BOGUS!. 2/21/2011

No way Jose. I will never go here again. I worked at a veterinarian's office so now I know MUCH BETTER than to go here. This place is completely corporate, they will always try to sell you things. And PAYMENT PLANS?! INSURANCE PACKAGES? Oh one girl told me certain shots were "mandatory". I tried to tell her I knew they weren't and she sneered at me. Oh, I'm sorry sweetie I didn't realize you were a doctor who knew everything. Oh wait... you're a vet tech in training.... so you don't...\r \r Oh AND the best part, I brought my dogs stool sample in because he was dragging his rear on the carpet and I noticed a few worms in previous stool. But apparently they "didn't see anything" in the stool sample I brought. So I had to go back again and was charged another visit fee just to confirm what I already knew. My dog got worms from the kennel. So yes, another visit fee. Wonderful.\r \r Look I'm not one of those cheap people or a complainer, I just think that pets should receive extra care. They ca more

We went to Banfield and joined the wellness plan. well the automatic payments are fine, We knew what to expect every month. but every time we went to pick up our dog, the want to sell us all kinds of stuff and charge us an outrageous amount of money. we took our dog in for his check-up, just to find out that they knocked him out. they said that when the vet went to check his teeth, he tried to bite them. so now every time he goes there they will have to knock him out. our dog is a small dog that weighs about 5 pounds. he is very lovable, SO i wonder what they really did that made him mad. well we decided not to go back, and we found a new vet locally, which will see all 4 of our dogs. more

Animal Lovers True and True 6/27/2006

I love Banfield pet hospital. I feel extremely comfortable taking my pet here. He is my baby and they take excellent care of him. Yes, he has even had surgery here with no problems at all. Just as people may have complications and doctors coming up against something new or unfamiliar to them, the same thing with pets. I have worked in healthcare for 20 years and beleive me, nurses, doctors, surgeons all come up against something they are not familiar with. You really cant expect them to know each and every million or so disease that is out there . . . can you? Banfield if wonderful to my pet and I see satisfied people come out of there every time I am there or at the Petsmart store. They are worth checking out for yourself and your pet! PROS: Great pet packages. CONS: Not open all night for emergencies. more

Banfield Pet Hospital 7/13/2005

My dog has been going to Banfield from the time we adopted him. I've noticed that they really try to sell you on everything, making it sound like your pet really needs it and you don't have much of a choice. However, you do have a choice. Listen carefully to what they want to give your pet and ask lots of questions. For example, if your dog doesn't go to dog parks don't allow them to give him/her the shot that is for dogs that do attend. There's no need for it. You may also be waiting a while for your appt. Sometimes they are prompt, sometimes they aren't. Aside from that, the office is clean and staff are animal lovers. more

Good for routine care, would go elsewhere for surgery/more complicated problems 7/9/2005

The Dr's here are nice and fairly knowledgeable with routine things, however I don't feel surgery is their expertise. I had my dog in for a relatively minor surgery to remove a tumor from his leg (he had this done once before at another vet). Afterwards, his entire abdomen was one huge bruise and he didn't bounce back as quickly as he did before. They didn't seem to know about his particular tumor and had to look it up. If your dog needs surgery or has a problem that may be more complex, I would go to a place with more expertise in these areas. PROS: Reasonable prices, friendly staff CONS: Not open 24 hrs, not surgical "experts", frequently busy more
