I was in search of a great massage therapist and found Olivia. She is fantastic. I tell her where I ache and she works it out exactly as needed. PERFECT! I would like a more relaxing atmosphere for the waiting room and a more secluded area- but that is really not an issue. Another thing is they don't have any water services - it would be ideal to take a hot tub soak before getting my massage, but that's not a big issue either. I go for Olivia and she is great! I am never disappointed by the Face and Body Spa. The staff are warm and very professional. From the minute you walk in you know that you are a valued client. I have been getting waxing and eyebrow tinting from Denise for a couple of years now and she is the best! I have gotten both manicure and pedicures- both were very effective and longlasting, and -a bonus- organic! They have a great variety of procedures at different prices and offer great deals for loyal customers. From the moment I stepped foot in the front door I knew my experience here would be great. Jenn at the front desk made me feel welcome by offering hot tea or water while she walked me back to the comfy couches where I could fill out my paperwork. I have been to many spas that don't make the effort to maintain a file of client allergies, medications, skincare concerns and any other issues pertinent to resolving your skin or body issues - so this immediately made me confident. Denise took me to my treatment room, had a conversation about my skin concerns and explained exactly what she would be focusing on during my session...and can I just say...this was by far THE best facial I have ever had in my life...Philly, New York, you heard me. Best. Every stroke was so deliberate and nothing was rushed. From the heated bed to the paraffin hand treatment (a complete surprise), it's no wonder she had to almost wake me up at the end. After my facial, I visited Julie in the spa's carriage house just off of Main Street - part boutique, part spa - where she took me to the upstairs treatment room (much like a Tahitian getaway complete with bamboo sliding drapes). This girl has some seriously strong hands. My upper back and shoulders are a mess from my 9-5 desk job and she opened up every last knot. I came to work today literally glowing - the words of my colleagues - and just had to share my experience from start to finish. Definitely worth the commute from the city...and I took the train. Note to those with severe cat allergies, the spa foyer does have a sweet resident cat named Sebastian...Luckily, if you can't handle the kitty, the spa can easily book your appointment in their carriage house. This is a lovely spa and I have no complaints about their treatments or products. I have enjoyed the treatments I have had there very much. However, the last time I was there I felt pressured into having an additional treatment while I was in the room, even after saying no a couple of times. I finally gave in and got the treatment. I don't enjoy being upsold while I am trying to relax. The economy is bad enough as it is without being upsold on additional things. If I had truly wanted the additional treatment I would have booked it along with my other treatments. It makes me very wary to return. I have been to many spas and this is by far the best spa I have visited. Everything is amazing. The gorgeous setting and warm staff are just the beginning. I instantly feel like I'm in a tranquil escape on Main Street where I can find a group of people who genuinely care. I recently went to the Face & Body Spa in Yardley. I felt I just had to make mention of the very personal attention that I received there. It is the most comfortable and cozy atmosphere of any spa I have ever been to. The friendly staff helped me to feel relaxed as soon as I entered. The massage I had today by Beth was probably the worst I have ever had and a complete waste of my time and money. I do like a lot of pressure, which I requested during the massage. However, my request did not result in additional pressure. All I got was a lot of oil rubbed all over my body. I wish I could say that it was at least relaxing, but the whole experience was very amateur. The person that collected the $ did not even ask about my experience. I've been having Massages for over 15 years, everywhere you can think of - North America, Europe, The Caribbean and last week I received one of the best, most relaxing massages I've had at the Face & Body Spa in Yardley Pa. I was a first time customer and called the day of left a message, at approximately 12:00pm, and they returned my call within 45 minutes with all the information necessary to book the appointment - availabilty, times, costs, types of massages etc. - very prompt and efficient. When I arrived they greeted me, gave a quick tour of the facility and got me through the paperwork so I could get to my treatment (I was running late). The massage was wonderful and as I said, one of the best I've had in a long time, they asked all they right questions and listened to what I had to say. I'll be going back each month!!! I've paid more for a massage and I've paid less but the cost at this Spa is well worth the price and very reasonable for what I received. Of course we did love the first review that Rockway4 posted, but her new review is just as important to me. I am Heather Dempsey-Gade, the owner and a technician at the face & Body spa. We NEVER want someone to leave without being satisfied and we always want our clients to feel comfortable communicating during their services. Communication on both ends is VERY important. I am so sorry to hear that you were less than thrilled with your treatments. And the hours we are open do vary (slightly) based on the appointments scheduled. Although we are present during the majority of them, the hours posted are the ""hours appointments are available"". We can and will always be available if someone needs us during those hours. I have tried to locate Rockway4 in our records so I could do everything possible to make it right, but have had no luck. I would like to invite you back to make up for your disappointment. We do have services and staff to suite everyone. We are here to give everyone the opportunity to relax, reenergize and enjoy! I will do what ever I can to make it right. I take great pride in the quality of service and client care we all put into our work. Much as I enjoyed this spa on my first visit I find it increasingly frustrating. I like businesses that keep regular hours so you know when they are open. I have driven to the spa on more than one occassion during their regular business hours to buy product or a gift card only to find it locked and dark. It seems that if they don't have appointments scheduled they turn off the lights and go home! No way to run a business, in my opinion. Oh, and the esthetician I wrote about before is not longer there. Be prepared for painful extractions if you go to Alison.
