Criminal Involved Restaurant ! 2/28/2012

The absolutely worst restaurant I've ever had in San Francisco ! And criminal involved !!!! 1. As I didn't bring my id, the waiter refused to take the master card. That's fine,so we paid by cash 30 dollars, but when I checked my account after I went back to hotel, my master card got over 86 dollars charge by this restaurant !!! This is criminal to use my card. I just can't believe this happened !!! 2.The service is really bad. One staff working there, ask for one more water, he said yes, then doing nothing. We actually spent 27 dollars, he said he will get the change for us, then he ran to welcome new customers without coming back at all. 3. The food is too oily and really hard to eat at all. 4. Over priced on the food, a glass of milk charged 3.95 dollars, and a glass of ice tea, which is terrible (just ice+cold water+ a little bit tea maybe) , charged around 3 dollars. Anybody who see this review, please don't go to this restaurant forever ! more

Romantic, great food 1/27/2009

i have been a regualar at Bia's now for the last 3 years. Pros: garden, food, ambience, sangria Cons: parking on haight street more

Unbelievably bad...how is this place in business? 12/5/2008

While so much of Haight St. is overpriced and aimed at tourists, there can be no greater a quandry than how this place still exists. I picked it as a central location for Sunday brunch with friends and I didn't want to wait an hour at Zazi. Mistake! There was one waiter in the whole place (not that there were that many people, but still). He was sloooooooowwwww as molasses, the food and coffee was minimal and cold and wilting. I was just so disappointed and embarrassed for picking it. Don't even bother, with so much goodness up the street in Cole Valley, Bia's is a waste of time and money. Pros: ? Cons: the entire experience more

Beware Bad Food and Belligerent Waitress/Owner 4/30/2008

This was by far the worst experience in a restaurant I've ever had-- the waitress yelled at me and actually kicked me out for asking to see the check! Cons: Verbally Attacked by Owner, Bad Food more

best food on the haight 10/3/2007

be wary 5/17/2007

expensive, slow, unattentive. Do NOT go here with a group of 6 or more. They take your automatic tip (18%) for granted, and then don't earn it--talk about mediocre service (and we were the only ones there). Portions are small. Food is decent. Sangria is too sweet and syrupy. We chose to leave ""only"" 15% instead of 18% (and all cash, too boot), because the service was lousy, and the waitress demanded the full amount as a legal right. I guess she didn't feel the need to hold up her end of the 18% contract. Lousy and obnoxious! Pros: atmosphere Cons: service, price, food more

best lam 5/5/2007

This place is really romantic and old and adorable looking. Food is all organic. I always have the lamb there which is the best lamb ever. It is on Haight sreet which is a full crazy people who are always ready to jump at you. One time I was there, there was this man who came in to use their bathroom whithout being a customer. The server told him that the bathroom was for customers only and that they risk loosing their insurance if they let non-customers use their bathroom. Aparantly they had had people going in and never coming out and you can guess the rest. The man walked off swearing. I guess he had to go so badly that he forgot his manners. But I am glad that this place tries to keep this kind of people out. Pros: organic food Cons: crazy haight street more

WORST SERVICE EVER- VERY RUDE 3/26/2007

The WORST SERVICE EVER- RUDE STAFF- RUDE STAFF- NASTY PEOPLE. hAD THE LAMB BURGER- THE STAFF WERE NASTY AND RUDE TO OUR WHOLE TABLE - SERVICE WAS SLOW Cons: NASTY AND RUDE PEOPLE more

Ridiculously Rude!!!!! 2/22/2007

Omg I have never been treated so poorly in my life!! I was appalled by the way the the host/server treated me and my family. We entered this restaraunt hopeful because it's seem very quiet and quaint but as we walked in the server quickly place some table together tossed the menues and walked away! my parents were still outside placing some shopping bags in the trunk when suddenly the man approaches the table and states ""you are so rude is this how you act at a restaraunt?"" I was caught off guard and thought what is he talking about?? but before I could even say anything he stated "" If your not going to eat here just leave get out!!! I coudn'nt believe this i thought I was hearing things but I grab my purse and grabbed my niece and stormed out! I will never ever ever step a foot in or near this place again!! highly do not recommend it!! more

