Excellent setting but very underdeveloped both in decor and food quality/choice. More the feeling of an upscale overpriced Denny's in a really nice location. No ambiance to spea...

i strongly disagree with this rating. I think azaleas is very average. My last experience there was less than desirable, to say the least. the service was horriffic, not to mention my food was undercooked and cold. i dont think i'll be in any hurry to return. Hit or Miss 11/22/2005

My dining experience can be great or completely awful according to one thing; whether or not there are smokers at the bar. Since the whole place is ""wide open"" when people smoke at the bar, it can be choking in there. I have always liked the food here, especially the Pacific rim dishes. However, a few weeks ago was our last visit unless they ban smoking. Ruined our meal and I smelled horrible afterwards. Pros: Wine list, Good food Cons: Smoke more

We have dined here twice and the food is awful. I could have a fresher salad from a bag at my house. The service was abysmal. If this is the best this city has to offer, out-of-towners will be disappointed! more

Very Enjoyable 6/26/2004

I very much enjoyed a lovely evening dining with Azalea recently. I've been before, but not often, and not for a while. For a celebration dinner, my better half voted for dining on the beautiful patio. Food has improved from the last time we visited, staff seems very on top of things, and the patio is second to none. A minor mistake was handled graciously and remedied very well. Kudos to the staff for executing a wonderful job. Pros: wine list, patio, service more

Wow! 6/25/2004

Must admit, was put off by some negative reviews posted, but visited Azalea at the high recommendation of friends who live in Louisville (I just moved here). Amazing patio, great wine list, fun cocktails, and contrary to the review I read, educated and caring service. Had a fish special of the evening-was perfect. THE place to see and be seen it seems form the crowd on hand. Obviously, their longevity is due to them doing a lot of things right. I will absolutely be back. Pros: food, mood, service more

Wake up to the 6/25/2004

I eat at Azalea regularly, and I have not had a bad meal yet. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and the wine. I suggest having a Cosmo or a glass of wine. Go on Wednesdays, all the wine by is half price. However, the best part of this place is the variety, the specials are constantly changing and unique. I think the previous statements of having a bad experience at this restaraunt are absurd. Open your mind to new experiences and let yourself have a night to explore Azalea, it will not dissapoint. Over-rated 1/31/2003

Excellent setting but very underdeveloped both in decor and food quality/choice. More the feeling of an upscale overpriced Denny's in a really nice location. No ambiance to speak of. Service fair. Food mediocre at best. Have tried several times just to make sure. Nice place but not worthy of a return engagement for any 'dining' reason found so far. Find this rating odd for a restaurant that is regularly 'panned' by local reviewers - as not really 'bad' but just not up to snuff. more

The ambiance at Azalea's restaurant is superb. Mixed with the different and rather eclectic menu items, Azalea's is rapidly becoming my favorite restaurant in Louisville. Pros: Tasty, Different Food, Ample Parking more

My boyfriend and I have been going to Azalea's for the past 3 years. My favorite dish is the salmon... and his is the steak. Of course... we also enjoy thier signature desert to complete our tasty meals. We have enjoyed every visit that we have made to Azalea's and I personally recommend them for any occasion. more

Awesome 6/26/2002

After dining at Azalea, I was very pleased the service and food was great. I had the coconut shrimp for an app (it is out of this world) and for an entree I had the beef tenderloin, the best I have ever had. I would recommend Azalea to anyone who asked for a great restaurant to try. Pros: Awesome more
