Mr.

Darren was great! he was friendly and professional. We purchased a service agreement to keep the equipment in good condition. I would highly recommend them.

Worst

Atlas Butler provides quick and excellent customer service; HOWEVER, the quality of their products are TERRIBLE! I bought a brand new furnace from them in 2008 - today (2013), I ...

Great Service 9/2/2010

I have been using Atlas Butler for a couple of years now to service our primary home and rental property. Not only are we on a maintenance agreement for all of our property (luckily no major issues due to regular maintenance), but they also have done duct work cleaning as well. They have always been prompt, professional, courteous, and priced right. My mother has been using Atlas Butler for 40 years, if that says anything. more

Excellent 8/30/2010

I have been doing business with Atlas for about ten years. I have always had a good experience with them. Their technicians are always curtious and efficient. I've never had an experience where they tried to pressure me into purchasing or doing something that was beyond the needed repair. I am very happy with them and their employees. more

Happy Homeowner 8/26/2010

I have to say I have been so pleased with Atlas Butler. We signed up for the routine service plan and within the first week we had the furnace completely cleaned. The service tech was here for about 5 1/2 hours and even though our condo is only 6 years old it definately needed all the cleaning. The thing I liked is that he gave me tips on how to have my furnace run more efficiently and didn't try to sell me something. Generally that is what has always happened with other contractors. more

Prompt, professional and a good value 8/24/2010

When it came time to replace our AC unit we got half a dozen quotes, put them all into a spreadsheet to compare cost, warranty, if the installer would stay in business long enough to service it, etc. and AB came out on top. They didn't try to oversell us something we didn't need, they were candid about what we did and didn't need. They were then prompt and professional when installing the unit. They installed the new, hauled away the old and left my wife's flower beds (where the unit was installed) in better shape than before they arrived! They represent a good value for what they deliver. more

Atlas Butler was great 8/23/2010

Atlas Butler recently came out to our house to look at our air conditioner. They were great. I was not home at the time of the repair but if my wife is happy after a stranger is in our house then im happy. She was very happy about them being on time, how professional and courteous the technician was and how clean and careful the tech was while he was in our home. And our A/C was up and running great by the time he left. Just wanted to say thanks to Atlas Butler for reliving some stress in my life. more

Always Be Closing 8/17/2010

Atlas Butler comes out quicker than anybody in Columbus. When the technician arrives they will have a rehearsed script that they are all supposed to know verbatim. Once they diagnose your problem they will present a price guide that starts at $89 and goes up to $1500. However whatever you need repaired will most likely cost between $200-$850. Once they get you to authorize the repair they will try to sell you on a service contract and also tell you of at least one part that should also be replaced. They will explain the part and then scare you into buying it, because the fear of not having heating and cooling are fresh in your memory. After you're done buying the repair and the part that would most likely last another 5-10 years, and oh yeah the contract, you will probably owe them around $700 or so. Then somebody will be back in the fall to clean your furnace, scare the daylights out of you about heat exchanger cracks, carbon monoxide, hot surface ignitors or leaking blower motors(wh more

Run, don't walk the other way 7/13/2010

Everything about this company stinks EXCEPT ITS FINE EMPLOYEES. All of the service men I have dealt with are professional, competent and nice. They just happen to work for a company headed by scum bags who prey on unsuspecting customers. I too got a new thermostat for a whopping $300+ dollars and I then foolishly signed up for another screw job when I signed up for their annual service contract. Their fine print puts the S in scum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't ever call them. Pros: Excellent work Cons: Grossly over priced more

Heads up 6/9/2010

I read the reveiw of the person needing a inducer motor, average cost of indurer motor is around 100 dollars, and as high as 350 for a Trane motor, They have a 350% mark up on ther parts, but if you sign a sevice agreement with them they will save you 10%, what a joke, now you mark up is 340% My sujestion is to always get 3 estimates. I know the above info because i am an ex employee [thank God]. They are the highest cost in town, and you don't get what you pay for, residental service is paid on commision, the more they charge the more they make. You my get something fixed you really didn't need. GET 3 BIDS Pros: none Cons: super high mark up more

First Time was a CHARM 5/25/2010

I had Atlas Butler out to our home for the first time yesterday. They were actually 10 minutes ahead of schedule and were very professional and courteous. The tech spent extra time with me showing what was wrong with my system. It ended up being a minor part and my system was back up and running. They did not try and sell me something I did not need. I was very impressed and will use them again. They are welcome in my home anytime. Thank You Atlas Butler. more

Don't do it 4/7/2010

Had them out to fix my air conditioner. the wife has breathing problems and must have air conditioning, The guy took off the cover and said he could see two bad parts (without testing). He said each part was $344,00 for a total of $788.00 but if I bought their service contract I could save $20.00. I paid the $768.45. Said he also gave me the senior citizen discount. I requested the old parts so I could price these parts on the internet. Turns out one part was $12.95 and the other was $38.95 for a total of $51.90. \r That means the 30 min. labor cost was $714.10 or $1428.20 per hour. I think I got their senior citizen shaft instead of the discount. Wish I knew how to test those old parts. more

Read the fine print on their Service Club agreement 11/22/2009

I wanted to have my furnace cleaned one season and the charge was either $240 up front, in full, or $19.95 per month auto deducted for the "Service Club Membership." more

Atlas Butler Heating and Cooling is a reputable company to do business with 7/31/2009

We have had Atlas Butler out to our home several times over the years for our spring and fall checkups. The service tech is always very professional, and actually invited us to look inside our furnace with the camera he uses to check for cracks. He answered any questions we had and told us about the service club warranty. He never gave us any high-pressure sales pitch. If there was a problem with anything, he told us our options and let US make the decision. Atlas Butler has a good reputation in Columbus Ohio, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone. There are a lot of shady heating/cooling companies out there, but this company is definitely not one of them. more

Look Else where 11/3/2008

I have a service tech out to my house because my furnace wasnt working .. They took the side pantel off and hooked up a tester.. The service man then said that my inductor motor was out and I might want to think about a new Furnace I paid him 89 dollars and if he was to replace the motor it would be over 800.. I then has a nother person out and turns out a bird was somehow in my furnace and I didnt need anything else.. Go figure ... saved 700 dollars more

not reliable 7/3/2006

they came in with the intention of getting you sucked into their schemes. they tried to push an exstra filter change and said our office needed more updated fixtures otherwise we would be causing a fire hazard. basically they wont leave you alone untill you teither just get services done from them or just tell them flat out to leave you alone more

Stay far away... 10/1/2005

This place likes to rely on the fact that at some point you are going to have a heat breakdown and it may be in the middle of the night. then they will come out and offer to fix the problem but really hard sell you on a "warranty" they have that basically allows them to gauge you for services you dont need. We had a really hard time getting rid of them and I feel sorry for the elderly that get sucked in by their tactics. more
