of it! But I appreciate his taste as well as the fact that he is comitted to making Atlantic Avenue a more lively stretch of home-related shops. more
