Was really excited about trying this place since it had aesthetic appeal. One of the owners was akward and wouldn't honor one of their coupons. Our waitress was rude and would keep forgetting to check on us outside. The prices aren't worth their lack of service. more

I really want to like this place. The decor is reflective of a Parisian meets Morrocan theme. The wine list is great...and the food was fantastic. The first couple of times I went, the service and food were great. I always buy wine....I've never had their coffee btw. But the past couple of weeks the owners/head bar staff/'managers are not as friendly or warm as they were when they first opened. Even worse. on Valentine's day, my boyfriend and I went in and it was kind of dirty and smelled like bug spray. NOT romantic. this was during the day and we had plans later...so all wasn't wasted. I like Vino Vino, Uncorked, and House. I want to make Apothecary MY place to go since I live here. The main guy said he wanted to create a neighborhood place where people know each other. That's cool. Theu just need to build that. It seems right now the young owners need to concentrate on building a relationship with regulars, make sure the food is consistent , keep it clean, (and not bug sprayish...or glasses spotty) and realize people may drop $100 or more a month on wine, food and coffee. THE TRUE BASICS will help this newcomer establish itself. I've been in the industry for a long time....so I know what I'm saying and I hope they'll make this better than Paris! I'm rooting for them! more

I went there this afternoon for an informal meeting. I decided to order food because I had not eaten lunch--the panini was my 1st choice but when I was told about the soup of the day--I decided to go for it--a spicy chicken tortilla soup. I ordered it--with a mug of hot chocolate. The guy at the counter said they had avocado so when the bowl appeared without it I asked & he went to get some but came back with none. They were out. So I asked about the tortilla the soup was missing and they went to the back and appeared several minutes later with a bowl of what looked like whole wheat flour tortillas that had been fried? Anyway--it wasn't what I was looking for at all & I didn't end up eating it. The guy that came back MINUS the avocado said he would comp my hot chocolate but as we went to leave he never mentioned it--so I asked him and he reached in his pocket to hand me $2. I guess I don't get having chicken tortilla soup minus the tortilla & avocado. It more more of a spicy chicken soup. I was shocked that when they saw it wasn't eaten they didn't inquiry WHY? But oh well..I guess it was $8 down the drain--thank goodness that was all I spent AFTER the $2 refund. Pros: The hot chocolate & atmosphere was good.. Cons: Read below and you'll see more

I?ve been here quite a few times since they?ve opened, and all I can say is that I love this place! Immediately when you walk in, you can tell they put in a lot of time designing the place, but the actual food and service is what puts it all together. During the day, it?s a perfect place to study or work on your laptop while enjoying a delicious latte made with love by their talented baristas. At night, they set an intimate vibe allowing their customers to drink, laugh, and be merry. They store wines from all over the world, and of the ones I've tried, I haven't been disappointed. I like how the staff is very friendly and open to assisting you select the right wine for your mood. Overall, I've had a great experience with my friends and will totally be back for more! I went into the Apothecary Cafe for lunch the other day and I was very happy I did. I ordered the Chicken Salad Pannini. It was brought out to me fast and FRESH. I tried the homemade Hummus, and I definately plan on getting that next time. It was PERFECT. I plan on going back in the evening for drinks, looks like a great place to hang out and enjoy some wine.
