Love Alexander Hairdressing 9/19/2011

I just moved to Orlando from the east coast in August and was referred to Alexander Hairdressing by a friend from Winter Park. Of course, being nervous about a new hair stylist I didn't know what to expect. From the moment I arrived for my consultation I was in love with this place. Everyone is the salon makes you feel so welcome and as if you have been a client for years. The receptionist is great with an awesome personality and Marissa, Nicole and Angie are truly the best at what they do. I enjoy every visit and always look forward to my next appt. Their suggestions on color, cuts and waxing are so helpful and my hair in just a month is the best it ever has been. I highly recommend Alexander Hairdressing to everyone, I have received so many compliments on my hair. It is the best, you will love it! more

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO ALEXANDER HAIRDRESSING FOR YEARS. JESSIE IS A STYLIST THAT WILL LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WANT AND THEN EXECUTE IT. SHE ALSO WILL ALWAYS RECOMMEND GREAT PRODUCTS FOR ME TO USE. THE ENVIRONMENT IS GREAT, LOCATED DIRECTLY EDGEWATER DRIVE, YOU CAN GRAB A STARBUCKS BEFORE YOU GO. TRY THEM OUT YOU WON'T BE SORRY! more

Best Hair Cut 7/4/2011

It has been about 3 weeks since I had my first hair cut from Marissa and I absolutely love it! The price for the hair cut is a little more than I normally spend, but it was definitely worth it! The day after my visit I went back home to Massachusetts to see my family and my Mom loved the hair cut so much that she has decided to grow out her hair and get her hair cut with Marissa the next time she is in town! I recommend everyone to visit Marissa for their next hair cut. I guarantee that you will be in love with your hair, and excited for your next trip to the salon, I know I am! more

My new favorite salon! 5/31/2011

Having heard many great things about the salon from a family member, I decided to grow my eye brows out for about two months and then go in and see just how great Angie's work was. I made my appointment a week in advance and received a confirmation text the day before. I walked in not know really what to expect the day of my appointment, 15 minutes prior to my appointment. About 5 minutes after arriving, the friendly receptionist asked if I would like anything to drink while I waited and just as I was answering, Angie came up and introduced herself to me. It was really friendly and completely unexpected. We chatted for a minute and she walked me to her eyebrow chair. After cleaning my eyebrows we discussed how I wanted them done. About 15 minutes later, after a much needed waxing and pleasant conversation, I was checking out and making an appointment to get my hair done with Angie! The ambiance and friendliness of the salon are outstanding. I felt welcome and left extremely pleased with my service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new salon! more

My Salon of Choice 4/22/2011

My hairtype (thick, curly) is probably a stylist's worst nightmare, and as a result, I've gone to many different salons in the Orlando area in search of a good stylist. Alexander's Hairdressing is probably the fifth or sixth salon that I've had my hair cut at in the past four years, and now it is the only place I will go to get my hair done. I love the atmosphere of the place, and everyone working there is very friendly. If you have tough curly hair like me, I would recommend seeing Angie; she knew exactly how to cut my hair so that I could wear it down and curly with minimal frizz--something no other stylist I have been to was able to do. After I had my hair cut last, it began to rain like crazy when I was leaving the salon. The receptionist grabbed a large umbrella and walked with me across the street to my car. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a good haircut at a fairly reasonable price. more

I first went to Alexander Hairdressing after hearing my mother rave about it. I was visiting from NYC, where I already had someone, but I thought I'd check it out. It's definitely not a place that would have a revolving door of clients (one-time visitors), they build long-lasting relationships! more

A Wonderful Surprise! 3/25/2011

My mom surprised me at the beginning of the year with a visit to Alexander Hairdressing for a full start to finish hair makeover. I was very impressed that before they would even book a color/cut appointment with me, they insisted on a consultation first. That impressed me a lot because they aren't willing to just do anything to your hair, they really examine it from style, color, cut, etc. and make great recommendations. After the consultation, I arranged to come back for the cut, color, etc. and was amazed to see the transofrmation my hair made and the education provided me about why it had been so unhealthy previously and what steps needed to be taken to get it where I wanted it to be (long, thick and lustrous of course!). When you come in, they truly want you to enjoy a full experience, not just ""get your hair done"". Debbie, her assistant and each person I encountered was courteous and professional. The cappucinno's are AMAZING and are offered to you throughout your treatments. While this hair experience was more costly than I have paid elsewhere, it was well worth it and my hair FEELS healthier since I've been. I'm going back tomorrow for my next visit! more

Great results from professional approach 3/14/2011

If you want a your hair to look healthy and natural go to Alexander Hairstyling. From the cuticle to the ends the treatments and cut accentuate the hair, not the products. Although I have a hard time bypassing the the Kerastace experience. I've always had a great cut and attention to detail by Jesse, but the complete team has great synergy (which shows in their low employee turnover). Their new client policies may seem strict but they are always on time and carry a professionalism throughout the full experience. Results require time and money but I know it works because so many people compliment my hair. more

