Overview
The all-new 2008 Honda Accord features an expanded range of innovative technologies designed for more power, greater efficiency, and enhanced safety across the entire lineup of coupes. The coupe is further individualized with an aggressive stance and unique proportions that create a muscular, sporty demeanor.
Power and Performance
The Accord Coupe is powered by a 190-horsepower 4-cylinder engine or a 268-horsepower V-6 engine with a choice of 5-speed manual (4-cylinder), 6-speed manual (V-6), or 5-speed automatic (all engines) transmission.
Body and Styling
For 2008, the new Accord Coupe dramatically breaks from the Accord Sedan with unique sheet metal, glass, and exterior lighting that create a rakish and aggressive appearance. From its recessed grille, projector-beam halogen headlights and flared wheel arches to its 18-inch wheels - a first for Accord and the biggest ever for a Honda automobile - the Accord Coupe V-6 pushes Accord to new levels of excitement.
Premium quality with a simple, modern, and spacious design describes the philosophy behind the Accord's interior. Rather than adding features to assault the senses with opulence, a variety of design techniques have been used to enhance the feeling of width and space to express premium quality.
Safety Features
Consistent with the “Safety for Everyone” initiative, every 2008 Accord integrates sophisticated safety technology that includes the ACE body structure, side curtain airbags, driver and front passenger dual-chamber side airbags with a passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS), and dual-stage, dual-threshold driver and front passenger airbags (SRS). Additional standard safety features include an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with brake assist, front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, and a pedestrian safety design in the front of the vehicle.
