I'll be honest. I went to Brio on March 21 because it was ""National Ravioli Day"". Brio was honoring this day by offering ravioli meals at half price. Brio is located next door to McCormick and Schimicks, which is next door to P.F. Changs. The area gets crowded by noon. There would be plenty of free parking if much of the lot wasn't taken by valet parking. To avoid the hassle, I arrived when they opened at 11:00AM. I am so glad I did. We were about to be seated indoors, when as an afterthought I suggested we sit on the Patio. All 3 restaurants are located next to a large pond that has a central fountain. The restaurants share a long arcing patio that is well above the water. My wife and I had the Brio section all to ourselves. It was a perfect Spring day. Across from the pond, was a row of 16 Cherry trees in full blossom. Honking Geese on the pond, reminded me of a time long past. My young son and I used to feed bread to waterfowl as we waited for my wife to finish night classes. Now here I was almost 2 decades later eating lunch with that accomplished, hard working woman. We spoke of events past; and plans for the next week. The splashing of the fountain added to the tranquil setting; almost completely covering the sound of traffic on a nearby road. How do you describe ambiance? What makes a restaurant romantic? I'm not sure I can say. All I know is for a time, thoughts of economic recession, military conflict, and disaster in Japan faded. I was enjoying a special day with my wife. You might say God deserves the credit for the beautiful day. You might say the credit goes to the landscape architect that designed the setting. All 3 restaurants equally benefit from that setting. Would I have been as happy eating at P.F. Changs? Maybe. But, Brio was certainly no weak link in the the chain of events that made me feel like the luckiest man in Atlanta. In August that Patio will be sweltering. Inside it may be noisy and crowded. I'll still eat there because of the fond memory of a perfect lunch. more

To start the valet was quite polite and welcoming to say the least for a bad parking situation they made it pleasant! hostess was full of smiles and the manager greeting at the front door showed such an amazing feeling of warmth! As we sat we were approached with a decadent selection of wine and appetizers knowing this is the job of the server it was well described and wonderfully suggested:) The meal and Cheesecake to follow was one of the best I have ever come to encounter! To finish I have to say between the ambiance and service the food and the all around need to come back as soon as possible I gotta say I found my new favorite restaurant I give it 2 thumbs up!!!! more

I planned a surprise birthday for my boyfriend at Brio with reservations for 20 people. However, the day of, I found out that the reservations were for the wrong day. They were able to accommodate me and my party last minute. My surprise party was a success with help from the staff. My lasagna was delicious too. I would definitely come back here again. To start with, the parking situation is horrible. Once inside it sounds like the music is set to concert level, but we were greeted in a friendly manner. Again, at the table it was loud but we dealt with it and ordered our drinks and appetizers. The drinks were okay, we didn't order from the wine list because the server was trying to push high-dollar on us when we wanted low-to-mid range. The bruschetta was not that great, too much bread and not enough cheese or red pepper. The wedge salad was good, as was the chopped salad. The main courses were good and we were full so no dessert. Brio is the perfect restaurant for a romantic night out. The atmosphere is so comfortable inside and outside especially on their beautiful patio with a view of the pond. It makes you feel like you are in another country rather than Dunwoody, Georgia. There is plenty of great food to chose from and all the food is very affordable. I recommend starting out with one of their famous Bruschetta's or the delicious Calamari as an appetizer. Their are so many great entrees to choose from, but if i had to pick a couple of favorites I would go with the Shrimp and Lobster Garganella pasta, Gorgonzola crusted Filet, or the mouth watering Veal Marsala. My first visit to The Brio Tuscan Grille in Dunwoody, Ga was a most enjoyable one. My experience was delightful from start to finish. I was met at the door by a smiling young lady who seemed so happy to see me it was like I was an old friend of hers. When our server approached the table it was the same way. He acted as though there was no one in the room but us. We never wanted for anything. My husband ordered what he always thinks is a complicated drink and some times his lenghthy description gets rolled eyes or odd looks from servers. Not this time. Our server said no problem sir and vowed to return with the drink just as he had ordered it. He smiled after the first sip and I knew I could really relax. Our meal was wonderful. I like a medium well steak which I know is not a perfect science but it was cooked exactly the way I like it. Our meal was ended with a dessert I had dreams about. It was a cheesecake like no other I have ever tasted. It had a layer of crisp sugar like creme brule and rasberry sauce. Wow. Music blares, bocce balIs crack together and a gleefully boisterous ambiance pervades, as Brio lives up to it's name; lively. Walking into the large building, with rustic Italian facade, I couldn't help but notice the stylish arches and earthy tones which helped set the mood. Friendly smiles greeted me and escorted me and my entourage through the large, lowly lighted dining room to the table. We were promptly greeted. Upon ordering a bottle of the Ruffino Reserva chianti, the manager (David?) came to the table and disbursed the wine into a decantur, a step of service by which I have never been graced. The calamari was tender, and came with pepperoncini-I would highly recommend. I ordered the wedge salad which was an excellent bridge to the entree. I love lamb chops but have never had them with gorgonzola. These lamb chops were phenomenal! The flavor of the cheese complemented the natural gaminess of lamb. A perfect shade of dark red banded the center of the chops. Along with the decanted wine, it made for a delightfully pefect combination. Our table was crumbed and the Desert menus went down. I was the only one who had the audacity (and stomach capacity) after such a satisfying meal, to unabashedly declare my desire for the chocolate caramel cake. It was exremely rich, just as the rest of the food. If it's ""authenticity"" you are looking for, go to Italy. No Italian restaurant in America is truly authentic. Macaroni grill, Maggiano's, Carrabas are all nice, yes, but they lack ingenuity; they're all the same! If you want excellent execution of a truly inspired twist on Tuscan cuisine- something one won't find elsewhere, you want Brio. Overall, I had a glowing evening. Service was right on target and the food, I will never forget. The ambience lent greatly to the enchantment of this experience. Romance.. Dinning... Cuisine.... I have never had such a great experience from start to end! starting with the ambiance from the exterior of the building, the lighting, the people outside playing bocce it was a wonderful experience. The service was amazing, Friendly as well as extremely knowledgable. Not just about the Food and Wine but the surrounding area as well. We sat out on the patio wich i can garentee there is no patio that can compare, being placed in the edge of a body of water by candlelite with frank sinatra in the midst of your meal is one of the best feelings you could have! The food was well prepared and the presentaion delightful.......a taste of Tuscany you will have! Cons: would be easier accessable with better parking more

