Long time client - great vet 1/22/2009

Our family has used Dr. Barnes for almost 15 years. His prices, advice and service has always been great! He gives you his opinion on your animals health and care leaving the decision as a pet owner in your hands. He did surgery on our two year old cat that would have died without it and he is now 12 years old and healthy. We enjoy the friendliness of the staff, respect the expert advice, skills and care of Dr. Barnes and our pocket book likes his prices. Ultimately the care of all of our animals belongs in our hands to make the best decision for our own conscience and finances. For us, Barnes Veterinary Service very wise choice. more

You are SO wrong about Dr Barnes 4/21/2007

You sound like the type of person that would hold onto a terminally ill animal just for yourself. NOT once thinking what the next few weeks could bring or months and the pain and suffering the animal would go through due to selfishness on your part. Also his prices are so reasonable and WOULD of done what he could to help your animal regardless of wether or not if he thought it was not humane or not. He would never tell anyone he won't fix or help their animal. You need to rethink your comments and come to grips that a lot of your post is lies and bashing because he was straight forward and honest with you. Get your story straight and how about some honesty. I've been seeing him for my care for years and he is the most trustworthy person I know. more

Not the Best Vet 2/2/2006

For a while my family and I used Dr. Barnes for our veterinarian. After several incidents, however, we decided to stop using that particular vet. When our rabbit got sick, he knew what was wrong, but he told us a rabbit wasn’t worth treating; we took the rabbit to another vet, who DID treat her, and the rabbit is alive to this day – very old, but very healthy. Also, I almost adopted a cat who was very sick; when I took her in for her initial checkup, Dr. Barnes also knew what was wrong with her, but advised me to take her back, as it wasn’t worth treating her since she wasn’t a long-time, beloved pet. The cat died the following weekend, back at the shelter from where I’d originally gotten her. Although I can understand Dr. Barnes’ reasoning, I also think that on multiple occasions he displayed a certain degree of heartlessness that is not befitting a person who has chosen to help sick animals as his career. more
