VERY glad we moved 3/15/2010

My husband and I just recently moved out. The only reason we didn't move the first chance we had was because we couldn't. The staff doesn't take complaints very seriously. They had a contractor come in and fix our carpet. The contractor destroyed our coffee table and it took them 4 months to reimburse us for it through our rent. I was asked by the manager why I didn't just write my rent for less the table even though I couldn't get anyone to give me anything in writing that I could do that. When we complained about the parking problems, we were told "That sucks, I know I live here too". They claim to be fixing the parking issue, but are only going to exacerbate the problem by allowing VISITORS to park in RESIDENT parking spots until 8pm. The hardest time to get parking is after 4pm. We would sometimes have to park on the other side of the building behind ours. The commercial building fire alarm goes off practically once every other week, requiring you to evacuate until the Fire Department gets there and there is an individual fire alarm going off practically every night. It is noisy and you can hear every apartments alarm go off in the complex. They require you to have your carpets professionally clean along with nickle and diming you out of your security deposit. My husband and I spent a full day scrubbing our apartment to look even nicer than when we moved in and they still charged us for things that were in better condition than when we were given the apartment. I would NOT recommend this place. Pros: Landscaping decent, trash man extremely nice and competent Cons: parking, office staff, fire alarms, gates hardly closed more

Your review Finally Babyberry I lived in these apartments for 3 years with my Cousin and i will have to say i couldnt be happier to be leaving this place for a number of reasons. 1. Fire Alarm constantly goes off at all hours of the night. 2. Elevator is broke at least 3 times a month (had to move all my stuff down the stairs becuase it was broken on move out date) 3. Parking is a disaster. If you do not park before 6 you are parking in Visitor lot. (there are times where we would park in an illegal spot due to the lack of spaces) Lets pay 1500/mo and park at Jordans next door!!! 4. The number one excuse at the office is "We have already called someone on that" 5. rodents in our apartment! On Call person laughed at me and told me that our cats had a better chance of catching them then maintinence. NO follow up from Bayberry!!! 6. Security Gates constantly broken. 7.The GYM is a joke, same single treadmill has been "temporarily out of service" for over a year and a half! 8. Office Staff improved toward the end of our stay, but was previously rude, not accomodating or helpful. 9.Door to apt complex always open (not locked) I would say the only positive thing about BayBerry is the Man who takes care of the trash disposal. He is probably the only person there that works 100% TIP: DONT MOVE HERE!!!!!!! more

my thoughts 5/19/2008

Bayberry Hills really isn't that bad of a place to live, i have read alot of reviews about it and of course most of them are bad reviews as people who are generally happy aren't really going to go online and write a review about it, were people who are not happy need to harp on stuff and get their frustration out. i've lived here for about 2 years now and have just renewed our lease, the location is great and you are minutes away from shopping and restaurants. granted the traffic is not great during christmas but then thats just the nature of the game. any issues i have had with stuff getting fixed has been done within the next day or two. the new windows and doors are great, i haven't noticed any draft problems, in fact i have yet to turn my heat on during my entire stay here saving me hundreds of dollars. durring the winter months my the temp in my apartment has been between 65 and 73 sometimes its too warm and i have to open the window. they are putting fios in, but it will be a while for them to connect the buildings to the main line on the street, according to the verizon guy who was in my apartment. parking is a pain, but i've only really had extreme difficulty when coming home really late, but then i just have to park in the visitor parking area which really isn't that big of a deal. all in all i would suggest living here or at least checking it out. i think the rent is a bit on the high end but for the location its probably worth it. more

Glad to be Moving 4/11/2008

The last 6 months at this place have been brutal. The office staff's favorite line seems to be "we've called someone about that." My wife and I have contacted maintenance and the office every week for the last 6 weeks regarding the lack of hot water and water pressure in building 33. We've been told a "gasket is broken" but nothing has been done about it. We were told to let the water run for 20 minutes or so and it should get hot. When it came to the pressure, we were told to try showering at different times. No matter the time of day, we get no pressure. More than once it has been to the point where we literally couldn't shower. We haven't had hot water in our sink in 6 months. The issue was finally resolved in the last week. Yes, the property has a gym. However, it is poorly kept up at best. Treadmills are often broken, remotes for televisions go missing. The age restriction is never enforced and causes many issues with regards to equipment abuse. The property is gated. Yet, for the entire winter, the back gate was broken as someone had driven through it and was never fixed. They replaced windows...incorrectly. Beyond requiring entrance to the apartment to install them, they needed entrance three additional times to fix mistakes. Worse, the new windows are DECIDEDLY drafty and have caused a 20% increase in my heating bill year over year for the last 3 months. They've decided to install FIOS, which is great. But the technician stopped in one building and has not returned. Residents are required to have parking stickers, but nothing is done to illegally parked cars and visitor cars are not tagged by security any longer. All in all, from the day we moved in, things have progressed steadily downward. We bought a house and that is the ultimate reason we are leaving. That said, I can guarantee we would have been looking elsewhere to rent if this were not the case. As an update, they eventually did the right thing and we were not charged a fee to move out. Pros: Location, Appearance, Safety Cons: Highly Priced for area, Pet rent, Slow to respond, Hot Water more
