Annabelle's Bar & Bistro

I used to be a regular here, and will not be returing due to extreme rudeness/ bad attitude of the hostess (older man). You know this place used to be wonderful in May....what the hell happened? I spoke with the manager and left with the impression that he also could care less. I will never return and caution other diners. This place is a waste of money and time. Not recommended. Do yourself I favor and head down to the sports bar on the corner you'll get kinder service there.!! Pros: Menu has changed for the better. Cons: Staff has changed for the worst. more

Let's just say to each his/her own....but I love the new Annabelle's. Beautiful decor, awesome late night crowd, attentive staff and great food. Went there for dinner again on Thursday night and my food was spectacular. They must have a new chef or management because not only was the food great but the service was impeccable. The buser was so on her feet and attentive I was wondering how everyone else's tables were doing because it felt like we had her all to our selves! Our server was impeccable, she gave her honest opinion about everything great on the menu and what wines went well w/them. The hostess was smiley and cordial...actually giving you eye contact and friendly conversation. The waitress was able to recommend some cocktails for us that were delicious and we hardly ever drink hard liquor. \r \r Overall, I believe this is a great place with good staff, food, and ambiance. I've read people's comments and everyone has their own opinion's but one should try this place a few times before throwing in the towel. The steak was so fatty my guest and I completely lost our appetite, not to mention we had to do cartwheels to get our waiters attention. Please Annabelle's step it up, no diner deserves this quality or lack of service. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Food & service more

I always thought this place was a tourist trap, but after their recent rennovation, Annabelle's really shines. The atmosphere is comfortable but not too trendy. The food is fun and approachable (no fusion here!) The service was sharp and their bar selection was excellent. It can get a little loud sometimes, but I'll definitely be back the next time I want a great food without the pretence. Pros: Food, value, bar selection Cons: Can get a little loud. more

Was hoping for a neighborhood place but I guess they don't care how they treat people since the Moscone crowd seems to fill the place regardess of the lousy service, bad value and food that was good when they 1st reopened but is quickly sliding downhill. A major disappointment for a local. Pros: Location, large bar with tables, upbeat atmosphere Cons: terrible service more

Recently myself and two co-workers went to this downtown resteraunt, and nothing really stood out as wonderful. Its a good stop to fall into if you want a quick nibble at the bar, before heading to the movies. Its not romantic and the menu is so-so, and the pizza is dissapointing. However, it has a awesome happy hour crowd. \r For those here for a week, two weeks or even a month, I would skip it. There are so many places to go in the city, and many more with a much more unique atmosphere. The wine list is great, they put together a nice selection, but i might have chose better years. I also wish, the service was better--our server was average and a little scatter brained, and also was not very knowledgable on the menu items--as far as how they are prepared and what wines would be well paired with entrees. \r I give this place an average rating for everyone in the city, but below average for everyone visiting. This is one of the best happy hours in SF, especially if you are at the Moscone Center. The atmosphere is bright and classic and the drinks are strong and inexpensive! We shared a couple appetizers. Everyone was upbeat and friendly towards us, including the customers...nice crowd. We (large group) intended to pop in for one drink, but we ended up staying a few hours! more

I recently had a party of 35 @ Annabelle's and I must say that the staff & food beyond impressive. I would recommend Annabelle's to anyone who wants to impress their colleagues. The waitress was friendly and personable, the hostess was sweet and courteaus, the bartender made fabulous drinks. I even was able to see the head chef working hard at the pizza station and I met the Manager who went up and over the call of duty and provinded us with great customer service. ...don't expect great service. Just came back from Annabelle's and will say that the food was tasty. The calamari was crisp and came with a nice dipping sauce. The onion soup flavorful, with a nice cheesy topping. My guest had the short ribs which must have been cooking all day because it was so tender and melted in your mouth. I ordered the pork loin-it was good, but not great. For dessert, we tried the brulee and the tarte tatin. Both fair, nothing to write home about. The only downfall was the service. Our server was pleasant, but absent for most of the 2 hours we were there. It took forever for us to get her attention. The ambiance was wonderful though. Stylish, but certainly not pretentious. more

Annabelle's is one of my favorite places to eat at...Whenever I go out and about downtown for some shopping...I always end my day of spending by grabbing a bite to eat here.
