I must have dined at Alfredo's on an off night, because all of the other user reviews are wonderful. I found the food, though tasty, to be nothing out of the ordinary. The Alfre...

incredible service and exceptional food 9/15/2007

As a man standing close to six feet one and weighing in a beefy 290 lbs, i believe that my palate has some credible tastebuds. Alfredos of rome does not stop impressing me with its impeccable service and unbelievable food. From its amazing calamari and pizza to its mouthwatering pastas and grilled entrees the menu has something for everyone all of which are equally delectable. i highly recommend the fetuccine alfredo, along witth it's calamari, and then topped off with a sweet desert or a slice of heaven from its chocolate chariot. It's soo good that i would just go there for the bread and dips. The waitstaff are all experienced and well trained and extremely polite and courteous. The decor has a wonderful vibe to it and it invites you to try such delicacies. All in all it's the best restaurant in new york. Pros: Great food, fun atmosphere and a great value especially for such a location in New York Cons: the only con i have is the fact that i can't eat it every single day for i live in college. more

! 9/14/2007

When searching for an Italian restauarant, what better location than Alfredo's! The food is delicious. Service is prompt, courteous and efficient. It is a perfect spot for pre theater dinner. It is also an excellent place to end your day after a day of sightseeing. Pros: Food and Service more

Great Food - Great Service and Beautiful atmosphere!!!!!!!!!! 9/14/2007

Came in with a large party - we were given a great table, the ambiance and the service - impeccable!! The food... that was just amazing! We will most definitely come back to this restaurant. Pros: great restaurant for large group or even intimate dinners Cons: parking more

Memorable Dining Experience 9/13/2007

We were thrilled to be able to dine at Alfredo's as it came highly recommended and had an excellent reputation. I loved the place as it had character and history contributing to the feel of authenticity. We were not disappointed as the staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food particularly the Fettucini was worth the trip. Save room for dessert. For those who live to eat ...a place you shouldn't miss! Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance, Value for Money Cons: None more

Save room for dessert! 9/10/2007

This is one of those restaurants where my friends & I couldn't stop eating because the food is so damn good! The wine list was reasonable, the fettuccini alfredo as appetizer was perfect portion, and the lamb chops were cooked to perfection. Pros: excellent service, delicious food Cons: n/a more

Can't eat at any other Italian restaurant 9/7/2007

I've been eating at Alfredo's ever since it opened and I've yet to find an Italian restaurant that can even come close to the quality of food and service here. The food is DELICIOUS. My friends and I always order the calamari appetizer and we love the gorgonzola with pear pizza (though the first time you go you have to have the original Fettuccine Alfredo. There's nothing like it). You have to have all three courses when you go to Alfredo's because they're all unbelievable (you can't skip the dessert--try the fennel!). Also, the atmosphere and decor makes this restaurant a great place to go when you want to have a nice, relaxing dinner with family or friends. Service is great; they treat you very well and the waitstaff is always on hand. You definitely won't be sorry if you choose to go to Alfredo's. It's the best!! Pros: Great food, atmosphere, service, and, once again, great food. Cons: Zero more

A Repeat Performance! 9/6/2007

Given the city's choices, Alfredo's pulled of a repeat performance. I was not disappointed --- The buttery, melt-in-your mouth pasta alfredo is a must! Although next time, I think I'll pass on a pasta to share =) The pasta alfredo was so good, I hated to see the bowl empty. Fortunately, I had other courses to look forward to. We lingered over a satisfying lunch making room for dessert. Remember, 'yes' to dessert, and try the very refreshing sorbet. Pros: Consistently good food more

Fab Italian in Heart of Roc Center 9/6/2007

The menu, service, quality and value is without compare. I've never had a bad experience nor have my guests ever been disappointed. Truly gives you a taste of Italy beyond just the normal pizza and pasta. more

Midtown Mecca 9/4/2007

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary here. Start by asking for the chunks of Parmesan (free from the bar). The Malfatti are like gnocchi without the weight, instead of heavy dumplings these are light ?pillows? of pasta filled with Ricotta and spinach (wow). Great Grouper. All the free dipping sauces keep us coming each year. Last certainly not least, the Torrone on the chocolate is fresh and soft. It?s not the hard stuff your grandma served that sent you to the dentist. Pros: Convenient after work Cons: The trip home more

