Boon chapman pharmacy insurance coverage 4/19/2017

My husband has this insurance under his employer and they absolutely suck. You can only use 1 pharmacy that take this insurance and that's at his employer site which is over 2 hours from where we live actually. Very inconvenient and plain out absurd that this insurance company does not coverage medication at other pharmacies. more

Does Not Cover Basic Services Such as Well Woman 1/3/2014

As the previous poster said, this insurance administrator does not even cover basic well woman charges. My wife works for Fort Bend County in TX and these charges were not covered until the entire deductible is met. I'm paying over $300.00 a month for insurance that refuses to cover anything including basic preventative services. This insurance is a joke. more

Fort Bend County Should Be Ashamed 12/27/2013

Boon Chapman is the insurance administrator for Fort Bend County employees. Yes, the Sheriff's Department and County employees that strive to keep you safe have the WORST insurance that I have ever dealt with. Boon Chapman diligently works to deny claims and takes months to pay, claiming that forms are not received over and over. If I paid my bills this slowly I would get evicted and my car would be repossessed. Boon Chapman also makes you pay your entire deductible of several hundred dollars before they will pay one penny of well child visits. Fort Bend County should be ashamed for making its sheriffs, EMTs, correctional facility employees, prosecutors and everyone else that works so hard for the state carry this HORRID insurance. more

Terrible service 8/15/2012

I am trying to obtain a drug for a patient who was released from the hospital two weeks ago and this insurance has made it impossible. I called the insurance who then directed me to the pharmacy benefits company who then directed me to the health account manager who then directed me to Prime DX who then stated that the claim was turfed back to the pharmacy benefits company for review. All I know is if this patient dies or has an adverse event, because this company wouldn't approve this drug they could get sued. I've asked for service people's last names when I speak with them on the phone and all I get is a first initial and blatant refusal for their full name. This company seems very irreputable. more

Stay away from this insurance administrator! 3/10/2010

Worst insurance I ever have. This insurance will find every technical issues to stay away from paying your claim. Most of their reason from denying the claims is pre-existing condition. Just for physical examination and immunization as required by the school for my two children, they only paid the immunization for $39 but the services of the doctor for the children totaling of $300, they sent me forms to list the name of doctors and prescriptions taken for six months prior to the commencement of the insurance. I know they are looking for technical issues to stay away from paying the claim of physical examination services. I faxed the forms back the day after I received it. To my surprise, when I called them back four days after to check the status, they said there's no indication that they recieved the faxed. Rediculous! They gave me another number and I faxed them again to that number including the prevoius successful fax log. I have five friends telling me that they had the same situation and their claims were all denied because of the reason for pre-existing conditions. They asked one paper then after you furnished them with such document, they asked another document and they will do the same after you can comply with the previous required documents until your claim will reach the 45 days when they can consider it as closed. You cannot do anything after it reaches 45 days from the claim. Smart move for them to deny the claim. One of my firends have gastrititis but he never experienced this before but they still considered it as pre-existing condition. I wonder what kind of claim they will honor. One said that that insurance is nothing. So stay away from this insurance administrator. They usually cater the Healthsmart insurance. more

Does NOT pay claims 6/22/2009

This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. The constantly send the same form for every claim that states you have no pre-exsisting conditions. Even when you send the form it, the still do not pay the claims. I am getting phone calls from doctors, hospitals, urgent care clinics, ect.. and I still cannot can this insurance company to pay legitimate claims. more
