Amazing Eyebrows! 10/10/2011

After having moved to Portland from New York I was desperately searching for a place that does good eyebrows! Ive found it! After going to a few places and being completely over-waxed, I waited a few months to let my eyebrows grown in and then made an appointment with Rachel at Blush Beauty Bar- and thank goodness I did! Rachel listed to my concerns, and put me on the ""brow rehab"" program. She was able to clean up my brows and make them look neat and tidy while not making them too thin and keeping their natural shape- apparantly this is very difficult for some eyebrow waxers/threaders to do! Needless to say, my brows look fantastic. I am so happy I found Rachel and look forward to working with her in the future! more

Megan is the best eyebrow shaped in town! 4/7/2010

Megan has been waxing my eyebrows for about a year and a half now, and everytime she does it is absolutely perfect. My eyebrows are glamourous only because of her (I used to be made fun of for having too bushy or too skinny brows). She stays true to your natural arches and knows just where to wax to make you look magazine perfect. Plus, she is an absolute gem to talk to. I've refered so many of my friends to her. She is the best kept secret in town. Pros: Megan, products, services, and price. Cons: Parking. more

Great place for beauty products 12/21/2009

Amazing Service and the best staff ever 12/9/2009

I went in to Blush Beauty Bar over the weekend looking for a gift for my mom and my sister, and it was a great experience. Very happy with what I got, and the staff was very helpful and down to earth. Thank You Blush Beauty Bar !! Pros: products, location, price, services Cons: not enough time to shop more

Eyebrow threading! 10/20/2009

I was told that the best place to get your eyebrows done in Portland was at Blush and it is so true! Suha threaded my eyebrows (I had never had it done before) and completely transformed my face. My eyes looked bigger and I looked more put together; I've never had such amazing results with eyebrow hair removal. When she let me look in the mirror and saw that I was ecstatic she said ""that is why I keep doing this job. when people stop reacting this way I will quit.""\r \r The best $25 I've ever spent on beauty, hands down. Book an appointment, you won't be disappointed! Pros: quick, professional, LOOKS AMAZING more

Threading! 9/13/2009

I moved to Portland about 6 months ago and couldn't find a salon that offered threading (except some place about 50 miles away) so I was only left with waxing options. After an awful eyebrow wax experience that left my brows way thinner than I'd like them I finally found Suha a month later at Blush and couldn't be happier. She really knows what she's doing! And as far as other reviews go, I did not have any problems with the staff. They were all nice and answered any questions that I had. Thank you Suha and Blush. Pros: Suha is wonderful! Cons: None, well it's kind of painful but that's to be expected. more

Bad service 6/8/2009

I went in looking for some help in picking out a good powder and blush. I waited maybe 10 minutes and no one offered to help me. Then I finally asked someone if they could help and they still took a few more minutes to come over and assist me. The lady showed me some products and picked out colors, but I kept saying I wanted something different and she insisted that the colors she was choosing were the best for my skin tone. They weren't and I was dissatisfied. I didn't feel very respected, and felt like I was talked down to. It seemed like a very silly and artificial atmosphere. I ended up with a product I don't like and can't return because they don't actually have a return policy. They only let you exchange items, and that's only if you haven't even used them. Not the best makeup store! Pros: They have makeup Cons: Overpriced, not helpful service! more

This is where all the makeup is in Portland, on thier Sales Staff 11/24/2008

Gals in PDX don't wear a lot of make up and people in Portland are usually down to earth. This place feels like the O.C. and its the kind of place where you guess the sales gals talk about you after you leave. Plus there isn't a lot of variety, maybe three lines to choose from, it doesn't make sense. more

Great makeup application and not just a dept. store experience 8/21/2008

I went in for a makeup application by a NARS makeup artist who was in town. She was great and the spirit in the store was much more friendly and supportive than you get sitting on a chair in Macy's. I love all the stuff I bought. Of course, the blush and bronzer, but also the lipstick, which I think I'll get more of from NARS. They go on really well and taste great! I also got a free gift of this great NARS body oil, which I've used all summer on my bare legs and it smells great and I've gotten lots of compliments on it.\r \r The owner was great and it felt really great to support a locally-owned business. Definitely going back. Pros: Ambience, helpfulness, quality of products Cons: Parking more

Eyebrow Threading 4/8/2008

I had my brows threaded by Suha after a friend had been getting it done there for about a year. I normally pluck and have gone to get a wax once. I've always been afraid of creepy, thin eyebrows. But, the feeling wasn't too bad. It was actually kind of relaxing. And, she said to grow my brows in more to get the arches to match. I just grew my bangs out and wear them straight across while my brows are filling in. I'm having so much fun with the transformation. Thanks Suha for showing me that brows can change your look. It's like natures makeup. ..Also, I've been in to buy makeup after I went into Dosha and was bombarded by sales help. At Blush they weren't pushy at all. Pros: Nars lipstick, Eyebrow threading Cons: the brow threading was done in the corner of the retail floor more

Comfortable place to shop for makeup, no pressure from staff 2/27/2008

I went to Blush to try out the mineral powder foundation, and was really pleased at the selection. They seem to stock items that they have confidence in. I ended up buying some of their skin care line as well, and I was impressed that they didn't try to push all the products on me-- the salesperson even recommended a product they didn't carry that would be more appropriate for me. \r \r The only negative I would say is that the full facial was a bit of a rip off. It's basically just an application of their skin care line, apparently with a more intense version of the exfoliant. They talked it up a lot, but the results didn't live up to the hype. \r \r Also, the fact that they charge for makeup applications makes it confusing to know when you're crossing the line between asking someone to help you try out a product, and asking for a makeup application. If you go to Nordstroms you can sort of take it for granted that they're happy to put makeup on you because you're more likely to buy the product. \r \r I'll definitely go back to get refills, but I'll probably go somewhere else to get colors. At these prices I really think they should be going the extra mile to help you choose the right colors and products, and yes, they should teach you how to apply the makeup for free. Pros: Clean, quality products, good customer service Cons: They charge for services normally provided for free more

love the lovely makeup 2/24/2008

Blush beauty bar makes my soul sing; they have makeup, goodies, and they have beauty services. I have been there a few times for their ""flirtini"" (actually, maybe it's called ""blushtini,"") anyways, it is their fifteen minutes makeup application. It's easy and inexpensive and I left feeling like a goddess. There wasn't any pressure to buy anything else, though I did, because I liked their products so much. The girls who work there are friendly and completely unpretentious. I especially like these little tubes of lip gloss that they have for 8 dollars that smell like bubble gum and their gel blush that was also around the 10 dollar mark. Their skin care lines are spendy, but overall their makeup is a really good value. I like going there because it's owned locally and the have some local products. \r \r There is one girl in particular, tall with blond hair, who has given great makeup advice. I think that her name is Erin or Morgan, but I don't remember. \r \r Overall, it is my favorite store on 23rd. Pros: staff is friendly, great products and services more

It's OK 6/5/2007

I went in and the service was nice. i found a lot of brands that you can't find anywhere else. The only thing I don't like is the return policy because if you buy something that you aren't happy with, you can't return it. It is hard to always be happy with makeup because at home it looks different. but the people there are friendly and there is a lot of cool finds. more
