Good Food, Terrible Service 6/11/2007

The food is wonderful, everything one would expect from a locally-owned Italian restaurant. However, as good as the food is, it doesn't make up for the terrible service one receives at the register. Bianca has been littering my neighborhood with fliers and coupons for weeks, so I decided to give them a shot - I even took my best friend along, since we both wanted different things from the coupon menu and were going go Dutch. The food was wonderful, no complaints there. Our waiter was wonderful, a real winner who kept inquiring how we were and if we were enjoying our food - and we were. We got our bill and it was together; we assumed we could separate it at the counter. Well, we were wrong apparently. Not only could we not do that, we could only use one of our coupons and we had to put up with (1) people trying to push their way ahead of us in line, (2) a cashier who didn't know what she was doing, and (3) a manager who didn't want to hear or even really seem to care that we wanted to split the bill and each use a coupon. It was all or nothing: 1 bill, 1 coupon, zero caring. Bottom line is, the food was spectacular -- but it's not worth the hassle or the harassment. more

Delicious family owned Pizzaria 3/29/2006

Bianca Pizza and Pasta is a locally owned family establishment that has survived years in a perpetual construction zone. Their new location at 2790-4 W.Tenessee St (near Appleyard Drive) is much nicer than their previous location. The menu ranges from Pizzas, Pastas, calzones, subs, burgers, etc. I'd highly recommend the lunch specials where you can get a calzone or pasta dish with a salad and a drink for $6 (11am-4pm the non-lunch menu entrees range from $5-12 so you can always find a cheap meal). They also have a bar and a happy hour (2-4-1) from 5-9pm and the waiter mentioned something about beer-pong tournaments on weekend. Bianca's does have a slight attitude that caters to the nearby college students (aside from the beer pong)...the waiters wear shirts with the message "hey ladies, try our italian sausage," (just something to consider...I probably wouldn't bring my ultra-conservative grandmother here, for example). They have nice lcd tv's for watching games and an outdoor patio with two tv's and umbrellas. I think they still do pizza by the slice - but I did not see it on the menu (and was distracted by a stromboli that I wanted to try) and forgot to ask. At the old location it was $3 for a large slice of pizza and a pepsi. I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good, locally owned, and relatively inexpensive Italian. more
