Boulder Theater began life as an early twentieth century opera house, and it shows. With an art deco exterior and a fantastically muralled interior, the theater has an aesthetic appeal that is hard to beat. As it was designed as an opera house, it’s acoustics are equally as impressive.
Shows at the Boulder Theater run the gamut. I’ve seen rock bands and traditional African vocalists do equally well; the syndicated radio program E-Town is recorded regularly in the theater, and on off nights they show cult films.
If you have the opportunity to see a show there, do.
