Autumn Court Chinese Restaurant

I have ordered delivery from this restaurant twice. Each time, I order from their online menu and exactly meet their 15 dollar minimum order out of courtesy. There is a 1.50 charge extra for a delivery fee, and after tax it should come out to me spending around 17.50. Both times they have charged me 22 dollars and some change. The food is decent, however, you have to decide if it's worth the hassle of arguing with the very stubborn employees to get charged what you should. more

Chicken & shrimp I believe were steamed which I'm not a huge fan of since all the flavor is lost, I prefer the chicken and shrimp to be pan fried with a delicious sauce preferably. I had the noodles which were fairly tasty, white rice which I enjoy, but wasn't a huge fan of the chopped cucumber, carrots, green peppers and onions mixed in with the chicken and shrimp. If you're looking for a unique delicious experience, this restaurant wouldn't be my recommendation. But when you're in a hurry and need to chow something down, I say the food is edible. I called in an order for delivery. They are 5 minutes away. It was a Monday night, about 9:30 PM. They told me ""40 to 50 minutes"". I thought that was odd that it would take so long--they must be really busy for a Monday night! Turns out, they may have torn my order up or just decided to not deliver. The food never showed up. When I called back to check on my food at exactly 50 minutes, they didn't pick up. You would think that if they had trouble delivering food to a customer, they would pick up the phone if the same phone number calls back??? Obviously, they didn't care about me. I called back and was treated rudely by the person who answered the phone. They offered to cook the food and deliver it....24 hours late. I said ""It better be free"". They never showed up AGAIN. Obviously, they wanted to CHARGE ME FOR FOOD THAT WAS TO BE DELIVERED A DAY LATE! When I mentioned that I shouldn't be charged--well, you can see how they treated a customer. Save yourself pain and misery and get your cheap chinese food (that's ALL there is in PHX, folks) somewhere else, where they treat their customers better! Pros: None known Cons: Food doesn't show up. My boyfriend and I decided to eat here Christmas night. I had called Jade Palace in Scottsdale (both locations) only to find the wait for a table was around an hour at either one. We arrived at Autumn Court around 5:45 pm. and were seated immediately. The atmosphere was very intimate, warm and cozy-- perfect for a cold December night.\r \r \r \r Our order included an appetizer, Paper Wrapped Chicken & Dinner Specials Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce as our main entrees. We joked, we laughed, we waited. And waited. And waited... We were just about to leave at around 10 till seven when lo and behold, (slow restaurants must have some kind of irritated customer sensor) our 'appetizer' came. Paper Wrapped Chicken turned out to be 6 aluminum foil triangles with tiny pieces of chicken (I'm talking a normal size spoonful of one piece of chicken) wrapped in them, no vegetables, just chicken that apparently was marinated in some greasy, oily black-flecked substance which didn't taste like anything. One chicken blob I opened was completely burnt and black... My boyfriend started laughing at the situation-- the irony of waiting over an hour for an appetizer that was about as appetite-whetting as six peas on a plate. We started joking about how the chef and waitstaff must be into some kind of dinner-torture thing.\r \r \r \r We laughed, we joked, we waited... We ran out of stuff to talk about. I became so bored I began unintentionally listening to other people's conversations. I felt like I was drifting in and out of consciousness waiting for our food. Waiters scurried past quickly the entire time, not making eye contact; not offering a single apology about the wait. Then a little after 7:15 (!) --remember, we were seated and our order taken 1 1/2 hours ago-- our food finally came. Just the entrees. No soup or egg rolls like we had ordered . I always order a dish called Almond Chicken and most Phx restaurants cook it different than I am used to having in Michigan. This restaurant was the first who did a great job cooking my food the way I love it!!! Mmmm good! I've ordered out and ate in the restaurant and both ways it's very accomodating and nice! Pros: Excellent food and service! Cons: Far from my home, but worth it more

This place was fabulous!! We took our two children (4 and 18mths). The waiter was so wonderful with them, and totally aware of their needs. He made them some origami animals to keep them entertained. They never let our drinks make it to the bottom before they brought us more. The food was to die for. It was fresh, hot, and delicious. On the contrary, this restaurant is very good. I can't believe someone would say the food was ""just average."" I would beg to differ and say the food was extraordinary. The lighting was also pretty well done- not too dark yet not too light. The service was great; having a waiter who would cater to our needs.
