Best Steaks and Seafood in Denver! 2/11/2011

I have been to most of the steak houses in Denver, and I have to say, Brook's is the cream of the crop. I have gone to Brook's for both celebrations and business dinners, and I have always left full, satisfied, and impressed. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu. My favorite entree is the steak oscar. Do not leave without trying their rich chocolate pudding for dessert! more

Excepetional entree's , wine and service 7/16/2008

Once again I have been awed by the dining experience at Brooks Steak House. In business I have had the opportunity to travel and dine with the finest. Brooks provides high quality entree's paired with a wine list that is second to none. After dining with Brook's for the past two years I once again was provided exceptional service by ( Del Mar ) a young man that is engaging and professional . \r \r This is an independent Steak House and I highly recommend it. Pros: Excellent entree's, excellent service, valet parking more

Better food than other high-end Denver steak houses we've been to 4/27/2008

We have been to Del Friscos and Mortons and found the food superior at Brooks. Prices are high given the outdated decor and casual dining atmosphere. more

No Sommelier on Saturday night 4/12/2008

We have been Brooks customers for years and recently have been disappointed with the experience. Based on their high prices, we cannot recommend dining there.\r Recently we visited on a Saturday night. We asked for help selecting a wine, and we were told that there was no Sommelier on duty. On a Saturday? To me this indicates problems with management.\r Other than that, the lobster was great, steak was so-so, service was OK, bread tasted day-old, vegetables were undercooked, and the creme brulee was very good.\r No longer a good value. Pros: generally good food Cons: so-so service, no sommelier, pricey more

Brooks Leather Factory 2/18/2008

Four steaks as tough as leather. My feeling is three strikes and your out. We were a party of six and ended up with four over cooked, low quality, gristly pieces of meat. I used to be a fan of Brooks, I have however noticed the quality is just not there anymore. The waitress confirmed my sentiments saying that "" she has been hearing more and more complaints"" (we tipped her well, the poor thing). Our side's were cold and tasteless. All in all one of the wost dining experiences we have ever had. Make room Capital Grill there will be six of us. more

Great place! 6/6/2007

I love Brooks Steakhouse! The food is good and the service is awesome. A couple of reviews have said that it was too pricy, but on the contrary to those statements. Don't go to Brooks if your usual eating budget is McDonalds, that is just stupid. Brooks makes amazing steaks and the service is great! It is great for a romantic evening and also, in some rare cases, good for kids, it is really the kids behavior, but if you have good kids it is great! Hope this helps! Pros: Valet, Wait staff, Food more

What a nice surprise! 2/15/2007

We've driven past Brook's for years and always meant to stop in. Of all nights, we decided Valentine's Day was the night to give them a try. What a nice surprise! We made reservations two days prior and yet were not on the list. The front desk never skipped a beat and made every effort to get us in. We sat at the bar for awhile and I had a very yummy lemon drop martini (Good, but not the best I've had - Cheesecake Factory at Park Meadows has Lemon Drops to die for!.. I digress.) While sipping our drinks I noticed how quickly and efficiently the tables were being turned. The restaurant is warm, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hostess came and found us just as we finished our first drinks. We were seated in what appeared to be a banquet room obviously set up for the expected increase in diners. Still very comfortable. The service was fabulous - attentive and friendly. The food was just as we had expected. The steaks were perfectly prepared. No seasoning or frills - just the way they should be. Brook's is not cheap - however not as pricey as Del Frisco or Morton's for the same service and quality of food. To be honest, I did not hold out much hope of getting great service or food on such a busy night. But Brook's got it right! We'll be back. Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Value for the money more

Terribly tough prime rib 5/21/2006

We visited Brooks for Mother's day and the two fillet mignones were OK. We ordered three prime rib dinners and took two bites and ate no more. Called several days later to inform Brooks of the issue and they were in total denial and said there was nothing they could do because we didn't complain at the time and that no one else had complained. Oh so maybe because nobody else complained my complaint was not valid, huh? It was Mother's day and I didn't want any conflict. I explained to Leslie that I was not looking for anything free and at that point she offered us a gift certificate. No thanks. Any how everybody makes mistakes, it is only the pros that are smart enough to admit it. Avoid this place. Childish behavior in management...you know the drill. Greg G Pros: Rebecca the server, was nice Cons: steaks were so tough, the steak knifes were, ineffective. more

