This is one of the best places I've been in Mount Pleasant so far! Good beer selection (they had Smithwicks on draught) , and the meal was excellent (I recommend the jambalaya) and not too pricey. The service was very good, although I was there for a late dinner, so that might have been part of it. Can't wait to go back! more

It was crowded. We had to wait but not too long. We sat at the bar, The people at the bar were friendly. The decorations are nice wood. There are a few restauraunts in the same area. The parking could be tricky. The food was excellent. We enjoyed everything. I had to have the She Crab soup it was good. The waitress was good. I would go back. The prices were not unresonable more

My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi 5/30/2012

My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich...it was huge..a double decker. He loved it. Took him awhile to eat it. We've been eating so much seafood while here in SC that I ordered the fried chicken, Very tasty and juicy...wasn't happy with the mashed potatoes. Our friends has the She Crab Soup and they were very pleased with it. I would eat here again if we come back. Good atmosphere and view of the water. Waitress was very efficient. No Complaints more

awesome place to eat 5/9/2012

Shem Creek is an awesome place to eat, especially if you enjoy seafood. We ordered our food, and received it very quickly, and it was hot and correctly prepared. I'd recommend anyone in the in the area to stop in for lunch or dinner, although its a bit pricey, as most seafood restaurants are, bit it's a nice treat! more

Really great local place. Sat on the deck. Food was excellent. The sausage was to die for. Great selection of appirizers. Varied menu. One of the best places we ate during our week in charleston. more

Best on the Creek: 8/1/2011

Best on the Creek: I love Shem Creek Bar & Grill. I worked next door for 3 years and frequently got lunch there. Best chopped salad around. Love the atmosphere, you can actually drive the boat up, dock and have lunch or dinner. Great place all around. more

Our waitress was new but she went out of her way to make the evening enjoyable even bringing me a piece of key lime pie for my birthday! The setting was ideal at sunset, very pretty. When we go back to Charleston we will DEFINITELY go back! more

GIVES CHARLESTON A BAD NAME! 7/24/2011

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Used to be decent but on recent trip to SC we had an early Sunday dinner there. Got served old coffee in a cracked mug, ordered the big seafood plate and was served lukewarm, microwaved and tasteless ""seafood"". And small portions to boot! Oh yeah, it was about $70 for 2 people!! The servers seemed to be more interested in pushing the drinks than in customer service. Please, eat elsewhere, Charleston is loaded with fine eateries. Just an all round unpleasant experience here. more

This old and established eatery is well known for good food, a wide variety of refreshments and a super view of Shem Creek. With outdoor dinning, as well as full view windows inside, one can enjoy a great microbrewery beer or platter of superb fried local shrimp while the sun sets over an active portion of our saltwater marshes. more

The food is always incredible. They serve the best shrimp and grits in town. Oysters may not always come out quickly, but they are always very fresh and large. We had a new waitress, Sandy, who made us feel as though we were family. Definitely best seafood in the Charleston area. more

I honestly can say it was one of the best meals we had during our week in Charleston. Good, fresh seafood. Interesting side dishes, and pleasant service. Nice setting on Shem Creek. Wish we had gone earlier in the week, so that we could have enjoyed it more than once. more

excellent! 7/13/2011

Ate here for my birthday dinner during our trip to Charleston last week. I had the stuffed flounder and grits and my fiance had the seafood platter. Both were excellent! The flounder was stuffed with crab filling and had a sauce on it that was soooo tasty! And the grits were so good we ordered another bowl to share! more

If you are looking for a relaxing restraunt with great fresh food this is the place you'll have to eat at! The oysters and crab legs were so fresh. Also the shrimp creo was the best! more

""This was the first place we stopped in Mount Pleasant. My husband and I were very pleased. The shrimp was very fresh and the grits were wonderful! Love the fried okra too! Best of all - was our waiter! He was very friendly and helpful!!! I let him know we were from out of town and wanted to know where the locals go and he talked to us for a good ten minutes. So, so nice! Nice kid who went to KSU for a frat trip - we took all of his recommendations and he proved to be a great guy! Excellent food and great service - I'd go back in a heartbeat! more

relaxed atmosphere 6/24/2011

I wouldn't dress up for a night out to head to this restaurant but it does fit the bill for a great place to eat after a long day of fishing. The shrimp is delicious. A few of the entrees were miss for me but most of the items are hits. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on the water & the friendly staff more
