A Must See in Denver 7/13/2009

I take every one of my out of town guests here. The atmosphere is unique and the wait staff are hilarious! It can be a little campy, but I think that adds to the overall fabulousness of this cafe. Pros: Amazing Atmosphere/Decor Cons: Long Waits more

awesome! 6/17/2009

They have the freshest food and serve big portions (no skimping). The weekend brunch with the transvestites is HY-sterical. Pros: food, entertainment more

Less than family friendly 4/2/2009

Do not be fooled...this is not a family-friendly restaurant. The food itself was excellent and the chef took great care in cooking the food, but the service was very poor and a server dressed like Marilyn Monroe with bad teeth/smokers teeth, made the experience less appealing. Pros: Food Cons: Dining experience/service more

Love it!!!! 12/24/2008

Oh, I love this place. Usually wait a while, but what a fun crowd to wait with. Fun is the name of the game here..from the time you get there til you leave you are entertained. And fed, so much food in their servings. It's a toss up whether I like the food or the people who work and go there the best. I've, been back again and again and again...and will keep on going. Pros: Everything Cons: very crowded, but worth it. more

Eclectic food, efficient service 2/25/2008

This place has very unique and tasty food served up in a tacky, campy style by personable cross dressing wait staff - very busy place, plan to wait. Bakery items are delish and so is the food if you are open minded (you won't find any 'standards' on this menu.) Adults young and old will enjoy it, HOWEVER...... at least one of the wait staff has apparently become a local celebrity, and his risque 'performance art bit' and choice of clothing is too over-the-top for younger children. Pros: Personable, efficient wait staff Cons: Music a little too loud to converse more

Best baker & chef in all of Colorado if not the world 7/26/2007

The owner/baker/chef is simply brilliant. He creates not only always the most delicious items -- from the best bagel & lox in town (and most affordable) to artichoke chicken sandwiches with divine slaw that is light & perfectly right, to simply the best baked goods ever made-- but also the most original food in town. You will never have another peanut butter cookie (topped with a chocolate caramel kiss) anywhere else again. Oh, and the carrot cake, the pecan sandy's, the lattes, the gazpacho soup, the... everything -- there's not one item on his menu from his original BLT sandwich to his mac & cheese that won't make you want to write home to Mom. Plus everything is totally fresh and hand-made. You'll never be disappointed. His creations are phenomenal and his menu is sensational. Go there fast! Bump & Grind is open at 7am (except Mon & Tues) for breakfast & lunch & afternoon cafe plus there's the famous & one & only Petticoat Brunch on Saturday & Sunday's. Biscuits & Gravy will never be the same again! Pros: Best & freshest most original food in town -- and very affordable Cons: They're only in Denver and not all over the world more

A Denver Landmark 4/12/2007

If you haven't been to Bump & Grind, you're missing out. This is as much a part of Denver as the Molly Brown House and the State Capitol, only a lot more fun! You know you are about to have a unique experience as you walk up and see the slightly shabby pink and green striped store front and Barbi Dolls and shower curtains in the window. Once inside, the delicious smells coming from the tiny kitchen let you know you've come to the right place. Pros: Delicious, Large portions, Low prices, Homemade food Cons: Closed Mon & Tues, Lines on weekends more

a bit odd for our taste, but fun nonetheless 1/11/2007

this place was crowded when we arrived, clearly the place to be on a saturday morning. the ""waitresses"" were friendly and seemed like they enjoyed themselves, too. i had the mexican benedict and my bf had the cheesy strata - both were good and served with a great assortment of fresh fruit. the decor is a little on the kitschy side, but i guess most people enjoy that.... Pros: fresh fruit, fun staff Cons: decor tries a bit too hard to be hip more

Mattel would love this! 3/27/2006

Alice never encountered anything like this in wonderland. This is a unique experience in Denver and even challenges the avant garde ambience of San Francicso. All the waitresses in the joint wear mini-skirts, and all the waitresses in the joint wear too much make-up, and all the waitresses are men. This is a great place for the creative, eclectic, and individualists. It is sure to offend and amuse the arrogantly conservative while keeping the real people entertained and involved. Smiles prevade the employees and the clientele, making it a great place to stop before going anywhere on a weekend romp. We were greeted in a friendly manner as soon as we walked in, and given a choice of inside or outside. I reccomend eating inside to enjoy the ambience inside. Pros: ambiance, food, service more

