A friend and I went in to get some jewelry and have our current jewelry changed. I was apalled by the girl at the front desk's attitude! She was outright RUDE, condescending and obnoxious. She actually told my friend she didn't care what we wanted since she wouldn't have to look at us!?! The person behind her at another desk was equally as rude- she rolled her eyes and gave snotty looks to us when we asked questions. I felt as though we were inconveniencing them. The only person who didn't upset me by the time we left was the piercer, er.. person who changed our jewelry. But, even she did not seem to know what the hell to do with our request, which was to give us hoops that fit snug against our nose. I know it can be done because I've had one before! Instead we left with jewelry we didn't like and my friend actually took hers out 1/2 hour later. I will never go back there again, nor recommend them to anyone. What a waste of time and money! As someone who had been getting tattoos and piercings for over 11 years, I can honestly say they are some of the worst in the business! I have had an idea for a tattoo when my first son was born but never got it...then after I had my other kids the idea grew but I didn't have any definate ideas...so when I decided to finally do it everyone told me to go to Adorn thats were my husband went to get his ears gauged...While he was there going up a size I talked to Justin and gave him a very general idea as to what I was looking for but still not sure...I came back the next day and as soon as I saw the design Justin came up with I knew it was perfect...He made the experience great and gave me the tattoo I will be proud to show everyone for the rest of my life...it's the perfect expression of the love I have for my kids and they absolutly LOVE it...Thanks Justin :-) Pros: Great Staff, Great Artists, tons of parking & Awesome studio Cons: Nada more

I went into Adorn with some family members who were looking for a tattoo. I had an idea in my mind for quite a while for myself, and had it crudely sketched on a piece of scratch paper. Once we got there, the girl at the front desk asked what we needed and I showed her my sketch. She showed me the artist's books and I didn't have to look very hard until I realized that I wanted Justin to do my newest tattoo. Once I picked my artist, the girl behind the desk (Jasmine I think is her name) was totally helpful. She showed me different books to choose exactly what type of flower and font I wanted. She asked me a bunch of questions as to where I wanted the tattoo, how big, and went and got me a quote from Justin. When I went in and was waiting for my appointment, I heard her talking with other clients about piercings and tattoos. She has so much information! Stuff I would have never even thought of! Once Justin was ready for me, we went into the back and he treated me fabulously! What he did with my sketch, I just couldn't believe that he came up with what he did! He far exceeded what I thought I was going to get!!! After the work was done, he walked me through every step and carefully explained to me what I should do to make sure my tattoo healed properly. I just want to thank Adorn Body Art for my most recent tattoo (my last one was 13 years ago) and to let them know that I will be coming back for my next ones!!! I have quite a few tattoos and piercings, but I was in the market for a more creative, colorfull tattoo and I wasnt sure that my (old) current tattoo parlor would have cut it. I had a friend who got work done at Adorn, and it was beautiful so I made an appointment asap. I really liked Jasmine, she was very helpfull with getting a date and prices quotes. When the day actually came, I went to Adorn East (the Portland location) and Jesse was my artist. He was attentive and made sure I felt good through the whole thing. The tattoo is beautiful, which was very important for me because I got it for my Mom and Dad. I would tell anyone who wants to walk away with a great experience and an even better tattoo to make your appointment at Adorn! My friend and I recently decided to go get pierced together. I had taken my cousin to Adorn in the past and they were great with her so I suggested to go there. We had an amazing experiance the front desk girl was very sweet and gave up tips. Farata pierced us and she was great...very comforting and new her stuff. Thanks Adorn! more

My husband and I went in to get my navel and his male area skin pierced... The piercer did a wonderful job. She was professional, ACCURATE and quick. My review lacks a star due to cusomer service at the front desk. The female wth the lighting strike hair was extremely rude and unwelcoming. She actually rolled her eyes at couple of our questions and other questions we asked where left unanswered. I will call to make sure she is NOT there when I return! I have had all my piercings done at Adorn, and every time has been great! The people there were friendly, conversational, professional and care about each and every customer. It wasn't only that they were there to give you a piercing, were very clear about how they would do it, what they would use, and they obviously really wanted to make sure you knew all the rules, your rights, and risks. I have ten piercings, and been to adorn for piercings 4 times, and I had the best experience at this particular place. Oh my goddess! I love everyone at Adorn!! Every time I go in there...I am greeted with smiles, laughter, and hugs. Everyone is wonderful! I have had the most amazing piercing and tattoo experiences at Adorn compared to any other place! They are all so passionate about what they do.....I can't wait to go back! more

I searched for two years for an artist in the portland metro area. The tattoo I wanted was very special so I didn't want it to be done by any old artist or done ""cheap"". I met a lot of guys with nice work and asked around. I was referred to a couple of places, but after looking these places up on citysearch (shall remain nameless because experiences may vary), they received mediocre reviews. I didn't want to chance it. So Adorn had one of the higher ratings on Citysearch and it was pretty close to my house. I went on their website and liked the work of one artist in particular, Sam Gosson. I figured I'd give this guy a shot. I went in, sat for four and a half hours and I was beyond impressed. On top of that, the staff was cool and were just hanging out. Other tattoos were getting done around me. But the number one thing that impressed me was how dedicated Sam was to my tattoo. I told him to have fun with it, and he did. 5 stars and I definitely recommend this place to people who have gotten tattoos already. Even if it's your first tattoo I recommend it. Jade among other artists were what brought us back again and again. He doesn't work there anymore, and I can't help but feel unwelcomed when I visit. The younger front counter girls are incredibly rude, and as an entirety, they all emitt a very self-important spirit. I thought they were extremely unprofessional when they talked badly about customers when other clients were present. When I go there; I'd rather get my tattoo somewhere else, and have it done by people who WANT to do it and don't treat it as a chore like Adorn does. more