Best steak ever 10/18/2005

We had a business meeting there and the food was out of this world. The porterhouse that I ordered was delicious. Everybody's food was superb, service was top notch and new everything on the menu to a tee. Pros: service , atmosphere, cream corn more

Overrated and Expensive 9/11/2005

Being from Texas, my husband and I eat steak a lot. This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. I was very disappointed in the steak. Like another reviewer said, they was no flavoring or seasoning. It was as if they threw a steak on and charred it. We both had bone-in ribeye ($33). I thought mine was too charred, my husband liked his, but he eats his medium rare. Mashed potatoes were nothing special and the broccoli was just steamed...nothing special. The one good item was the creamed corn. Even the s-berry shortcake was just okay. The restaurant is beautiful though. Pros: Decor, Creamed corn, Service Cons: Cost, Lack of flavor more

Brothers Night Out 8/15/2005

My brother and I dined here two Sundays ago and had the VERY well valued 16oz Prime Rib Dinner with a crab cake appetizer. Items perfect in every way..especially when washed down with Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Service OUTSTANDING. Chef even gave us side of creamed ""corn off the cob"". Mmmmmmm. Also visited by the Rest. Manager twice at our table for conversation. Our party continued in the Cigar Cellar where the Bartender did attend to our every need. We had a wonderful cognac each sporting a very generous snifter pour accompanied by our own DM cigars. We were very delighted with the ""hug you"" feeling of the chairs...simply no better quality. After 4 hours in the establishment it was time to go. Paid bill and remembered that we had wanted cheesecake. Manager comped those and we departed...fantastically satiated. Alreading in process of organizing another function..with more buddies. Pros: Best Prime Rib EVER, Personalized Service, Great Ambiance Cons: Cheesecake too big more

Ok 8/3/2005

I wasn't that impressed with this restaurant. I was excited to go here after all the reviews I read. The food was ok. Nothing amazing by any means. The steaks were tender, but lacked flavor. This place is very expensive. I was almost shocked to see how much one steak costs, since everything else is a la carte. I've had better in Denver and most likely won't be back due to price and average food. The restaurant was decorated nice, upscale, but I couldn' tell if you were suppose to dress up or if it was casual. Pros: Dessert, Decoration Cons: Price, Flavor more

holy cow! 6/21/2005

A lot of imposters out there.Brook's is the real deal. The best steak houses in the country are independants, not chains. Pros: Prime Steaks, Great Lamb Chops, Super Manager Cons: Small Bar more

Wow! 2/2/2004

Having grown up in Kansas City, I've had many great steaks but NONE rank higher than the filet I had at Brook's. Not a cheap place, but if you want the best with fantastic service... you found your steakhouse. Pros: Steaks, Service, Cheesecake more

Great Service, great food 1/28/2004

Brooks is a wonderful place and we were fortunate enough to experience it twice within the last three months. The food was out of this world and our waiter (Chris) treated us like we were his only table both times he waited on us. He entertained my whole family and made the evening. I highly recommend Brook's! more

Make Mine Brook's 1/15/2004

Denver has so many great steakhouses, it's hard to choose a favorite. Although I read a lot of reviews about the irregular service at Brooks, the night 8 of us celebrated a 30th wedding anniversary, you would have thought we owned the place. Outstanding service with just the right attention, and the food was top shelf...definitely a keeper! Pros: wonderful selection, attentive service, friendly staff more

What A Wait! 12/13/2003

Great food, the steaks are so tender they melt in your mouth and very attentive service. The one problem, as with all other Denver high end steakhouses, is the wait - we had a 7:15 reservation but did not sit down until 8:15! Pros: Food, Service, Wines Cons: Waiting Time, Parking more

Pricey, but good 9/14/2003

Fine dining, not so much, but it's a steak house. Excellent and attentive service (Lisa was outstanding). The Brooks salad was as good a salad as I've ever had, textures and tastes that blended extremely well. The steak was cooked as ordered entirely edible. The lamb chops were among the better I've had. A good bottle of Italian Red (Monte Christa) rounded out an overall pleasurable dining experience. Escargot was also excellent. Pros: Good Food, Salad, Service Cons: Pricey more
