A few months ago we needed a sliding glass door replaced. I called Action Glass, and it took more than six weeks from the initial phone call for them to purchase the new door and to install it. Sometimes it takes a while for orders to come in, so we tried to be patient.
The problems ensued after the installation. They left several inches exposed around the door that needed to be plastered; that wasn't the problem. The problem was that they removed the insulation felt that was between the door and the wood of the house. With the insulation missing, condensation ensues, and the wood would have rotted. Also they did not even use caulking! That's a big deal. You have to use caulking.
The person I hired to estimate the job of plastering around the door told me that I needed to get insulation installed between the door and the wood frame of the house, or it would not be to code and I'd have problems.
Reaching somebody at Action Glass to come out and look at this was difficult. After two weeks, I had somebody take the door out and install the insulation. The day that person came out, somebody from Action Glass called and was available to visit, but by then it was too late. I waited two weeks!
On top of that, there is a three inch gouge in the inside part of the door, right by the handle. It could only have been made with a very sharp object, and it wasn't made by me or my cat. I can only conclude that it was made by the people from Action Glass who did the installation. Since I didn't notice it until recently, when I cleaned it for the first time, I don't feel like I have any recourse. Dirt is going to get in there, and it's going be more visible with time.
I have decided to cut my losses and have no more dealings with Action Glass.
This has been an expensive, frustrating, and time consuming experience that I hope nobody else has to go through.
Think twice before you consider having any work done by Action Glass and Mirror.
