Very expensive, overcharging for simple items 11/15/2010

The service manager wanted to charge me one hour each for each of the diagnostic codes resulting from the check engine light. Probably because I told him I won't want to pay $125 labor (1.5 hours work) for something that should only take 15 minutes or less for me to do (change out the ignition coil). And another $220 labor (2.75 hours) for replacing a power relay. Other shops have only charge 30 minutes for plugging in the diagnostic computer and getting the diagnostic codes, instead of the 2 hours the service manager wanted to charge me. I ended up paying for 1 hour for getting the diagnostic codes. Pretty much a waste of time and money. more

PURE TEXAS and VW Meet for a one of a kind VW shop 8/19/2009

I have had great experiences in the service center and most recently at the body shop with Jaun. When you own VW machines you dream of a place like this so you never have to set foot in a dealer service center at ($90+ per hr for VW dealer rate). My van was dinged up in the front near a lot of the relays and battery related fuses and Jaun went the extra mile for me to repair everything and when Progressive asked him to use salvaged electric parts he fought to put new parts in and fixed it right. Dale also works very hard and below his gruff biker outside he is a Teddy Bear. Thanks again to Jaun and the body shop!!!! Patrick Pros: Salvage yard, body shop, parts, service in ONE -Good People! Ten Stars For Austin VEE Dub 1/18/2009

Austin Vee Dub is a ten on our scale! They are honest, fair, attentive and do great work, too! They stand behind their work and ""Darryl"" is an angel-no fluffy, white wings protrude from his shirt, but trust me he is trustworthy and fair to deal with. We live 70 miles from them and will always turn to them first for repairs. If you have a VW, Volvo, or Audi, that needs TLC Austin Vee Dub is the place to go. Thank you Vee Dub, Darryl, Sam and all! Horrible. Incompetent. Dishonest. Shifty. 6/4/2008

Darrel, the ""service manager"" hates Vanagons. When I first bought my Vanagon I paid them good money to inspect the car and perform a few other repairs. Since then I have learned to fix my own car. I have found that they did not do the repairs they said they did and the repairs they did do have since failed. Pros: Good used parts department. Cons: Don't take your Vanagon there. more

Soooo glad i found this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3/11/2008

I had the hardest time finding a good mechanic to work on my jetta. I went through 3 mechanics and none of them could tell me what was wrong with it. Last resort, i callled up veedub and spoke with Daryl and right from the start he knew what he was talking about and told me to come in as soon as possible. When i got there, i was seen right away and was quoted a very reasonable price. I thought i would have to wait forever but was only there for an hour! While i was waiting, i was offered a refreshment and we talked about my car and it's problems. I am so glad i found this place, Daryl was very detailed and i didnt feel like he was trying to rip me off and sell me something i didnt need. I am so glad i found this place and will definitley go back!!!!!!!!! Thanks Daryl your a save!!! Pros: Repair and customer service more

Veedub rocks! 2/8/2007

I had new tires ordered for my VW Jetta..they were there in a matter or days and I was called as soon as they got in. I drove my car in and my new tires were put on and balanced PERFECTLY in No time at all. All...while I waited in a nice waiting room with internet connected computer and t.v! Hooow niiiice! The guys are super nice there and made sure I was all taken care of. Pros: friendly, fast, nice waiting room Cons: nada more

Friendly Staff 9/3/2006

So I made a mistake and did a little damage to my pretty little Jetta. I called up Charles Maund to see what they could do to help me. The service woman sounded offended that I should even think to speak to her. I got on Citysearch, found other Austin VW Body Repair shops and that's how I came to Austin Veedub. Everyone there was extremely kind, attentive and helpful. I was given and quote and this is what I was charged. (It was HALF what the dealership would've charged!!) No sneakiness, no snottiness. The awesome cleaning job they did afterward almost made backing into that pole worth it. They even included an extra bottle of touch up paint. Nicer, quicker, cheaper, better, honest-er. Great service, great price. Also on the way to the airport, so you can get your car fixed if you are headed out of town. :) Car came back looking better than ever. Pros: used parts when available more

Fender Repair 3/11/2006
