I recently moved from Greenpoint, Brooklyn to Sunnyside, Queens. A+M sent Steven and Surgio. They showed up on time, they were clean, and friendly and wrapped everything. Me elevator stopped working and they were forced to use the stairs but did so without complaint. I have moved twice before: the first time i moved myself and almost died on the stairs. The second time I had movers that were late and broke some of my furniture. I highly recommend A+M. They were punctual, professional, clean and fast. What more can I say? I was moving from one tenement to another, in the lower east side. Fifth floor walk ups on both sides. Sofa bed. 60 boxes of books. A century of LP's collected over fifteen years. Oh yes lest I forget, 6 crates of wine I've been collecting for the last decade.\r \r Three skinny guys showed up and went straight to work. they were efficient, clever, careful, creative, and most of all uncomplaining. Great guys. Over the course of an afternoon they relocated fifteen years of collected detritus to my new place. If they're around in fifteen years I'll use them again. We had finally secured an apartment that we are planning on living in for a long time, and we were preparing for our eighth move in seven years, this time from Windsor Terrace to Carroll Gardens. A + M was given the job after considering several options, and we were most pleased with their help. I was hovering over the crew when they were packing some of our particularly fragile glassware, and much to my relief, they packed the items very well. More importantly, there were no damaged items to be found upon unpacking. The entire move was over and done just after lunch, and all to a quite decent price. what sets these movers apart from others is that they seem to recognize that we entrusted them with all the worldly belongings we collected over the last 30-odd years of our lives, and they took that trust seriously. they were more careful with our belongings than perhaps we would have been ourselves. \r \r we were initially scheduled to move a month earlier, but our closing got pushed back and we were up in the air on dates. their office was extremely accommodating, easy to reach, and prompt in organizing and executing our paperwork so we could move. \r \r this is exactly the experience you want when you move. We hired A+M Moving Service the day before my move after other movers canceled, and was somewhat nervous because both of our buildings needed certificates of insurance. The office staff at A+M was completely professional, competent and communicative. They took our buildings' management information and sent certificates within hours. \r \r The next morning, Steven and Wolf did a great job. We had several items that needed to be disassembled to fit through the doorways and into the elevators, including a crib that was professionally assembled when we purchased it. The guys had all the tools and know-how to put things together right without breaking them.\r \r The movers were coming into a fraught situation to begin with, on short notice, and were not only professional but personable and easy to work with. We liked A+M Moving Service so much we actually talked them into signing up for citysearch. They were recommended to us by friends when we moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn. They were the only movers who came for an onsite estimate--the others gave us outrageously high quotes over the phone--and I commend their courtesy and professionalism. \r \r If we move again, we'll definitely call these guys.
