I recently moved to the Mt. Airy area from a state with no auto inspection requirement. Willie there helped me get the VIN plate proof ready by signing a print-out of the VIN plate photo I brought (I couldn't trace the plate legibly with a pencil and a tracing paper). The next day, I dropped off my car there early in the morning for the PA safety & emission inspections. There were some issues with my car and it needed some serious work done, and I almost freaked out when I heard about it. But Willie was kind enough to keep me posted on the repair process and the cost by giving me a few phone calls during the day. And he did his best to save the parts within the assembly that had a problem to save me some money, and the total repair fee was lower than what he initially told me and what I anticipated from doing a quick research on part prices online. His explanations were clear, and the labor fee was very reasonable. Not only that Willie was honest and friendly, but also that other mechanics there all seemed very friendly and respectful! I had been having a difficult time popping the hood open due to the loose cable attached to the hood-open lever, but he fixed it for me without putting it in the service invoice! It is a nice friendly shop with welcoming people working there. I highly recommend A & W Auto Services and I'm sure I'm going back there for the next inspection!
