Pleasant and professional 8/9/2011

The delivery guys were fantastic. Ours was not an easy delivery, our driveway is steep requiring them to carry all the pieces up the driveway and then up to our living level on the second floor. They were so careful not to damage the furniture and the walls, having to make a difficult turn on the landing with a very heavy sofa. They were both very pleasant and professional, oh and I will add it was raining that day. We want you to know how very much we appreciate the great service your staff gave us. KUDOS to all of them. We have been Selden's customers over the years and we will certainly continue that practice. more

My daughter and son-in-law recently purchased the Coventry Dinette Set. The set only had four chairs in the RUSH seats. For a housewarming gift, I was hoping to purchase an additional two chairs to complete the set. When I called your store, I was told that yes you in fact do have the two chairs I needed. I immediately purchased them by phone. It turned out that the computer was misinformed and what you had were two upholstered chairs. These did not match my daughter's set. But, Mary went above and beyond what an ordinary salesperson would do. She called the manufacturing company and was able to persuade them to make two seats in the RUSH finish, even though the line was discontinued. more

They took the time 7/19/2011

They not only spent time to get everything centered and in place, they took the time to move it around a bit until it was exactly the way I wanted it. I suspect they must have detected from the expression on my face that something wasn't quite right for me, and one of them asked if he could make a suggestion. He suggested moving things around just a bit. I figured it couldn't hurt to try it, and he was absolutely correct. I am happier with the configuration he suggested. more

Very good at what they do 7/14/2011

Joe and Peter were considerate, respectful, knowledgeable, careful, and just very good at what they do. They not only saved my husband and I some back-breaking work with trying to move furniture around, but they did it all with a genuine smile on their faces. I tend to have high expectations, and these two young men not only met my expectations, but far exceeded them. I would like to nominate them for any award that your organization bestows for outstanding customer service. They are a big asset to Selden's Furniture! more

They brought pads for me 6/28/2011

I had asked if they would mind tipping the heavier pieces up so that I could cut and place furniture pads on the bottom of the pieces (they were delivering a very heavy dining table, heavy two-piece hutch, and six chairs). They informed me that they brought pads for me and would install them for me, and they did just that. I was thinking that was great more

To begin the experience, they showed up within the two-hour time frame that I was given. When they arrived, they came to the door and introduced themselves, assessed the spot in my home where I wanted the furniture placed, and met my dog?asking her name and petting her so they put her at ease from the get-go. They asked if it was okay if they left the door open while they went in and out getting my furniture set up. They made a comment about the condition of my wood floors (I just had them refinished) and they protected them well. more

Our home and its design have always been very important to me. Maybe I place too much significance in its appearance, but it has been thrilling to see the house come together, plan by plan . . . piece by piece. This is where we are most comfortable, where we choose to be. As we near completion, I am often struck how pleased we are at the outcome. more

I had some furniture delivered that I purchased from Selden?s Home Furnishings. There were two delivery people that came to my home that day. I know only their first names: Joe and Peter. It has been such a joy to work with Lindy Bloedel Fleming that I have felt compelled to write to you to express our appreciation. For three or four years Walt and I have been working with Lindy as we have been completing the furnishing and interior design of our home. From draperies and furnishings to accessories and wall painting, Lindy has lead us in perfect choices with her expertise, knowledge, and connections. Additionally, Lindy kept us focused. When I'd tend to randomly bounce from project to project, room to room, she would skillfully re-direct us to complete rooms in a logical order. This kept things a little more sane and sensible. Lindy's organization is also top-notch. On two occasions Lindy had a florist, an upholster, then a wall artist line up at our home like an airport traffic controller lines up planes ready for landing. We were able to coordinate several projects in an evening. With our busy schedule, this coordination has simplified our projects. Our home and its design have always been very important to me. Maybe I place too much significance in its appearance, but it has been thrilling to see the house come together, plan by plan . . . piece by piece. This is where we are most comfortable, where we choose to be. As we near completion, I am often struck how pleased we are at the outcome.
