Avoid like the plague 1/28/2010

Please see the reviews for the Greenville, SC listing AND the SC Better Business Bureau report for ABC Bartending School (they have an F rating). When I called the Better Biz Bureau and mentioned these guys, they were like ""oh yeah, we know all about them."" This company and the teachers are unprofessional and actually provide inaccurate information and they KNOW IT AND DO NOT CARE. Do not give them your credit card number, do not take their course and please, please, please pass the word along to others to avoid this company. Pros: Good reminder there r people whose job is 2 rip u off Cons: The reminder cost me $300 beans more

ABC Bartending School 11/16/2009

I loved the course! The instructor Jennifer really knew her stuff cause she has had lots of experience. Within the time frame of the course she covered the important points and taught it in a fashion to help you remember. Cant wait to start with a new job! Pros: It was a lot of fun and you get to have hands on experience. Cons: I wish class had been closer to home ha ha! more

teacher ia a joke 11/5/2009

This has to be the most unprofessinal school I have ever attended. The instructor jennifer is to busy with her own life to be any kind of instructor. You pay 300.00 dollars to be taught a trade and you are issued a bartenders manual and teach yourself the rest.I would not recomend this school to anyone where the instuctor is her she is rude, disrepectful, and just an all around bitter person Cons: instructor more

Fast learning curve in tending bar 11/5/2009

I had a very good experience with ABC. The instruction portion was informative and straightforward. The instructor was knowledgeable and invited questions. I wrote out a list of additional questions for the instructor that were answered succinctly. I made no mistakes that were not immediately discovered and corrected. In addition, the practice portion helped do away with the unnecessary first week gitters in a new work environment. Very happy with the results. Pros: consolidated format, taught well Cons: n/a more

a suckers born everyday 10/26/2009

The instructor was completely unprofessional. Cured, rude and completely disrepectful. We as students were there to learn both 1st careers and partime work for money in lean time. The instructor spend more time with her own home work she wasnt a true teacher in the class room. Classes were only 1x when they were suppose to be 3xs a wk. Such professionalism. I would reccomend this class to no one. Dont waste your money or you time more

extremely helpful 5/7/2009

ABC Bartending was an extreme help to me. Not only was able to pay for it on my own schedule, but it was very inexpensive. I enjoyed the intelligent instructors and I also loved being able to ""pretend make"" the drinks behind their bar. Instead of sitting in desks all day I was up and moving and getting hands on training making drinks. I used their extremely helpful job placement progrm and have been working at my new job for about 2 weeks now. I never thught I would like to bartend but the class helped persuaded and encouraged me to make the decision of becoming one. This was a great experience. Pros: good trainers/instructors, hands on training, more

GREAT! 5/7/2009

This school was a very interesting and new thing for me. I wasn't really looking for another job, but now I am considering switching over to become a bartender. This class was fun and affordable. I loved the hands on training and friendly environment. It was such an enjoyable experience. I recommend this class to anyone and everyone. Pros: GOOD INSTRUCTORS, great environment more

Stay Away 4/13/2009

This is a completely unprofessional business. I was charged for the full amount over the phone and was only supposed to be charged for the deposit of $100. They claimed to issue a refund but never did. In my attempts to follow up and get the issued resolved, my voicemails and emails were never returned. The class itself is a waste of time and the book they give you is nothing more than a bartenders guide you can find in any local bookstore. Save your money, save your time. Both management and instructor are completely unprofessional. I would not want any kind of certificate associated with this company. Cons: waste of time and money more

Bartending class on Monroe rd. ABC 1/7/2009

I recently lost my job of 5 years. I decided to attend ABC Bartending School Charlotte. This was a very informative class. Very good instructors. The training was hands on, we made drinks every night. Mike and Chris answered all my questions and was very helpful. Looking forward to a new career in bartending. Ive been working as a banquet bartender at the Omni hotel, love my new job. Pros: good teachers more

Great Experience! 11/20/2008

ABC Bartending School was a great experience for me. I enjoyed the whole bar set up for a classroom, and the instructors were amazing. The text book was very helpful as well. I was able to make as many notes as I needed to help me remember certain things and certain drinks. The hands on training really helped me improve and understand everything even more, as well. I loved the class, and every time I needed help I was assisted. I highly recommend this program. The class is also affordable. They worked with my schedule as well. I had odd hours at my job, and I was still able to make it to classes on time. After I was finished with the class, the job placement program was very helpful. They helped me search through a variety of places and I found a job in less than a week! more

Very good bartending class 11/20/2008

so where is my paper work 1/8/2008

I took this class in Fayettville NC thur the Charlotte office. 1st I was told I was getting a 50.00 discounted that I never got. Then I completed the class back in Nov (before thanksgiving) I have yet to get my paper work even saying that I took the class. Tranning was fine Mike the trannier was really nice. If I dont hear from them soon. I'm going to take them to small claims to get my money back because that haven't completed there end of the deal. Whoever in charge needs to get themself in gear because thier makeing all ABC barenting look bad. And what makes this even worst I had a job and needed my paperwork call them and told them and they still havent call me back. Pros: customer service is a hot mess Cons: mike nice guy more

abc bartending school 11/15/2007

THIS WAS A GREAT EXP. FOR ME. THE STAFF WAS VERY FRENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL AS WELL. Pros: GREAT CLASS FOR THE MONEY more

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MISLEADING STAFF 9/13/2007

Right from the start it was horrible. I was told you receive a certificate and an ID card, which it's be three months and I still have not received my card. I showed up three times to pickup my certificate and they still did not have it. I had to go back a fourth time but still no card. Now they have changed their story and just keep handing me junk. Don't take this class! It's a waste of money and time. You can learn this stuff on your own just as fast. By the way, it looks like the five star review was posted the person who answers the phone, Jennifer Lynn. As you can see, the rest of the comments are no good! Pros: No pros, sorry! Cons: Very unprofessional staff anf environment! more

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! BEST BARTENDING SCHOOL IN NC 7/16/2007

I took classes at ABC Bartending School on Monroe Rd. I loved every minute of it. The classroom was so much fun because it felt like we were really working at a bar. I signed up for private parties and worked one before I graduated. I disagree with the other two comments on this site. ABC helped me get employment and provided everything they said they would. My friend took the class and is working down town at the forum - he loves it! Good luck! Pros: Short class so I could work faster Cons: none! more

waste of good money and tjme 6/17/2007

Bad Customer Service 6/15/2007

I attended ABC bartending school and had no complaints upon taking the course, everyone seemed to be nice and up to par on everything. Upon completetion of the course the job placement number I was given didnt work and still doesnt. I have tried calling and calling and no one will answer nor return my call. I recommend attending bartending school with another company. Pros: good teaching skills and wonderful class size and hands on experience Cons: bad job placement program more
