As a native of Lockhart, I've found it difficult finding great barbecue in DFW, but Angelo's doesn't dissapoint. Anytime I miss home, I go by a grab a bite!

Fort Worth Mainstay 3/14/2012

Angelo's has great ""barbecue"" and will outlast those with any opinions on ""BBQ"". They are a Fort Worth mainstay with rustic feel and great food. If you are going there for anything other than meat and beer, you are going to the wrong place. Note: if you're going at lunch (esp friday) you better get there early or you will be waiting in a long, long line. more

Where?s the Texas Hospitality? 11/22/2006

We visited this ?legendary? BBQ establishment just to discover we wasted our time. While the food was very good, the service was the pits, no pun intended. \r \r You are expected to get your own drinks in the refrigerators that are located near the entrance. When I asked if they had iced tea, I was given the ?you?re an idiot? look and told about the bottled tea in the refrigerators. I was given that look again when I wanted to use a credit card to pay. A very faded and small sign lives on the 20 year old register that reads cash only, silly me for not seeing it. \r \r Other problems: The place is dirty and the bathrooms need remodeling desperately. \r Pros: Great dry rub spare ribs Cons: Unfriendly, No Credit Card, No Iced Tea more

The Best BBQ 7/9/2003

This is an old favorite of mine, I've been a patron of Angelo's since I was a kid. I still miss the sawdust on the floor, but everything else about the place is still top-grade. The slow-cooked beef brisket is absolutely incredible, as are the fall-off-the-bone ribs. Focus on the meat when you go, not the side dishes, which are for the most part mediocre. And don't forget the frosted schoooner of beer! I'm not much of a beer drinker myself, but these schooners are something special on a hot Texas day. Perfect to wash doen the best BBQ in the Metroplex! Pros: inexpensive beer, beef brisket, the bear at the door Cons: side dishes more

Best Barbque Around 5/22/2003

I have been eating at Angelo's Barbque for for 20+ years. It is absolutely the best barbque I have eaten. The ribs are so tender that the meat falls off the bone. The atmosphere is wonderful and although it appears as a bar, it is a family place. You will laways see the Angelo's family in the corner sitting at a round table. Pros: Good parking, never a wait, good bargain more

The Bear Is Still There 11/18/2002

The sawdust on the floors is long gone, but the bear still greets you near the door. The sliced beef and the pork ribs are consistently tender and juicy. The cole slaw is excellent. I am picky about my potato salad, but theirs is much better than most places. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food served. The decor has not changed much since I started going there as a kid (MANY years ago!). Pros: Reasonable, Very casual Cons: Sometimes crowded, Decor is dingy more
