The Boulder Theater is fun. Movie theaters in the Boulder area suck especially AMCs but the Boulder theater always has good professional projection and booze!

Wonderful old theater with great entertainment 2/27/2006

I attended a taping of e-town at the Boulder Theater recently and I was entranced by the beauty of this historical building. From the mid 1920's to the late 70's this building served as a movie theater, but now it houses all sorts of quirky and alternative entertainment. the large center bar serves drinks for all and the acoustics are quite good. Their upcoming event calendar lists an impressive array of entertainment suitable for a wide audience. the e-town taping, featuring the Gourds and Michelle something or other (darned if I can recall her name, but she was good!) was great fun. more

Every Town Needs a Boulder Theater 9/16/2005

I really like the Boulder Theater. It's not a movie-plex, it's a good old-fashioned onepscreen theater. It's 2-stories high and has a full bar for refreshments. While movies are shown here, it's also a popular spot for visiting musicians and local bands. If you're into skiing and you've never gone, check out the Warren Miller movies that open here every November. Great fun!! more

The Boulder Theater 8/16/2005

Boulder Theater began life as an early twentieth century opera house, and it shows. With an art deco exterior and a fantastically muralled interior, the theater has an aesthetic appeal that is hard to beat. As it was designed as an opera house, it’s acoustics are equally as impressive. Shows at the Boulder Theater run the gamut. I’ve seen rock bands and traditional African vocalists do equally well; the syndicated radio program E-Town is recorded regularly in the theater, and on off nights they show cult films. If you have the opportunity to see a show there, do. more
