I hate to write a negative review, especially for a place I love to shop at, but I got 80 cents each for nice items that I left there on consignment. I've purchased a great many items at this store and have NEVER found an item for sale for $2 which is what the final cost would have been to have received 80 cents. I've been back several times since to look and nope, no $2 items. They also (allegedly) sold a 3-piece cocktail suit for $15 based on my 40% take. I really, really dislike accusing people of underhandedness, but either their accounting system is way off or they're selling things under some circumstances for far less than the marked price. more

I'm so shocked at some of these reviews. I don't normally write reviews but felt that I should since I've had such an awesome experience with this place. I have used it for YEARS........probably since they opened and I have never had one single issue. I take a lot of my clothes there and have always been greeted when I walked in and treated in the most respectful way. I have even had the owner tell me that if I didn't have time to bring my items in that she would pick them up at my house!!!!! How's that for service. I can't say enough nice things about this place!!! I definitely highly recommend it. Their prices are great and they're almost always having a 20% off sale. more

I was humiliated on the day that I wanted to consign clothing. I was told that my clothing was out of style, stained or picked...none of which were true. She, the manager, would not accept any of my clothing and I was told that everything would automatically go on the mark down isle if I left it there. I have purchased nice sweaters and tops from this store on three different trips. They look brand new & one was off white! I always recieve compliments from strangers & friends when I wear them & will definitely be back there to shop some more! I have not had the chance to look closely at the jewelry, but it appears that there is a nice selection of this too. Next Time! Pros: Designer Clothes more

I have worked in the retail clothing business for 12 years. I have NEVER witnessed such rude behavior by employees as I have at this store. I witnessed an employee speaking to a shopper in the most disrespectful, condescending manner I've EVER witnessed in my years in the business. I immediately walked out with my friend in utter disbelief. To the owner: You must consider all postings here and realize you have a problem with your staff!?! Instead of writing about the quality of your consigned clothing, you should take a closer look at customer service. When consumers are given poor customer service it trumps the quality and price of your clothing. Many customer service training classes are offered and I appeal to you to look into this option. Another option is to get new staff. By the postings alone, your business has likely suffered. Apparently, there is also a problem with adequate payment for goods sold by consignors. This is another reputation your store has in the business community. I love Austin and want local businesses to succeed so I hope you will take necessary measures to better your reputation. In my initial experience with this store, I found two pairs of shoes on clearance for $4 each and a fabulous dress on clearance for $65. This definitely beats Persistent Threads in Oak Hill. The quality of stuff at this consign-place is sometimes good so if you are going to buy, you might like it. But if you are going to put things there to sell, don't do it. They are rude to you if they don't like your looks but will take your really good stuff and shove the rest in your face. They don't give you any accounting and they don't mail you your checks like they say. You always have to ask for them. And then somehow they are only for a dollar or two. I don't have proof that they are lying about what they sell things for, but I am pretty sure they take a lot more than they say they do. I decided it is better to donate my things from now on. my dos centavos. more

On the whole, the pricing here is way out of the range of my thrift/consignment budget ($30 for a plain Banana Republic top). This may be due to the large amount of designer clothing, but I think the prices are still pretty high. However, with some digging through wracks of semi-organized merchandise, I did find two clearance items that were pretty good deals. The cashier greeted me in a friendly manner, but then spent the entire checkout process chatting with a friend in Spanish and mostly ignoring me. They do let you keep the hangers, though, which I liked. So on the whole, a mediocre experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, especially since Savers is right across the street. more

I am so glad to read that other people have experienced the same level of rudeness and disrespect by the staff of this store - I thought it was something I was doing! I have never consigned with them but my mom has and has lots of complaints about them. I stopped shopping here because it wasn't worth my time to be treated so badly - plus their selection is really not quality stuff. more

The person that wrote professional business must have been the owner who was trying to write a good review. I agree with the other writer, this is a horrible place of business. They were rude and just VERY unprofessional. The owner never gave me her attention and I felt like a second class citizen. One of her employees told me to move out of her way and almost knocked me over. Her only response was that ""you are in my way and you need to move to the over side of the room."" I will never visit this place again or recommend to anyone to visit. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The clothes are also over priced and look worn. more

I was treated very poorly by the employees at this store. I consigned clothing, most of which sold, but I had to practically beg for my remaining items and payment. During my interactions with a particular employee, I was hung up on, told they didn't have time to cut checks, and then snubbed while at the store. The fact they were rude on top of retaining my goods and payment just added insult to injury. Pros: location Cons: service, poor business practices more

I have been doing business with Baubles and Beads for the past 3 years and have always found them to be friendly and polite. They have answered my questions and helped me throught the process of selling my items efficiently. I have never been treated unfairly or rudly in all the time I have been doing business with them. My checks have always come on time and if I had a problem they were always helpful and professional in handling it. Pros: friendly service, good selection, prompt payment more

While this store offers the opportunity to purchase clothing merchandise at a reduced price, their store personnel are so RUDE that it's not worth the discount. I find better customer service (and even product selection) at Goodwill or Thrift Town. Pros: convenient location Cons: The WORST Customer treatment I've ever found in ANY business. more