My sister got a great cut at Alexander so I decided to give them a try. love the cut so I went back for color. I think I might need to go a little blonder next time but I still think Jesse did a good job. I drive from Parking is kind of annoying and I drive from Windermere so it's got to be worth it for me...time will tell but so far so good. more

Great Experience! 2/12/2011

I went to Alexander's because I wanted a new style. Marissa gave me a cut that I really like and changed my look. I enjoyed the personalized attention during my appointment - not just my hair, but the mimosa and cupcake as well. I will go back. I love the convenient Edgewater Drive location! more

The Newest Me! 2/1/2011

As of this month of December, I have had the honor of being a client of Debbie for ONE YEAR. And oh, what a transformation year that has been! From course, short hair to smooth, soft, mid-chin hair. I thought it couldn't get any better...but I was wrong! I recently had a special keratin treatment (that takes about an hour) to make my hair even straighter and more manageable. I was curious as to how my hair could get any better. Boy, was I surprised. I can't believe the results. I never thought my naturally thick and wavy hair could look like a soft, silky hair model! Not only am I super-please at how my hair looks, but at how easy it is to manage. When I wake up in the morning, my hair looks as good as it did before I went to bed. In summary, all I can say is WOW! Thank you Debbie for recommending this process and thank you Angie for executing this miracle! more

Watch out! 1/29/2011

If you are not used to paying 100 bucks for a simple hair cut and if you do not like finding charges on your bill for services that you did not agree to or did not ask for then this is not the place for you. If you think that it is tacky for a salon to request your credit card number upon booking your appointment (2 weeks in advance) only to be pushed back (twice, once the day before and once the day of), and then promised you would definitely be out by a certain time and then are actually out a full hour later than promised, (and almost THREE hours after you arrive) then you won't like this place. My appointment actually began an hour and a half after it was originally scheduled. The owner claims several times in response to negative reviews that she is ""not a magician"". I find that response extremely condescending and rude. Having worked in a similar industry, I would never, ever have said that to one of my clients if they were unhappy with the service I provided them, even if I disagreed with them. I would never have called them a liar (essentially) if they said that they did not agree to buy something I sold them. I would simply take it off the bill, no questions asked. I wouldn't say I would take off a portion of it- I would remove it completely. I also see that I am not the only person who has had this experience. If you are going to charge what you charge at this salon maybe people have a right to expect magic. I don't blame them. This is not LA or NYC or London, so to pay these prices for hair is unexpected in Orlando. People only want an experience that matches those prices. I suggest if you go, know what you are walking into. Ask all the prices for all services UP FRONT before you agree to anything and if they seem like they are doing something extra to you- it isn't just because they are being nice- you are paying for it!! I'm not going to talk about the quality of the cut because it is a matter of taste preference. Was it what I wanted or expected? No. Is it a bad cut? No. Is it amazing? No. I think if I had a different experience in terms of customer service I would be going back, but because of my experience I will never go back and I will never recommend them to anyone I know. Which is unfortunate because I referred about 35 people to my former stylist. more

Alexander Hairdressing amazed me with the attention to detail each employee has. I love that a consultation is a requirement as building a trusting relationship with your stylist is a must for me! Needless to say, my first experience exceeded my expectations! I am a lifetime customer now, and just can't believe they have been there for so long and I just heard about them... more

Awesome experience! Alexander's made me not feel as high maintenance as I really am:) I enjoyed everything from the consultation to the day of my visit. I would suggest going ahead with the cappuccino and saying yes to the passed strawberries and mimosas.Truly and enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning :-) more

It almost seems like I really never had been to a hair salon before visiting Alexander's this week...the whole staff is dedicated to the client, Debbie, the owner, took great care of me; her expertise and scientific, friendly approach was appreciated. I'm new to Orlando and decided to try Alexander based on the reviews. I've gone to many upscale salons in many cities and Alexander is one of the best I've visited. I was extremely happy with my cut and my stylist, Marissa, was attentive, friendly, and gave me great advice regarding styling and taking care of my hair. I highly recommend Alexander--in fact, I'm going back for another haircut soon! more

After years of getting my hair cut at Great Clips and Hair Cuttery, I decided to go to a more upscale salon last year. This was the best decision I ever made for my hair. Marissa has transformed my hair and made it a million times healthier and lively. I don't think I could ever go back to a ""cheap"" place now after the treatment I receive at Alexander. The customer service is outstanding and I truly look forward to my experience there every time. It is a one-of-a-kind salon that makes me feel valued, pampered, and amazing! more
