My son has been with action day since he was 3 months and we simply love action day. Some of the great things are cleanliness, staff and their focus on kid's learning. My son likes the fun activities the most :) more

Fantastic place!! 6/1/2011

All I have to say is I feel safe and assured knowing my daughter is at Action Day. My daughter, now 18 months, has been attending Action Day since she was 5 months old. I shopped around, but just knew this was the school for her. The bright cheery yellow painted buildings depict the love and joy they bring to my daughter?s life. They have helped her grow through all her stages of development, encouraging her to exercise her brain, with no pressure to advance at the speed of other children, but their own. In addition, she has been doing artwork since she was an infant. They are constantly stimulating their brain, while at the same time providing ample time for rest. \r The staff is constantly putting your child first. They provide a great schedule for children, tailored to their age group. They provide daily report cards that tell me about her day- what she ate, or passed, how long she slept, etc. As a working mom, I wish I could be with my daughter every second, but I know that she i more

Action Day Primary Plus doesn't care about your children. 1/5/2010

After our brief experience with our daughter and this center we are horrified they have been open for over 40 years. The center was not prepared for my daughter's first day--she had no crib and no place to put her diaper bag. When I called to check up on her, the office staff told me after checking in she was having a great day. Then my daughter's caregiver than evening said she was crying most of the day, and barely ate or slept. It did not get any better after that first day. There were days I would pick my daughter up and she had diaper rash because they were not changing her diaper regularly enough. I can count on one hand the number of times a caregiver was holding my daughter when I came to pick up. I can't count how many times I walked in on teachers gossiping with each other rather than interacting with the babies. Don't trust your child's care to this center! more

Action Day Primary Plus is wonderful! 10/7/2009

Wow, I am shocked at the negative comments. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences for the almost four years my daughter has been attending Moorpark. From the infant center when she started at 13 weeks all the way up to the JrK program she is in now. All the staff I have interacted with are friendly and genuinely care about the kids and I have never seen the school anything but spotless. It's been my experience that the staff calls me anytime my daughter gets even a little skinned knee. My daughter loves going to this school! more

Action Day Primary Plus -- Moorpark is fantastic! 10/2/2009

The other reviews really surprise me. Maybe it's locations other than Moorpark, but we've never been anything but pleased with our son's care here. He had a wonderful infant room teacher who spent a lot of time holding the babies, singing to them, reading to them, and doing lots of activities. They always changed his clothes promptly if he spit up (I can tell because he has eczema, and his skin will break out if they don't), and they always follow my directions to a T about his sunscreen, eczema cream, diaper cream, feedings, etc. Best of all, he loves it there! He lights up anytime he sees that we are pulling into the parking lot and laughs and giggles as soon as we arrive. I also like that the base a child moving to the next class up on ability and not age. He just started walking at 15 months, and a lot of places would have already had him in a toddler class at a year. Instead, he's in an intermediate class for crawlers and early walkers which is safer and has activities gea more

Action Day Primary Plus is terrible & overpriced 6/27/2009

Horrible Horrible school. Staff should be fired. lack of attention to children. Children are calling each other names that are far from appropriate. My Child was hurt and administration didn't bother calling me, she comes back from school hating books and reading instead of learning to read and like reading. It seems that I am paying for overpriced babysitting not school. Are those teachers even went to school themselves? all they do all day is gossip about each other and kids' parents. Shame on them. more

Lack of attention!! 2/27/2008

All three of my girls have attended action day- moorpark, and the attention and lack there of was terrible. My youngest was in the infant center and when i would drop in or at pick up time the teachers would always be talking to eachother rather than watching and caring for the children. The infant center does have a shortage of cribs so sometimes my child would have to sleep on the floor during nap time. The toddler room was also not that great. During lunch time the floors get filled with food.. of course, but the children wouldn't constantly be eating off the floors if the teachers were paying attention.. They're also not very good at keeping your childs face and hands clean. there have been numerous times that my childs hands and face were filthy. Please tell me what these caregivers are getting paid for. The assistants in the rooms are nearly 19 years old with no regards as to caring and watching children... I have told the teachers a few times that another child had either fallen more

Infant rooms are really bad 3/7/2007

This place is by far the worst day care I have seen, They swaddle the babies and put the tip of the cloth over their eyes so they cant see anything , I guess this is their way of forcing the infants to sleep. Most of the time, babies are strapped on to the swings. When I was visiting, a baby threw up, and they cleaned the floor right away, they never cleaned the baby .. Also, the teachers are very rude and obviously hates their jobs .. They kept talking to each other, gossipping and joking. I didnt see them read or sing to the babies. I would never ever recommed this place to anyone. To think that I actually considered this place gives me the creeps . What a narrow escape !! more

Great help 4/4/2006

I called them for admission but their classes were full. We wanted an urgent admission after my friend got a contract job and needed someone to take care of his 9 year old. Most of the places we called were rude since they didnot ahve a place but J here advised who to call and how to get admission. Great service and the politest people just love them. PROS: Great polite people CONS: more

Looks better than it is 8/10/2005

From the outside this looks like a fabulous daycare, but inside it's not so good. Their infant area is one of the worst I've seen. The babies spend a lot of the day in a bouncy chair. When I visited the place the staff were talking to each other not the children. From the infant area I moved on to the Toddler area, which looked a lot better, great play areas and they also get to play outside. But the sleeping arrangement sucked. Not enough cribs for each child so they have to share a crib and bedding - talk about a way to spread germs. more