Adorn has some of the most amazing artists working all in one place! Jesse takes the time to create magical tattoos all the while being aware and courteous. His bedside manner is the best! Desta, Lisa, and FaraTA have mad piercing skills. The jewelry selection is phenomenal. Adorn has the biggest and best selection I've seen...and I've seen quite a bit. This was my 2nd tattoo at Adorn and my 5th or 6th visit. Each time I walk through that door I am happy when I walk back out. I've gotten tattooed by Jade (now @ Jaded Soul) and Dean, both are amazing at what they do. The place is clean and well organized. They offer accurate quotes if you can bring in a drawing upfront. They are always checking in with you, making sure you are doing well and feeling okay. If you feel faint at all they are nice enough to take a break and provide you with a juice drink and water. I love the artwork on the walls also, always local art. I will always keep this shop in mind whenever anyone asks me about getting a tattoo. This was my first Tattoo at age 43. So you might imagine I was concerned about where I should get it done. I worked wtih a friend who was having work done by Sam. It looked awesome. I decided to give Adorn a try. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by Fairate'. She explained how everything worked which was extremely helpful. She was very professional. I set up a consultation with Sam and was on my way. I brought Sam a picture I found on the Internet and asked him to give me his concept of the Image. When I returned for the Tattoo Sam presented his interpretation of the picture and I got to tell you I was floored. It was almost like he read my mind. This first tattoo was so important to me that it look right and Sam drew it perfect. He completed the outline that day. Having never had a tattoo I was impressed with the outline alone. Each time I went in for a session I was more and more impressed with how this outline evolved into a work of art. The image represents my wife and three kids. It is a mermaid, 2 angel fish and a sea horse. I wanted a water theme to honor my wife of 17 years because she is a pisces. You will be able to view the finish work in Sam's portfolio. more

I had only gotten my ears pierced with those awful guns at the mall when i was little, so i was nervous about coming in to get the top of my ear pierced with a needle. I saw Lisa Blue who was very nice, very calm and helped me relax, I wasn't freakin out or anything but she definitely made me feel better. The guy at the desk i think his name was Austin was wonderful. Very nice. very funny, i want to hang out with him. Lisa did a great job, barely hurt at all, it was quick. I didn't have to wait at all. They made sure i was clear on how to clean it and everything. If i get anything pierced again i will come back here for sure. Parking is easy. Clean place. Muy Bien. I recently got my first tattoo done here by Anne and I absolutely love it! I've waited a long time and I couldn't be happier with what she came up with. I'm going back for another soon. The only reason I gave them four stars rather than five is because one of the front desk gals (Jasmine is her name I think ... glasses, white hair, sour disposition) should not be interacting with customers. I'm so glad she wasn't the one working the day I went in to check the place out, because if she had been, I never would have returned, no matter how good all the reviews I'd read were. I've seen and heard her interacting with customers and answering the phone while I've waited for appointments and I was shocked at how blunt and snotty and irritated she sounded with people on each occasion. So we're not talking ""oh she was having a bad day"", because I've witnessed it on several occasions. I don't know if she's a friend of someone who works there or what, but she should definitely not be working the front desk if they don't want to unnecessarily loose customers. I got my left rook pierced at Adorn Body Art and I'm so happy i went. I love my new piercing, even though I was totally nervous at first. i have gone to adorn for years for everything from tattoos to having my jewelry changed and it has always been a fun and exciting experience.and am super excited to hear they opened a new shop in s.e. Portland now i don't have to drive so far for the best service in the industry, i haven't been to the new shop yet but i am sure it is going to be a treat. They are always very friendly and eager to assist even someone as indecisive as me when I'm looking for the perfect piece of jewelry or tattoo design. they have the most knowledgeable and professional staff with some of the most talented artist and APP certified piercers who strive to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. i have been to several shops in Portland and through out the states, but i have never been to a more clean, friendly, and professional tattoo and piercing establishment in my life. I go all the way out to the Beaverton Location to see Lisa Blue. I have seen her for a few sessions, she is the best. She never made me feel unimportant (even if it was just a belly button & ear piercings). My hair dresser recomended her and I'm glad she did. Jewelry selection is nice too! I first went to Adorn when I was 16 and after ensuring I had parental consent they have been my piercers ever since, for over 5 years now. I have tried other places like Black Hole or Infinity just so I had some basis for comparison and I have never been treated or pierced as well as I have been at Adorn. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. The shop is hospital clean and the staff is impeccable at maintaining this. I have been in at least 8 other shops in Portland and 4 in Hawaii and this is bay far the best place to go! When a friend got tattooed in Hawaii and they started to panic about the aftercare it was Adorn's staff who were able to calm her down and explain the proper care to her, over the phone 2,000 miles away. These ladies and gentlemen are the ones you want piercing and inking you, if you want it done right the first time. I had my first tattoo from Adorn, and since then two piercings and finally a larger tattoo on my back. The first tat and my two piercings were great experiences... however, my larger back piece was done 2 years ago and I'm still really bitter about the whole thing. My other two tattoos are more complicated, this time I came in with a simple (yet larger) all black design. What I now have is whole sections with no ink left, and others that have seeped ink outside the outlines. Even more, sometimes it still hurts. I've seen tats on other people that haven't faded nearly as much and didn't have travelling ink. Needless to say, I'm going for another new tat this month and won't be returning here.... in fact, I'm also looking to have this one fixed so I can look at it and not be angry.. Pros: 3 good experiences Cons: One terrible... not worth a future gamble more