romantic spot on haight 10/14/2006

this the most romantic spot on haight. I go there once a month on Fridays after work with my boyfriend and this place is so inviting from the outside. I love the colors. The food is quit good and I love their empanadialla and rissoto cakes. The sangria is really good too. We often have a pitche between the two of us. Pros: romantic Cons: very busy neighborhood more

excellent service 10/2/2006

I have to Bia's many times whenever my family is in town or have a date. The staff are very knowlegable about wine. I went there on a Sunday with a couple of friends, and the server suggested an excellent wine to go with the food we had ordered, and even though is was a fairly busy day, he spend good bit of time explaining the wine and the grape and the climates effect on the grape and so on and so forth. It's so nice when somebody takes the time and explain these finers points. I enjoy wine but I always order the same thing. It' nice to get somebody who know more to suggest a good wine as an experiment. Pros: service Cons: closed on Mondays more

terrific wine 9/28/2006

finally, we have a wine bar on Haight St. I am tired of going to EOS. Bia's is cozy and friendly. They have flights, red and white and it changes. The portions are very generous. I like the cheese plate and a flight of wine for 20.00 which is a perfect way to have a chat with a friend. They give bread which I believe they bake at the restaurant. The bread is most excellent. It tastes like Brioche which I had in France. You hav to be careful with the bread as you might stuff your face with it and then have no room for cheese or wine. Pros: wine Cons: parking more

good food, friendly service 9/23/2006

I am so glad I found this place on Haight st. All other food on Haight is fast food and it's nice to find a place to gaad food and good service and away from all that cazyness on the haight. I feel safe and happy there. Pros: friendly service Cons: too many homeless crazy people on haight st. more

good wine and cheese 9/22/2006

They have a cheese and wine special which is great. I love cheese and wine. They also offer flights of wine. I had the flight of reds which was all syrah. It was very good. I go there once a month for cheese and wine. Sometimes, we take out own wine and jet get their cheese plate. I did that for my B-day as I had a really nice bottle of wine which I wanted to share with my friend. Pros: best cheese plate Cons: non more

best food I have had in San Francisco 9/22/2006

I have been travelling the US for the last two months and the food here is the best I ever had in the US. I just stumbled on it as I walking through the Haight st. I went there three times and had different meals, and they were all excellent. There is a garden in back too which was perfect. I had penne pasta, eggplant and salmon. The aiole on the salmon was truely wonderful. Pros: best food Cons: non more

organic food oh Haight 9/21/2006

The food here is very tasty with unique spices. I have tried almost half the menu already and I like them all, but my favorite is rissotto cake for appetizer and vegetable musaka for entree. Chocolate soufle is a must, but it take 10 min., so order ahead of time. The wine list is extensive and very reasonably priced. I like the Italian wine selection myself. There are many organic wines there but most of the wines are not organic. But the food is all organic. The service can be slow sometime, but I suppose good food takes time to prepare. There is nothing like having brunch on a Sat. or Sun oh the patio in the back. It feels like Italy. It gets really busy though, so be ready to wait a bit. Pros: tasty food Cons: busy on the weekends more

good food 9/15/2006

This place is very cute. I live san bruno but go to the Haight often. This is my favorite restaurant. The lamb is very tasty. The wine selection is massive and affordable. I love their Petite Syrah. This a refuge from the Haight st. Pros: organic, wine Cons: parking more

This place is AWFUL 8/14/2006

The waitstaff was really rude. When they brought our meal I thought they were joking because the portions were tiny. The prices are not low, either. Save your money and go 2 blocks south to Cole Valley for a similar sit-down experience. Pros: Garden (though it's rarely open) Cons: Rude staff, High Prices, Small Portions more

Awful Service 8/3/2006

I eat out a lot and I have had bad service before, but Bia stands out for their appalingly rude and hostile service. I have eaten takeaway from Bia's before and the food was good enough that I wanted to eat in. That was a big mistake! Never eat in at Bias, buy their food and take it away. The food is good, the service is mean spirited and deliberately rude. It was a horrible experience. Good food, but the service ruined the experience and I ended by leaving before I had even finished my meal. I won't be returning for takeaway again, either. Pros: The food was tasty Cons: rude service, no parking more
