American Home Improvements

I had 26 windows installed in my home in two days. I was amazed that they were able to work that fast and leave virtually no mess. The crew leader was very informative and took the time to clean all my windows after they put them all in. It's nice to be able to open up my windows and enjoy the Spring weather again, we haven't been able to do that for years(windows would not stay up). I do have a complaint though, my new windows have made the rest of my house look bad so now I have to convince my husband to get our siding done too. Thanks American Home Improvements for a job well done. more

Mark our salesman and Sam the man who installed our windows were both very professional, friendly and answered all of our questions without making us feel stupid. It's good to know that there are nice people out there in this line of work. My husband always says that you get what you pay for, sometimes it is better to pay a little more money to get a better product. You CAN NOT put a price on customer service though. With Mark and American Home Improvements we got both and their price was less than two of the other estimates we got, they were a little higher than another company we considered, but like I said, Worth Every Penny!!!!! more

I hired American Home improvements to build me a sunroom addition to my $256,000.00 home. The absolute worst mistake I have ever made! A nightmare! They tore out an exterior wall of my home and left it open, exposed to the elements and intruders for 15 days! When they finally returned I reluctantly let them continue. Now that they have finished 8 months ago, the addition was built so poorly its sinking and must be torn down. $36,000.00 down the drain! The lady that owns the place is so rude and will not retrurn any phone calls or honor my warranty. The only form of communication I have recieved was from the owners husband telling me that if I take him to court he was going to kick my a**. Not a company I would ever refer. and the products their salesman(middleman) showed me on the initial consultation were not the same quality products the independant contractor used, They were cheap! I would have been better off hiring the company they hired instead of going through a middleman company like AHI. It would have been much easier and I would have saved a butload of money hiring an indepedant contractor. Save yourself the trouble and don't hire midlleman companies that just call the independant contractors listed next to them in the phone directory and save half the money. Make sure the company you hire is not going to hire another company to do the work, thats another situation where confusion takes place. Bottom line, the people that run American Home Improvements are a bunch of crooks! Pros: They have a good sales pitch. Cons: They don't follow through and they are a ripp-off! more

I had a deck put on my house last year by these so called specialist! I could have done better job my self. They charged me for premium materials and i dont even think they used outdoor wood. Bye the way the ladies at the office were jsut plain rude. more

Save your self a ton of heartache and dissapointment. Products of questionable quality, their customer service is worse. I've left multiple messages and just don't get return calls. Appointments were made for them to review the work, and fix my complaints, but they never showed and certainly didn't call to reschedule. It's every knock you've heard about shady home improvement companies. Pros: There just aren't any. Cons: Too many to enumberate. more

My parents used AHI for their vinyl siding, and it was and continues to be a nightmare. They broke 2 exterior lights, said they would replace them and never came back. Also, two holes suddenly appeared within weeks of the work, revealing just how cheap the product and work is. My mother has called them numerous times, and they will not return her calls. They only say they will fix the problems and never follow up. My husband and I found someone in Knoxville that quoted us half of their price for siding and labor. Pros: Looks decent Cons: Unprofessional, No customer care, Damages house parts more
