We had drinks and apps here on a Sunday afternoon. The nachos, Old Bay wings, and fried green tomatoes were all good. The service was good, but we were almost the only ones in the restaurant at that time of day. more

Ate here for my birthday dinner during our trip to Charleston last week. I had the stuffed flounder and grits and my fiance had the seafood platter. Both were excellent! The flounder was stuffed with crab filling and had a sauce on it that was soooo tasty! And the grits were so good we ordered another bowl to share! more

The previous reviews made me cautious of visiting this restaurant. However, I'd always wanted to try it, and since it was very near to our hotel and we were not in need of reservations since we were dining early, we took the plunge. I couldn't have been happier. We were seated immediately outside at our request, overlooking the marsh. The service could not have been more friendly or attentive. I had the crab cakes, which were the best I had eaten anywhere, and my friend had the chicken teriyaki, which I tasted and found to be tender and absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and will go back again when the opportunity arises. more

My mom and I ate there on Wednesday. It was one of the best meals we have ever had! The fried shrimp were perfect and your Key Lime Pie is the best I have ever had! I am from Myrtle Beach and have also lived in Florida, so I know my shrimp, AND I know Key Lime Pie...Yours is 'tops!' :) more

This has to be my favorite restaurant in the Charleston area and that's saying something as there's lots of great food in this town. Man this place is good and I've been going there for years. Hadn't been in a while and went there with my Mom after we'd just been to see the CSS Hunley. Got the fried shrimp and they were absolutely and undeniably the best fried shrimp I've ever had in my life. No, I'm not kidding. Great, great meal. Great service. Do yourself a favor. Eat here. more

One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston right on Shem Creek. They used to have tree house pods you could sit in and dine. It was private and a lot of fun. They had to tear them down, due to building codes. It's still a great place to go and they have a bar on the pier with a band... Very good ambiance and I would recommend Shem Creek's to everyone! more

The seafood at this place is to die for! We has scallops , shrimp, as well as a seafood platter. All the seafood was amazingly fresh and was prepared well. For example, the scallops were sweet and tender. The oyster stew was the best we have ever had! The sauces were excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone, but particularly to those like myself who have grown up at the sea shore and know what great seafood is! more

Excellent ""dirty"" shrimp and grits. The she-crab soup was a tasty appetizer. The dolphin we saw swimming just outside the restaurant was a bonus. Would definitely visit again! more

Our waitress was new but she went out of her way to make the evening enjoyable even bringing me a piece of key lime pie for my birthday! The setting was ideal at sunset, very pretty. When we go back to Charleston we will DEFINITELY go back! more

We insist on going to Shem Creek Bar & Grill when we're in Charleston because we love everything about it. Everything -- where it's located, the ambiance, the happy vibe, the service, the outstanding food. We had the best meal I think we've ever had in our lives last week when we did a Charleston layover on the way to Hilton Head. It isn't just my husband and I who would say that. Our three young boys ate every single bite and declared it ""amazing"" and their ""favoritest"" restaurant. Shem Creek Bar & Grill nails it in every single category you could think of. more

The food was plentiful and delicious 6/27/2012

My wife and I dinned here while on our anniversary trip to the Charleston area. We requested dining with a view and got a great seat with a perfect view of the sunset right over Shem Creek. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had the stuffed flounder which was full of LOTS of crab stuffing, scallops, and LARGE shrimp. I actually got full to the point I had no room for dessert. This was our first night in the area and this meal was a great start to a great trip. more
