Unless is it a life or death situation, DO NOT take your animal to this clinic. I cannot believe its been 1 year, 11 months, 20 days since #A876779 (aka Dutch) came into my life.He was a dog on Death Row. He has endured horrors at the hands of Human Beings. When he came to us, his ears where chopped off with scissors and his nails where cut off at the toe. Basically, he has some issues, but he is a good dog. I took him to this vet because they are open late, even though my appt was at 8, we waited over an hour, all the while my dog was increasingly anxious. When we saw the Dr. she put my 100+ pound dog on the table, making him even more anxious than he already was. He needed to see the vet because of anal bleeding, when the vet saw he had what turned out to be an anal fissure, she questioned if she should PULL IT OFF !?!?!?!??!?! Really ? I was wondering if this Dr Was SOBER ?!? My dog in protest to being anally violated nipped at me and my husband, and understandably so....then the vet more

If you Value your pet, do not go here. 5/5/2011

Worst Vet Around. Dr. Sandler was the most rude, crass and unprofessional veterinarian I have ever had the experience of meeting. She was very rough with my dog. Having been a dog owner and been to different vets along the years I ONLY went to Bellingham Animal Hospital as the reviews online gave it excellent recommendations. It is very apparent that the only people that go online are the ones who enjoyed it because it couldn't have been further from the truth. I will never go back. Ever. more

What Happened to BAH??? 4/1/2011

I have taken my animals to BAH for many years and found them compassionate and friendly (especially for our dog Goober , who had two surgeries there) UNTIL a few weeks ago when we had to euthanize our cat who was 17. Dr Sandler was so condesending and lack any sensitivity. My son and I left feeling horrible and angry with the way Tasha was treated, especially having made the difficult decision to euthanize her. PLEASE if you love your pets look for a more compassionate hospital we will no longer take our animals there. more

Officious surly vet interns a turn-off! 11/8/2010

Both my husband and me had used BAH for years but a few years ago, we noticed that the quality of service had deteriorated. Instead of a kindly hands-on vet like Ken Shea or the other experienced female vet, we now had to deal with the vet interns working there. One, an attractive young blond woman who seemed to have the empathy of a bread box, truly missed her opportunity to work at the \r Registry! Instead of knowing how to deal with a terrified dog, she proceeded to caustically lecture us until an experienced vet entered the room and instantaneously calmed our pet down. I assume that they still teach communication at vet school but apparently it must be all theory because these interns are lacking\r or must have skipped out on that class. We are now happy to give our business to Homeward Bound instead. more

Tell the Doctor how to operate. 12/4/2009

In my opinion there is really only one great vet there who I would continue to see if he had his own practice. They recommend costly tests for conditions that they know they can't treat, and then refer you to their "Specialist" who will order their own test. Basically making you your time and money with them for something they can't treat anyway. Why not just refer animal to a specialist in the first place? Money? more

Great people, easy parking, easy to find! 3/29/2006

I had not had a pet since growing up on a farm and well, we didn't take the barn cats into the vet. We lived in Millis at the time, and had numerous guinea pigs and the kids came home with a stray kitten. We brought the kitten into one of the vets, and had a check up and shots. All the kids had to go, so we had four of us, one kitten, and the vet in the little room. It was sort of comical really. They were great with Chloe, the cat, who was very nervous - she had lost her mother - and was living in the wild with 2 other kittens. She was terrified to go outside all the time we had her due to this, so car rides were horendous. The vet was great with the kids, and explained that her mother must have been an inside cat, since she did not have worms. Great first visit for the kids and the cat! PROS: Great vets, office staff. CONS: none more
