I found Sam Meranto to be a very nice man with a strong belief in God and the belief that he is really helping people which obviously he has and will continue to do for many years...

The behavior of these sales people is very telling. This place has NOTHING to do with God, the rude remarks, questioning a potential clients faith and slamming doors exposes the r...

A 100% let down 8/16/2009

I went to see this guy because of pain I have been in for a while now. I have tried everything and thought that I should try this out. What could it hurt? Right? I walk in with my grandpa and we are greeted by a very nice lady who was seemed to honestly try to be helping me. We go into an office and we watch a video with Sam Meranto on it, sitting at a desk. It was taped in 2005. Very lame. The video has a bunch of different testimonials and all these claims of losing weight and curing their cancer. After words we go into a hippie den with black lights, fog, and forest background music. Me and my grandpa sit in these big recliners to listen to a 45 minute demo tape. It was full of stories about how Sam Meranto has helped famous people such as the Bush's (former president) family and a baseball player for the AZ Diamondbacks. Half way through this tape Sam says ""The reason you are here today is because god has lead you hear, and if you leave here today not wanting the help I am offering, it is the work of the devil"". I was pretty angry after that was said, but I kept going with this because of the large amount of positive results. After the demo tape, we go back into the waiting room and we are greeted by a couple who claim to have been with this program for 30+ years. They work their now I guess. After this we go back into that office to speak to the deal closer guy; the sales man. He starts off with a couple videos of testimonials of people claiming that their Diabetic Neuropathy is gone and how this other women lost 150 pounds (like i care about weight loss. I am in there for the pain ""cure"") After those, he asks me ""Do you believe in god"". I politely told him that I do not feel comfortable discussing my beliefs with other people who I do not know. He would not let up on the question. I had to explain to him about what I have gone through in my life to make me believe the things I do, I then become very angry with him and he finally gave up on the question. He went on with a couple more testimonials in this book he had on the desk. One about a guy who had a skin graft or something. Some background on me for the rest of this to make sense (for the sake of the review). I am a very analytical person about everything I do and read about. Because of what I have been through, I have to be or else I can get medications mixed up or not understand a procedure that is being performed on me with my doctors. It's just how my brain works, and anyone should be able to understand that, Anyway, he starts saying how I look into these things too much and how I have to ""change the way I think"" and ""not analyze things so much"" and that I had to ""take my analytical thinking cap off"". Which made me angry because I wasn't looking for cult mentality. I am an individual and that is how I like it. I don't want to think the same way other people do just because this guy tells me I have to. He can tell that I am becoming very angry with him. So he decides to flash the $2000/y price tag at me. I mean, seriously, what the hell makes him think an incoming college student has 2 grand to just drop on some CD's! After we said that we are going to have to think about it. He looks at me and says ""You know what Tim. When you decide to take the smart path in life. Come back and see us"". At that moment I said ""You know what. We are leaving now"". As my grandpa and I were leaving, the sales man gets up, slams his book closed, and when we leave his office, he slams his office door closed seemingly as hard as he could. He was angry at me and my grandpa because we would not feed into his degrading little mind games. This whole process completely angered the hell out of me and my grandpa off. We will never go back and I will never ever give any form of positive referral to this hell hole. Pros: I was so angry when I walked out, I was no longer in pain Cons: I can't rate lower than a 1 star more

Have not met Sam yet Part 3 2/19/2009

To the others whose reviews I read also: so Sam dresses nicely. So what? That is a sign of good mental health and physical health. People who do not care about how they look and their personal hygiene are not healthy. I know from my own life experience. My quest for perfection and beauty, leads me to self-inflicted facial excoriation. I cut and scape at my own face to remove imaginary imperfections and blemishes. Yes, I am sick and need help. I know this. I believe Mr. Meranto maybe the man God has put in my path to help me. Besides, would you trust a professional who was slovenly and smelled of poor hygiene. It sounds like you do not trust people who success you envy.\r \r Further, who can prove the fancy cars were his? Do you think he was driving both simultaneously to work? Get realistic, not jealous. They could have belonged to his clients. Most business owners, doctors, dentists and lawyers have private parking spaces and I am sure you are aware of that. \r \r To be healed to first have to be realistic about your health. You have to accept that you are ill and need help. Secondly you have to be willing to seek out help. Third, you have to have faith that the treatment will work, even if it comes from unconventional means.\r \r If you want to be well, put your thoughts and actions into positivitiy: believing you can be healed. Do not waste your time in negativity by trying to tear down Sam Meranto. Remember God is always in control of the Universe and if Sam Meranto is the fake, con man and charlatan some believe him to be, then God will take control of the situation. It is not your job.\r \r As for me, no, as I said I have not met Sam yet. Nevertheless, I have faith and belief that I can be cured and my thoughts and actions on on finding a way to get his help. Pros: his good reputation Cons: my lack of funds more

Rebuttal 11/14/2008

To the lady who complained and said I high pressured her., ?I apologize?, Her mother told me she has wanted to sign up in my program for 5 years. She asked her daughter to drive her in and she was ready to sign up. Her daughter told her you better think about it. She has been thinking about it for five years. People that put off things for tomorrow, tomorrow seems to never come. In this way we sin against our inner self. Her mother needs help and I will even send her a session for free in the mail. I will mail it today. The cost of our program if paid in full is $1995.00, its $2995.00 on time @$50.00 a month with no interest. We help anybody that wants it and charge according to their ability to pay. We have sessions as low as $49.00. My sessions are used at Yale University in the senior care program and they have been very helpful and effective. And 31 years in the same location speaks for itself. Over a thousand people a year come in to see us, that?s over 30 thousand people. The percentage of people that are unhappy you can count on one hand. That is a record I am proud to say. Pros: It Works more