I took my wife to Brio Tuscan Grill for her birthday. We had the best dining experience ever. My wife and I had a four course meal. We started with the carpacio which was divine, next we both had a cup of lobster bisq which is the best soup I had ever tasted. For my entree I ordered the Gorgonzola Lamb Chops which makes my mouth water everytime I think about it. My wife ordered the Tournedos and she stated ""this is the most tender and juicy steak I have ever ate"". We had the chocolate cake for dessert. The warm center along with the ice cream topping was amazing. The service was outstanding. The patio has a very romantic seting. My favorite part is the ducks that will walk directly to a table in order to get bread. Pros: Great food more

A friend of mine was right, it is a step above the Olive Garden although I thought barely a step. We started off with the spinach and artichoke dip with flat bread, which was excellent. We cleaned the bowl. The salads were ok; mine had way too much dressing, and I left half of the salad on the plate. I had the Chicken Milanese Pomodoro aka a pressed, formed, and chopped breaded chicken patty over pasta with marinara sauce. For a $15 entree, I expect fresh chicken, not a chicken patty. It was not to my liking, and I left most of it on the plate. The pasta and marinara sauce were decent. My dining companion had a garlic cream and chicken dish, which he described as too heavy. For dessert, he had the bread pudding, which he said was really good. I had the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Except for the walnuts (I hate walnuts and picked most of the off), it was good, especially the ice cream melting into the caramel sauce. For those who doesnt care about a good service it would be the best place to go for dinner or lunch. If you do want to receive an excellent service don't ruin your special day in Brio. Gratuity is gonna be added to your bill automatically, table will be dirty and uncleaned all night.As for myself, i dont like to eat my dessert next to the dirty plates from the main course.And i want my coffee and water to be refilled. more

The food is absolutley delicious! I love their wine list and our service was outstanding. My husband and I have been going there for 2 years ....along with the Buckhead location. We always entertain guests there and have also been there with large parties for the holidays. Our favorite is the patio that overlooks a lake and fountian. I tried some of my companion's shrimp risotto (sans the shrimp...what genius chef paired shrimp with loads of parmesan saturated rice to begin with?). The risotto was overly cheesy with nothing but the roasted red peppers shining through when all was done. A definite cheesy cover-up for many culnary shortcomings. Since all of the ""Italian"" dishes I had already tried were very Fauxtalian to finish I decided to try the creme brulee. Who could ruin creme brulee you ask? Brio can. It tasted like vanilla pudding without the delicate eggy custardness that follows that crack of sugar shell on the top. Huh, at least they did that part right. My word to the chain restaurants is: Stick to the burgers, bloomin' onions, neverending pasta and breadsticks and of that other garbage that you do so well. Leave the authentic cuisine to those who care enough to do it right. more

Ok, to be completely honest, the food is average. The lasagna is probably one of the best entrees on the menu. But you will be very surprised at how affordable this restaurant is! But what's absolutely to die for, the Cheesecake!!! Any time I'm visiting Atlanta, I always stop by and just order the cheesecake. It's is so creamy, made fresh in the restaurant. They place the cheesecake on it's side and place on the plate and somehow form a very very thin top layer of caramelized sugar on top of the cake and top it with a strawberry. Then they have this absolutely delicious raspberry sauce drizzled on the cake and plate to make it taste even better. I'm telling you, there is no cheesecake better than Brio's, I guarantee it!!!
