Beach Cafe

If you have a Prime card or a passport card, this is a great pick. Pros: 1) PRIME DISCOUNT : 2 for 1 entree -- This really increases the value to quality ratio 2) They have a great patio for sunny summer days -- even if they are rare for Seattle -- that overlooks the Lake Washington. Often you can catch a wedding party taking photos on the pier just outside the restaurant. 3) Validated Parking up to 2 hours if i remember correctly -- beware of those really long lunches or dinners 4) Food is decent. The salads are quite large. I liked their chicken piccata -- there was enough to share with a friend. 5) Happy Menu (but see Cons) Cons: 1) Happy Menu has discounted appetitzers but they used to hav ethem half price which made it that much better. I always get the sweet potato fries -- delicious! This is a restaurant that I would go to for a special occasion. Even with a prime card, the prices are still on the high end given the amount \ quality of food you are served. The ambience is great though with excellent views of Lake Washington more

No choice of jelly without asking. Too much butter on toast. Hashbrowns came with onions and peppers (not specified on menu)and very greasy. Bacon under cooked and greasy. Eggs ok. Don't do it!!! Would be better off at Poppinjay's or Denny's. more

The upstairs Yarrow Bay Grille is closed. New restaurant is on its way in. But now the 4-7pm Happy Hours, they allow patrons to have access to the patio that was closed off before. It's great! 50% off appetizers and $1 off draught beer. When weather is nice it's great to be sitting under the sun. Though it does get bit windy but they have warm blankets for people. more

The Beach Cafe http://www.ybbeachcafe.com/ has a 5-Star view of the lake. Some people take their boats to dine, docking at Carillion Point. They print their menus daily, they use fresh ingredients, so fresh that you will notice the difference in taste. Their chef does an excellent job of layering flavors, allowing the dominant food to retain its taste with other ingredients playing a supporting role rather than trying to compete for your palate's attention. Fresh seafood dominates the menu, so it's not a place for ardent vegetarians every day, though they can sometimes substitute tofu in some dishes in addition to the few vegetarian options that will probably be available regardless. more

i used to go to the beach cafe in kirkland all the time, and i could never finish a full salad. my fave was the one with (my mouth is watering just thinking about it) shrimp - tons of shrimp! and a full 1/2 avacado, always fresh. and lots of blue cheese and all sorts of other goodies, too. they have a full bar there and a killer deck. even if it's not nice enough to sit outside, you'll still get a view from almost any seat in the house. more

The Beach Cafe is a nice little place that's not too posh or stuffy, but still on the nice side. It has a good menu of continetal type things and is a little on the upper end in terms of price. Good service and nice setting. Great place for a lunch date of a business lunch. If you're in the area, stop in for a bite. more