He saved my life. 11/13/2008

If I had known how my life was going to change when I paid him what he asked for, I would have happily paid him twice as much . Now that I have seen the results, I would gladly pay him at least 4 times as much. That is my opinion of what Sam Meranto does. PLAIN AND SIMPLE, HE SAVED MY LIFE. And I have met hundreds of people whose lives have been positively affected by this man. After seeing doctors, surviving cancer, and a ministroke, weighing allmost 400 pounds, etc, etc, I realized that the world is full of whiners who will always find a reason to fail, even if it means losing your life. I know, i whined for quite a while myself. Thank God I valued myself enough to invest in his system of guided meditation. I got what I paid for, and then some!!! \r I was so inspired by his work, that I have now dedicated my life to bringing his system to the Spanish-speaking community, and they now are beginning to see the positive effects of this simple yet powerful system.\r I am not going to deride those who disagree. Instead, I'll say a prayer for you because I know what it is like to be where you are today: drowning in fear, doubt and worry. Looking for excuses to fail like I ""felt pressured"". The pressure you may have felt is the price you have to pay to get out of your comfort zone and change your life. I will give you this guarantee: let money rob you of the opportunity for a better life, and 'money' will always do the same- rob you of the opportunity to live better. And next week, next month, next year you will be in the same place: angry, fearful and doubtful, and probably sicker... still whinning about this, that or the other....\r To the rest of you who may be looking a way to improve your lives: THIS IS IT! Pay the price you are asked for, and open yourself up to greater possibilitties. And you can do it while you sleep, just by listening instead of complaining.\r God bless.\r Jose L Pineda\r universalselfhelp dot com Pros: it works Cons: you have to get out of your comfort zone of fear, doubt, worry. more

I've known Sam Meranto for 48 years 11/12/2008

Sam Meranto taught me his Mind Power techniques back in the early 1960's. I live in Massachusetts. Sam lived here most of his life until the early 1970's. I personally know his entire family and we are the God Parents of his son, Jason. I feel if anyone has the knowledge of his beliefs in the Lord and his gift of helping others with their problems, it would be me. I've been his closest family friend since 1959. We speak on the phone regularly and visit each other . I attest that Sam is sincere, honest, and true to his Christian beliefs and practices what he asks others to do. In other words, He Walks The Talk.\r \r In appreciation for Sam's kindness over the years, in 1992, I gave Sam my own personal bible which was very important to me. But I did, because I highlited many scriptures which Sam directed me to read many years ago and I use them on a daily basis. The ones that helped me most are verses in the book of Mark in the New Testament; Mark 11:24 and 25 and James 2:17 thru 2:20.\r \r If you read the above Bible verses, I think you will easily become enlightened where Sam' Spiritual reaities are coming from. Sam never took any credit for healing anyone, but I feel he was given a job to do on this earth and I believe he helps those who believe and follow his suggestions through their faith and good works.\r \r Is Sam a con man? \r YES HE IS! He cons people into believing in God's Power. He's God's master salesman and he would never have stayed at one location for more than 30 years if he was dishonest and didnt have so many testimonials from satisfied people who were helped by his Bibical pholosophy and help from God. \r \r Anyone who questions Sam's abilities to be able to help people with problems through bibical teachings should read this unsolicited testimonial because it' comes from my heart and from someone who knows him like I do. \r \r Truly,\r Bob G. in Massachusetts Pros: He Truly Believes in His Work more

Just say goodbye to your money! Hello to the newest member of P.T. Barnum's club. He said there was one born every minute. I just want my money back. Cons: He is a con. more

He did it for me! 7/16/2007

I wouldn't know what ""qualifications"" a hypnotherapist needs to be considered legitimate. I do know that I crawled into Sam?s office in debilitating pain due to diabetic neuropathy. The pain had been continuous and relentless for nearly seven months. An hour and a half later, I walked out and have been free from the tormenting pain ever since. If he?s a fake, he still has me fooled, two weeks later. I was taking an enormous amount of narcotics before, begging to get increases in quantities and dosages. I have already begun the painful process of weaning myself off these, but his CD's are helping me through. \r \r Is God doing this? Sam says so, and I find that admirable. Sam doesn't present himself as the polished professional some might need to fulfill their dream of what a Psych Dr. needs to be. Sam is everyman, only he is one with a self-pronounced gift from God. Yes, I had to pay him his asked price in order for him to share his gift with me, but then...""a laborer is worthy of his hire"". I would have mortgaged my house and sold the dog for what I received in return. I have paid much, much more already to my family doc, endocrinologist, neurologist, urologist, naturalist, acupuncturist, chiropractor, urgent care facilities, emergency rooms, and in lost wages from my job. \r \r Now about those blessed CDs that I get to take with me, well I thank God for them, as I have a piece of Sam with me 24/7. I am growing, and learning every day thanks to Sam Meranto, his gift, and these CD?s. \r \r I still have a ways to go before I get to where I want to be. Two weeks ago I was grasping at thin air, today I am sure I am going to get there. As for Sam, time will serve him better for me to give my final review, but I would say that it?s looking very, very good for him.\r Pros: It workr, free first session I think, Caring people, CD's to take with you, immediate results Cons: no guarantees - well duh! more

Don't be fooled 9/21/2005

Sam will just takes thousands of dollars in the name of God and send you home with some tapes. Seek a professional. Don't believe everything you hear on TV. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool, but seek a professional rather than Sam. more