Chocolate Haven 9/4/2007

Let?s talk about dessert first. Go straight to the chocolate cart and save room for the fresh Gianduja. Think of a huge bar of soft pure hazelnut chocolate that melts on your tongue. From Torres to LiLac you?ll never find anything like this. Of course the Lasagna beats my mothers, sorry mom. Also go for salmon highlighted by basil oil infused mushrooms. For authentic Italian with the highest quality ingredients I rate this a must for all. I even got my office hooked. Pros: Dessert Cons: Stuffed upon departure more

Best Italian Food in NYC 9/3/2007

from Fettuccine Alfredo to Wine Menu to Service - this is the best Italian Restaurant I've been to in NYC. Right in the heart of Rockefeller Center, Alfredo's has it all. This is a must if visiting New York and should be visitied frequently if you live here. The bar is also a great place to hang out and meet friends. I can't say enough - the food was great and the service was excellent and friendly. I'll definitely be back. Pros: Food was excellent (Fettuccine Alfredo as an appetizer - Mmmm). Also, location is perfect - in the heart of NYC. Cons: None - I've finally found the perfect restaurant! more

Great location, good food 8/31/2007

Excellent ambiance and decor. Great wait staff and excellent cosmopolitans. Love the Tuna more

A great experience 8/31/2007

Great food and service. The decor is romantic and interesting. Try not to fill up on the appetizers though. It's easy to do. Desserts are fantastic as well. Pros: Excellent food Cons: Parking in the neighborhood impossible more

Buon Appetito! My Favorite Restaurant. 8/31/2007

I love this restaurant! The decor is gorgeous, the ambience is cozy, and the food is authentic. The gorgonzola with pear pizza is amazing. What creativity! The calamari with fried apples is a must. The Fettuccine Alfredo may not be what you're used to but this is the way it should be made, people! It melts in your mouth...Alfredo would be proud. The ravioli is so tasty and the grilled entrees are delicious. Save room for dessert and make sure you order different ones to share. It's so worth it. The decadent Chocolate Chariot is hard to resist. I always come back for more... Pros: Everything Cons: Can't say anything bad at all. more

Woeful Easter Dinner 4/14/2007

Pros: Good location - Rockefeller Center Cons: Food, service more

Terrible Italian food! 4/2/2007

Overpriced and absolutely awful Italian food! Had the pasta with mushrooms and beef - had no flavor. It was supposed to come with a cream sauce, but it was very dry and overcooked. You're better off at Olive Garden. Cons: food lacked taste, overpriced more

Sono buoni 9/13/2006

It took me almost a year of eating at Alfredo of Rome to realize that its Rome, Italy location was the originator of the classic butter-and-cheese dish Fettuccine Alfredo (no kidding). While most of our party ordered the fettuccine, some of us opted to sample the oddly named ""Italian Sushi"" platter. We were pleasantly surprised to find our platter containing an assortment of the most flavorful ingredients mixed-and-matched and shaped into sushi-like hors d'oeuvres: Salmone (smoked salmon and buffalo mozzarella rolls with infused lemon oil and pink peppercorns), Tonno (smoked tuna rolled with avocado drizzled with a ginger mint sauce), Prosciutto (Prosciutto San Daniele rolled with figs and Gorgonzola cheeseour favorite!), Speck (smoked ham speck rolls with fresh cucumber, Calamari (fried calamari stuffed with fresh lobster chunks and avocado puree). more

what a joke 8/28/2006

I dined with my date at Alfredo of Rome over the weekend and what a let down. I have frequented this restaurant before and have had a nice time but the last few visits have gotten worse each time. First of all the waiters have no knowledge of the food, wine and cocktails. When my date asked about their spiced red apple martini the waiter said they needed to ask the bartender how it was made and did'nt comeback for another ten minutes and when he did he just said it was vodka and apple juice. When we asked what selection of meat and cheeses were in the pizzicarolo he said he was'nt sure and said he was sure we would like it. more

good food but nothing special 7/6/2006

I went to Alfredo's a few times with my company... the food is pretty good, especially the fried calamari appetizer (they throw in fried apples and peppers, yummy) I had the pasta sampler last time I went (ravioli, lasagna and fettucine) I wouldnt recommend the veal ravioli, everyone at the table agreed that it was dry and just not any good. the lasagna was delicious but the fettucine alfredo, which i expected to be the best, was just ok... very lemony. but it has a nice decor and friendly staff. would recommend as long as you stay away from the ravioli! more

Go for appetizers! 1/17/2006

Sit at the bar, order a glass of wine, and grab an appetizer: they'll also bring you olives, parmesan cheese, a huge loaf of delicious bread and 3 dipping sauces. We decided not even to order an entree since we were given so much. Nice big bar; reliable, satisfying place when you're in the area. Pros: large bar, lots of food, excellent bread more
