My wife took me here for my birthday and the menu was printed with a personalized birthday message. I hightly recommend asling for one of the two tables by the window. Great food along with great service. Ask for any special wines Nathan may have that are not on the wine list! Pros: great food, great wine, great service Cons: a bit crowded, a bit nosey more

Overpriced but great service 2/14/2005

The food was good but not great as I would have expected from the other reviews and the price. $7 Salad was a few pieces of lettuce with some oil and a couple of nuts spread around the plate. $28 Steak was just ok with enough spinach and potatoes for a young child. Moulton chocolate cake, because they were out of our first selection, was reminiscent of undercooked chocolate cake rather than moulton. Drinks were good and strong but they were also out of the liquors needed for the drinks we ordered first. I will say that the wait staff was excellent and made the experience pleasant. Pros: Strong drinks, friendly staff Cons: Overpriced, Loud atmosphere, Crampted tables more

Tremendous Service 1/14/2005

The service at Baldwins was exceptional right from the start. The woman who took my reservation was very pleasant, and offered to have a birthday greeting printed on the menu for my date. The owner came by the table to make sure everything was wonderful, and to extend his birthday wishes. The prices could seem a bit high, for the area, but the service, quality of food, and decor certainly made up for that. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. more

Best Downtown Dinner in the Area 5/6/2003

Nathan Baldwin has been doing excellent things on Elm St. The food is always excellent and the service is prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly with out being too intrusive. This is the only up-market restaurant in Manchester, and I have enjoyed dinner there on a number of occasions. There are frequent special menu nights where you are offered a dinner for two with starters and desserts, paired with a glass of red and a glass of white. Pros: Great food, Great Service, Excellent Wine List Cons: Can be Crowded, Sometimes Loud more
