Edie's Vintage Rose Room

I have driven by this shop many times, and last Thursday, I saw a vintage 70's dress on the sidewalk. I stopped in, and OMG !!!! This store was literally packed with authentic Vintage hats, accessories, shoes, clothing and things I would never have thought of !!!! I bought a vintage hat ( all her vintage is in pristine condition, with many old Shillito's items ) and a riding jacket. Her prices are good and great if you live in a larger city. It's worth an extra couple dollars to own a one-of-a-kind vintage item than an off-the-rack poorly constructed knock-off! This was the first time I had met the shop keep, and she was so much fun, loved vintage as much as I do! I am a fashion blogger, and am familiar with vintage. Her stuff is the real thing, though she did have a few items that weren't ""vintage"" yet ( over 20yrs. old) but she was open about the items that were not vintage. i love this shop, and the owner is so adorable and kind. I found a fabulous, never-before worn, with original tags on, blue winter coat from the 1960s, a lovely delicate vintage necklace and a unique apron. her prices are very reasonable, and although her store is small and she has limited hours, it is fun to sort through all the goodies. I also saw several really cute dresses from the 60s and 70s, and would have bought them, but they didn't fit. but that's how shopping for vintage goes sometimes. she has a great assortment of shoes too. right now, she has some fabulous yellow pumps with flowers on the toes from the 1930s are on display that i am dying to buy. please, if you like vintage, take the trip to cheviot and meet Edie. Her store suffered from two years of road construction in Cheviot and she really needs some customers! ALSO she is not on Glenmore anymore. She is at 3241 Harrison Avenue, in Cheviot. more

I hesitate to write a review because this has been my ""hidden treasure"" on the west side for years. Please disregard the negative review below. The owner is ADORABLE (gives me hugs when I come in!) and more than willing to pull amazing pieces out of storage if you tell her what you're looking for. Granted, there is a partition for a fitting room, but it does the job. I intern in NY half the year (for my fashion design program) and can say that Edie's vintage has some incredible pieces for less than half of the price in NY. The hats are beautiful and unique! Furthermore, there is plenty of parking at her new location on Glenmore. She's only open Thurs, Fri, and Sat, but you can call and tell her when you want to come and she'd probably come in for you. Give yourself enough time to dig, you will not regret it. Visit Edie, but please leave some of the loot for me!
