i had them do an oil change. as expected, they don't really set you up for an appointment. they'll say you have to go there early in the morning. they did what is expected but they're not welcoming/friendly. well as long as they do the job right i'm ok with it. more

I have taken my 325ia here about half a dozen times. I have always been happy with their work. Prior to each job, I also checked with dealer and they were significantly lower (about half to two-thirds of what deal charged. You do want to be there at opening time to ensure a slot (about 7:30 AM). Owner sometimes comes across as brash but I have found him very warm and most of all direct and honest. I would highly recommend this shop. more

I was referred to this place some time ago by a friend who was the previous owner of my Mercedes ML 320. I’ve taken my cars to BMW & Mercedes Service of Sherman Oaks ever since, about 4 years now. I’ve always received excellent service - they do good work, and are pretty reliable. For a mechanical shop, they are surprisingly honest. If they tell you that something’s wrong with your car, you can be sure that it is. They are patient with all your questions and guarantee their work. Most of the work done on my Mercedes ML 320 & BMW 325 was routine maintenance; they will recommend repair or replacing parts only when needed. Their prices are fair and reasonable, especially compared to a dealership. They charge you for the work that need to be done to your car – nothing more, nothing less. Most importantly, the car was ready when they SAID it would be done! I've waited way too long at other places that would promise “first thing in the morning”, and I’d end up with my car 3 days later. I wouldn't trust anyone else to work on my cars. They are always top rate, honest, friendly and thorough. I haven't had a single negative experience taking my car to this shop, and have sent many of my friends over to BMW & Mercedes Service of Sherman Oaks. All have been completely satisfied with work. Expect condescending and poor customer service and this place will not disappoint. The process works like this: Call a day or two in advance to schedule an appointment and you'll be directed to "Just show up before 8:00 AM" on the day you want the work done. Show up as instructed and you'll be greeted with an annoyed look and a, "I'm not sure if we can fit you in... Why didn't you call?" Every time I've been there it's the same drill. While the guys who run the shop clearly know their trade, their attitudes, and the guys in back who do the actual work on your car, leave a lot to be desired. Had three generally luke-warm experiences here before giving up on them. The first two were marked by antagonistic, slow service, but the work was good so I let the niceties slide. The third time, they managed to destroy some brake pads I'd supplied for installation and the box along with them, rendering them unreturnable. Also, they managed to so before even installing them. Not recommended. more
