Very rude manager and owner 7/26/2015

Review of Eylander Electric\r \r The service for which Eylander was hired was a very simple one for a home – patch up a nicked wire, and install a new outlet on our front porch.\r \r After two visits by their electrician and five visits by the rather rude supervisor, and a visit to their business to talk with the owner... the new outlet still does not work. The supervisor is also refusing to come back out to our house to complete the job. They charged $600 for this disservice, $100 of which the supervisor dodged answering for in the invoice – overcharge!!\r \r Personalities of the supervisor and owner are disgraceful. In our experience, Jim Eylander (the owner) and John Eylander (his son, the supervisor) are clearly 'classic' males – thinking that women can have no brains, and that customers do not know anything about being an electrician. Jim talks down to customers and does not listen to customers (not because he can't with his age, but because he won't... he ignores what you say and more

Review of Eylander Electric\r \r The service for which Eylander was hired was a very simple one for a home ? patch up a nicked wire, and install a new outlet on our front porch.\r \r After two visits by their electrician and five visits by the rather rude supervisor, and a visit to their business to talk with the owner... the new outlet still does not work. The supervisor is also refusing to come back out to our house to complete the job. They charged $600 for this disservice, $100 of which the supervisor dodged answering for in the invoice ? overcharge!!\r \r Personalities of the supervisor and owner are disgraceful. In our experience, Jim Eylander (the owner) and John Eylander (his son, the supervisor) are clearly 'classic' males ? thinking that women can have no brains, and that customers do not know anything about being an electrician. Jim talks down to customers and does not listen to customers (not because he can't with his age, but because he won't... he ignores what you say and interrupts to continue his own talking.)\r \r After their electrician installed the outlet and left, we nudged it (it looked a little crooked) and IT SPARKED AND SMOKED!! Clearly something wrong, and not safe! Immediately called the supervisor and had him send the electrician back. Supposedly, fixing that part of the problem.\r \r When we tried actually using the outlet the next day, it was 'dead'. Another visit by the (now angry) supervisor), with no resolution from it. The only outcome was the supervisor saying very angrily that our house was the problem and not his worker's job.\r \r My wife pointed out where the problem may come from (short answer ? they tapped into the wrong wire ? the middle of a three-way circuit), but John the supervisor completely ignored her. He does NOT like being told his work is wrong. Same results from talking to Jim the owner. ?You're not an electrician! You don't know what you're talking about!? and interrupting us, the customers, constantly. Half hour conversation with him got absolutely nowhere. (Note: We have installed a dozen programmable thermostats in the house, replaced countless outlets and switches, rewired antique light fixtures, moved high voltage heaters...all by ourselves. We know some things about moving electrons around!) \r \r I could go on for 15 more pages (that's how much I wrote for my own records)! But, too many details to be interesting for a review.\r \r So, bottom line - $600 for a non-working outlet, and being talked down to almost every step of the way. Zero customer service, 100% customer DISservice. more

We have used Jim Eylander and his company for year! They are professional and friendly and would recommend them to anyone. We have a 100 yr old house with lots of strange wiring issues and they have replaced knob & tube and come up with answers to electrical problems that happen in a old home. more

Rude Staff 9/9/2010

Got a recommendation from a real estate agent for this company. After hiring them for their services, I definitely do not recommend them to others. Their customer service team in their office is always rude and short on the phone with me and act as though I'm interrupting their day when I call. They were 1 hour and 45 minutes late for the install of my furnace and I got no phone call to let me know they would be late or that they still planned on showing. When I called them to see if they were still coming, they had no idea what time they would be there and just said that the guy probably got a late start and then had to pick-up materials. Like I said before, I do not recommend this company to others. more

Did the most for the money! 9/4/2008

In doing a home theater remodel complete with lighting controls and dedicated panel, they gave me options to lower the price and get the most work for my project size. Not the cheapest but I'm not looking for a "cheap" job - I was looking for quality work. The gentlemen they sent worked non-stop through the day to get the job finished at a pace I've never seen for the "by-the-hour" option I chose. Great company and service! I'll definitely call them for my next project. more

If work quality was directly related to how well they treat others...... 11/8/2007

Stop and go traffic, not moving but more than 5 mph on 405 and they wouldn't let me on the freeway, me being in an exit-only lane with about 500 ft. to go. I had my signal on and even waved to the guy and he pretty much told me to screw off - your not getting in. \r \r Hope they don't treat their customers in the same manner. Certainly will look elsewhere if I ever need electrical work done. \r \r Just because you're on the freeway, and not at the job site/in front of a particualr customer, doesn't mean what you do doesn't have consequences. more

Trustworthy Business 5/2/2007

I would definitely recommend Eylander. I hired them for a small repair job and they worked fast, were honest, and their pricing was fair. I have used several electricians before, and they won't be coming back. But Eylander Electric certainely will. more

Great Electricans 3/30/2005
