The worst service I ever had in my life 4/9/2008

And that's saying something! I've been coming here for over 4 years, and the service was always bad-- but the last time I went was SO atrocious, I'm never going again.\r \r Normally, I would not even take the time to write such a long review, but I think that people should be aware. Here is the full story:\r \r My friends and I went after clubbing, which is routine for us. This also happens to be peak time. The waitress took her sweet time to get to our table, and after she took our order she completely disappeared. Another server brought our food-- everything was OK except for the grilled salmon, which was almost totally raw. We asked the server to come over...instead of coming to ask how everything was, she simply showed up with the check 10 minutes later (???) Finally, we told her the salmon was undercooked, and she just walked away. Came back another 10 minutes later and just took the salmon plate (while we had numerous other plates on the table). After waiting another 15 minutes, we flagged down a busboy and explained the situation, and that the salmon should be removed from the bill. He understood, brought us a new check...except the new check had a SERVICE CHARGE (the exact price of the salmon that was taken off, hmm). We finally flagged down another waitress, and when I explained the situation, she said, ""oh, we put a service charge on our bill here"" I replied, ""I've been coming here for years and haven't seen that once""-- she understood she wasn't talking to a newbie, and, FINALLY, brought us a new check. \r \r I'm not sure how long this whole ordeal took, but I'll tell you one thing: The food is good overall, but if the staff clearly shows that they don't care about your business, it's not worth going.\r \r Congrats Apollo, you lost a long time customer and all her after-hours friends. But unfortunately for them we were sober...\r \r been to Apollo plenty times for late-night meals before and received decent service/food...except for LAST NIGHT..which will be MY last visit.\r \r ::APPETIZER:: Ordered seafood-avocado-ae (in menu described as: raw seafood+ avo+ tobiko+mayo)...order came up as COOKED imitation crab meat+ rest...My group and I wanted to have a good time so we just ate it without a complain.\r \r ::DRINKS::Never got ONE refill of water/green tea throughout the entire meal even after we asked the waitress. \r \r ::DESSERT:: Tempura ice cream= COLD- previously- fried- hours- ago- then- left- in- the- fridge- green- tea- ice- cream. After we complained, they hesitated to take it off our check. Gave us an attitude so we told him if he can't take care of it, we want to speak with the manager. He rudely walked away and came back 30 minutes later.\r \r ::CHECK::Maki/sushi items on our check reflected prices higher than what was on the menu. DID THEY DO THIS BECAUSE WE DEMANDED THE TEMPURA ICE-CREAM TO BE TAKEN OFF OUR CHECK?? We spoke with a waitress and she tried to rationalize that menu prices are not the updated prices..We asked to speak to a supervisor immediately. He told us it was because every shipment of food they receive are priced differently so therefore prices are not constant. HELLO!! that's called running a business. It is not the customer's responsibility to make up for loose ends when a price is clearly stated in the menu! \r \r ::TAKEOUT::One person from our group placed an order for take out during the meal..she also experienced price discrepancies in her bill.\r \r ::CONCLUSION::Service was obviously terrible...I gave them 1 star because the supervisor eventually took care of it in a decent manner. 1 for late night hours..and another 1/2 star because the sushi was average.\r \r ::RECAP::No. We NEVER got a refill on our green teas. more

Great food great service! 8/8/2006

So Apollo isn't the prettiest sushi joint in the Boston area. It's not the fanciest. But it sure is tasty!\r \r Apollo has a lot of things going for it. The food is good, the service has always been good to me no matter what time I went, the place is open late at night, serves sake, and has attractive clientele.\r \r Apollo also serves Korean BBQ but I enjoy the sushi there so much that I have yet to try it. They have a variety of special rolls, that are unique and a pleasure to eat. The ingredients are always fresh, as opposed to other places where sometimes the fish can be a little old. The tastes are excellent, and unique from the generic taste of most sushi places. They also will honor special requests. The staff has always been very nice and present good service, except oddly enough a few times when I wanted to pay.\r \r Downside is the place is a little run down, and the bathroom can be kind of gross (especially afterhours)\r \r Apollo Pros: good food, fast friendly service Cons: decor is a little run down, pricey more

We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. The bill ended up to be almost $200!! The food was alright wasn't spectacular or anything but was pretty decent. The service wasn't good at all. The waiters all stand and chit chat with each other and the only we caught their attention was when they walked in and out of the kitchen. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon, for food at least. Pros: big restaurant, not so crowded Cons: bad service, no parking more

Disappointed With Service 1/27/2005

I went to Apollo with 2 friends for lunch one day. The lunch box special was average. However, once our waitress served us our lunch orders, she was never seen again! Until our check arrived! Not once was our water refilled. More surprisingly, after we paid our bill and exited the restaurant, the waitress actually chased after us and demanded more tip!!! We were VERY generious even though we did NOT get any service and the food was only average. It was NOT very professional of her. I will never go to this place again. Pros: lunch special Cons: poor service, average food more

Thrilling and Very Exciting 1/18/2003

This was a great place to just chill with everyone to socialize and to eat. The service is excellent and the food was really good. We have gone back repeatedly and I would reccommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for Japanese or Korean food. more

pretty good 7/24/2002

This restaurant was pretty fun. They're open really late and the food is moderately priced. I was disappointed with some of the fish we ordered: the salmon roe was pretty awful. Pros: moderate prices, open late Cons: not all fish was good more
