I visited the new location of Aequis and I have to say the decor is lovely. Although the staff was bending over backward to please me I truly felt that the quality of the massage...

The Best of the Best 1/6/2003

The experience is uncomparable to any other spa. You forget about everything when you go there and become completely relaxed. The outside world is just a memory for several hours. I have been to most of the spas on the list and Aequis is the best by far. If you are looking for more than a massage but an experience then Aequis is for you. It is peaceful and serene. The staff anticipates and accommidates your every need. You leave feeling completely relaxed and as if you had been on a spiritual journey. Cons: Parking more

Just what I needed 11/27/2002

People say that lifes the journey and not the destination. My experience was both. In today's world, all I see is neon lights and obnoxiously large signs directing my attention as though I was a child. So on my way to Aequis, I was able to take a moment and feel the warmth and history of the aged building around me. Seeing just the spas name in the building directory was as though I found the golden egg in an Easter egg hunt. Once I rang the door, I knew a golden egg is definitely what I found. As I stepped in Aequis I started to loose the days frustrations and worries by the alluring scent in the spa. They took care of my needs before I knew I had them. The massage was a godsend for my aching body. I cannot recommend a better place to go then Aequis. more

Absolutely everything I had expected and more!! I had very high expectations going in for my massage and I wasn't disappointed. Very relaxing, calming, enjoyable. Make sure you have plenty of time after your massage to enjoy the shower! Highly recommended, I'm telling everyone I know they have to go!! Pros: Atmosphere, Staff, Everything! Cons: None more

AHHHHhhhhh, Aequis is the perfect escape from modern day stresses. First, I was incredibly pampered with an exquisite foot bath in a luscious alcove. A personally scented oil was then used for my amazing massage. The massage was divine. Lisa Brockway was very nurturing and accommodating to my needs. The atmosphere is quite peaceful. Bar none - the best! 10/10/2002

I am a huge critic and this place was worth every red cent. From the minute I walked in to the minuteI I left, I felt like I was in a coccon the whole time. Michelle, who started me off was a doll. Lori, who actually gave me my massage, was sensitive and wonderful as I was getting a prenatal massage. This place is a truly delight and a real find. more

Soothing, unique retreat 8/20/2002

I visited Aequis this weekend, and it was definitely the best spa experience I have ever had. The biggest difference is the total privacy and serenity of the environment. Unlike bigger spas, where one shares changing areas, and other facilities with crowds of other people, at Aequis, one is meant to feel as though they are the only people there. And most of the time, they are. The feet washing and "sensory journey" were so relaxing. The massage (Karen worked on me), was incredible. These factors added to Aveda products and the most unpretentious, sweet staff, made for the perfect day. A true treat. Pure sensuality for the senses is what comes to mind. Visually pleasing, the aroma is magic, attention to your every desire. This place is a must for every anniversary every year. Aequis is awesome! More of a sensual spa experience. If you prefer bright lights and the sparkling white spa scence don't go here. No crowds, no idle chatter, no distractions. The focus is all on you and the experience is like being in a a dream of total relaxation in a sultry atmosphere. ...Just go!! Also, the non-gratuity philosophy really makes it a better experience...really! Why worry or think about how much to tip after a relaxing experience? VERY relaxing. The atmosphere is truly delightful, like entering another world. It would be nice I guess, if there were stylists to help with hair afterwords, since the hot oil treatments leave your hair fairly messy, but then again, the whole atmosphere would be altered if there were stylists and manicure booths. So......I'd rather sacrifice the hair for the very calming and peaceful atmosphere. more

Perfect Bliss.... 8/1/2002

The moment I walked in I could feel the stress lifting from my toes to the top of my head. The staff was attentive and a delight to be around. I had taken my Mom there for a Mother-Daughter all day retreat. I called and made the reservations and they worked with me to find a wonderful way to totally relax and share this memorable event. Everything from having a meal brought in to working around my mom's disability for what treatments she could do. My Mom still can't stop raving about the wonderful time she had. more

When you walk into Aequis you walk into another world. All stress and worries dissipate and true and pure serenity embraces you. I have traveled the world and tried numerous spas, but Aequis is by far my most favorite. The staff is very friendly and you have the opportunity of paying ahead without worrying about tipping. .....in the Pearl District and his house is Aequis Spa !! This place is numbing with pleasure and it's decor/atmosphere is beyond comparrison to any that I've ever been to. You've not attended a true spa until you've been here. Think I'm wrong ? I then dare you to find out yourself. Shop all you wish but the experience I had here simply can't compare to all the others.