Lived up to reviews! 12/2/2005

I read about Bump and Grind on this site and had to go check it out. The guys' outfits were hilarious! They were dancing, very friendly, and attentive (their teamwork made it seem like all of them were waiting on me). The food was GREAT! I had Mexican Eggs Benedict with Pineapple Cornbread. I thought it sounded odd, but the server suggested it, so I got it. It is by far my favorite eggs benedict (and I eat this dish almost everywhere I go - it's my favorite). The coffee wasn't as good as people had raved about, but then again - are you really going just for the coffee? TRY IT!! This place was a real find! Pros: Great Food, Entertaining, Great Value more

Prom Morning 5/22/2005

I went there the morning after Prom. It was an amazing experience. The waiters were fun, with a do whatever - whenever attitude. The atmosphere was fun. The food is probably the best breakfast food in Colorado. And the coffee is great - especailly the morning after Prom. Get there early on weekends, because it can be hard to get seating in this fun, silly, and crossdressing cafe. Pros: waiters, food Cons: seating more

Great Coffee and Fun too 6/16/2004

What better way to spend your 5th Wedding Anniversary than breakfast at Bump & Grind. Though the waiter did say that if this was all we had planned for our anniversary he had to have a chat with my husband. We had a wonderful meal. The food is excellent! And the coffee is poured non-stop and tastes wonderful! We were a little perplexed by the Toy Box description as we didn't see too many toys, but the food, staff, and atmosphere will keep us coming back for years to come. Everything looked tasty, we ordered their famous egg roulade and it was amazing! We left with a bag of cookies that were equally a delight. Pros: inexpensive, good parking more

Excellent adventure 5/14/2004

Sunday brunch was a true experience. Eclectic atmosphere, staff in drag, and the food (particularly at the price) was out of this world. The biscuits and gravy with sausage on the side was the best I have ever had. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Staff more

Absolutely Delightful! 4/24/2004

My husband, sister-in-law and attended the wacky and wonderful Petticoat Bruncheon this morning. On the weekends, male members of the waitstaff dress in drag and serve incredibly scrumptuous breakfast food. Combine this with fun toys and assorted wigs and hats that are brought to the table, you have a recipe for adventure. While we were there, men, women and children of all ages had a great time eating incredible food in an accepting and upbeat atmosphere. You absolutely must try this unique eatery! It has quickly become my favorite place to have brunch in Denver. I hope it becomes yours as well. Pros: Fun, Great Food, Ecclectic Atmosphere more

brunch en drag 10/21/2003

This place is hilarious - and I'm old. After an early reticence as to the costumes - two generations of this family enjoyed a wonderful brunch with, and I quote, - ""Every meal comes with a side of Fruit"". Good coffee, good food - and mirth. Highly recommended as both adventure and meal. Pros: the food, Service, Ambiance Cons: headgear more

bump and grind 2/16/2003

The ambiance is amusing, I'll admit that, but that's as nice as I can be. The food was horrible, much too rich in flavor to enjoy it beyond the fourth bite. The eccentric combinations sound delicious, but fail miserably. How they've been voted for the best cup of coffee is beyond me, because it was among the worst cups of coffee I've ever had, when I finally got it that is. The service was nothing to brag about either. From the moment we walked in the door, we were pushed around, moved, and ignored. My favorite part of the whole experience was leaving. You want my advice, check it out for laughs, order something small, and leave quickly. Pros: amusing Cons: bad service, bad food, waste of money more

Great Service/Great Food 12/2/2002

My wife and I went to the Bump and Grind with our 5 month old daughter for brunch. The atmosphere was too loud for our little girl so we had to take the order out mid-way through. It was crowded, but only because it is so worth it. The staff was wonderful, so friendly and helpful in accomodating us with our baby. The eats were top-notch. Can't wait to go back when grandma is in town. Pros: Inexpensive, Service, Food Cons: Loud, Hot, Crowded more

Fun with Food! 11/10/2002

You can't beat the Bump and Grind for the best Brunch in Denver. Great and creative dishes. The waite staff is dressed in outrageous, campy drag attire. Bring a sense of humor and a fun group of friends. Don't forget the fabulous home made desserts! Pros: Big portions, great value, carry out available Cons: may need to wait, Limited hrs on wkend more

Most Colorful Coffeehouse/Cafe 10/14/2002

Without a doubt, Bump and Grind is my favorite coffee place in Denver. Actually, one of my favorites places in Denver...It's very colorful and fun and the staff is great too. They also have excellent breakfast on the weekends. more

YUMMY! 7/31/2002

By far the best weekend brunch in town. Great food, fun atmosphere, great service. Pros: food, atmosphere Cons: crowded more
