Adelphia Cable Entertainment

One of the worst cable companys I've ever had to deal with. Huge rip off prices. Really sticking it to the consumers but there isn't any other competition in the area beside satellite. I ended up switching to a satellite system and I got a lot more stations and more premium stations for a cheaper price. Also saved myself some money in the process. Ofcoarse when I wanted to turn off my cable they wanted to give me the deal of a lifetime. $19.00 for 3 months plus a free movie channel. That was at the time. So obviously they can offer cheaper prices if they choose too. They obviously choose not to. The Customer Service people are the rudist and most incorrigable people I've ever had to speak with. Someone told me they have call centers in the prison. I really don't know if thats true or not. Just a rumor I heard. Wouldn't suprise me by the inept people I've had to deal with on the telephone. more

This is a typical cable company. I’m used to high rates and prices getting higher and higher every year. But this cable company really doesn’t care about their customer. They are terribly run. The customer service is a joke. If you ever have any problem good luck getting it corrected. They are terrible. more

Adelphia is worse than satellite, in my opinion. I would rather go with 2,4 & 7 than pay Adelphia for anything. Their service is poor. Try to talk to customer service and see. Their prices keep going up and up and their service gets worse. The service goes out and they don't care. I called to let them know there was a problem and the gal on the line acted like I was asking her to get off her duff and fix it herself. I left Adelphia and won't go back. Let them go under. more

This company has tons of complaints against it due to its service and prices. The prices are higher than satellite providers but that is partly due to a monopoly on the cable in the area. The service is OK. They have their issues when the weather gets bad just like the satellite companies. Their advertising is the problem I think. They weather effects them, maybe not as much as satellite but it still effects them. If you want high speed internet and cable then this is the company if you live in Buffalo. more

I don’t mind Adelphia. I know a lot of people complain about them but I had the Dish and was not very happy. I like the Apelphia on demand service, which you can get with digital cable. It allows you to download shows from many stations from the Adelphia server. Their cable is also great. It is very quick and the prices are not bad. more

Adelphia is terrible. The customer service is the worst. If you ever have an issue with your bill good luck getting it fixed. The station options are typical for a cable outfit but the support is poor when trying to actually order these services. The Internet is fast when it is running but I have had several periods of extended outages. more

Adelphia cable is great cable as far as not experiencing any technical issues with them. Their high speed internet is awesome too. But I have no choice because there is no others in the area. I probably would switch to satellite if they had fast internet. The one thing I do not like is they seem to raise rates every year when ever they feel like it. Lack of competition probably has a lot to do with it. Maybe when Time warner takes over they will improve. But as long as there is no competition, I will not get my hopes up. more

I definitely love my hi-speed internet and cable, but Adelphia can be a real hassle. There's just no competition. Adelphia told me it would be more than 6 weeks before they could even turn on my services (until I threw a fit). Finally they send someone out - they had to send 3 groups of people (contractors) until they found one who was good. The final group was actually highly skilled and did a good job. more
